Stayed Dec 31, 1969The property is beautiful and well maintained. We used it for a weekend getaway from Seattle and it was perfect for it. The only slight criticism I have is that there wasn't clear communication about some details of the property. I'm used to places like these having a binder of printout with basic information like the Wi-Fi password, the checkout procedure, how the heating works etc. The only information here was the Wi-Fi password, and that was so well hidden that I eventually gave up and contacted the owner, only to find it a few minutes later.

Stayed Nov 27, 2025We selected this property because it is pet-friendly, though ended up not bringing our dogs after all. The cabin was roomy enough for four adults and cleanish. Given we were only there one night, and arrived late after Thanksgiving with friends in the area, we did not take advantage of the location, which I'm sure is fantastic in the summer.Unfortunately, it did not make for the best winter stay. When we arrived, the heat was not on - it was colder than 60 degrees, and it took a while for us to figure out the wall heating units. This is the first time I've ever arrived to a VRBO that did not already have the temperature set at a comfortable level. There is also no binder for guests (as noted in another review). Which made the heating confusion a bit more challenging. We were ultimately able to get the place heated, but the bathroom in the primary bedroom never warmed up, making the prospect of a shower quite unappetizing.Again - if we were traveling in summer and enjoying the lake, I'm sure we would have appreciated our stay more. As it was, the cabin felt a bit like an off-season afterthought, like nobody had been by in a while. Compared to the VRBO we stayed in last year at the same time, which was heated and well-equipped, this felt rustic.

Stayed Sep 5, 2025Needed improvement. Water pressure issues. Lacked towels, coffee cups, pot holders. Quite a few spiders in there. Not being maintained like they used to be.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025Water pressure is non existence. Water barely dribbles in kitchen and front shower. Refrigerator hadn't been wiped down inside. using bathroom sink, water flowed from refrigerator all over the floor. Only 3 coffee cups. Mold inside water container of of kureig coffee maker. Cobwebs and spiders. Dirt and crumbs under couch cushions. Need new cleaners. Beds were comfy, furniture was nice.

Stayed Jul 13, 2025A pleasant surprise to find the accommodation was actually as nice as the photos (which is sadly rare in a lot of holiday homes). Very clean, nice, and comfortable, And roomier than expected. Pip and Tanya, at the pub restaurant next door, were welcoming and helpful when we arrived and friendly throughout our stay. Plus the pizzas were huge and tasty. There was a great little band playing to about 6pm on the Sunday evening we arrived, and it was quiet and peaceful for the rest of our stay. It's a 1minute walk from the front door to water, and the lake was great for paddleboarding. My only complaint is that it was advertised as having Wi-Fi, but half the time it wouldn't connect, and when it did it constantly disconnected within minutes. Which was frustrating and did ruin plans as we had arranged a family video call and I missed out on income as I was unable to work the few hours a day I had planned to do. I did message the owner about it being an issue but it didn't improve. So, if you need Wi-Fi, this isn't the place. But if you don't, this is a great little getaway!

Stayed Jun 20, 2025We enjoyed our stay here. The home provided the perfect space for our family to relax and enjoy the local trails. The listing stated laundry access was nearby, which I took to mean somewhere on site. We ended up having to drive 40 minutes each way because the one 20-25 minutes away closed earlier. Make sure to plan for that.

Stayed Sep 11, 2024Cabin 3 was quite spacious, with everything needed for a relaxing stay. We booked for our wedding anniversary with plans to explore the Olympic Peninsula and have some down time. Lake Nahwatzel was a great pick, since it allowed us to explore both the Pacific side of the park/forest, as well as the eastern side. The restaurant was also a nice surprise. They had a great variety of options and the service was very friendly. Unlike a lot of small towns, the staff didn't make you feel like an outsider. On the contrary, Tanya, Warren, and the rest of the team were incredibly accommodating. One thing to note: Lake access is extremely limited. There's a very narrow path down to the dock (between two private properties) and a public access area that's no bigger than a boat launch and another small dock. If you plan on fishing, you'll probably want to bring/rent a boat. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back.

Stayed Aug 5, 2024We enjoyed our time here. Very quiet. The public dock was steps away. The restaurant close by was closed, so we had to go into town for food as we thought we’d just eat there. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Shelton has some cute places to visit. The Wilde Irish Pub had excellent fish and chips and a full bar. But a lot of shops and restaurants are also closed Monday and Tuesdays. The bathtub in the primary bedroom didn’t have a water spout for a bath, which was odd. But the shower worked fine. Everything was very clean and comfortable!
