Lake House Cabin is a 800 square feet, rustic wood cabin, that sits overlooking a beautiful lake and Lookout Mountain. It's located in the Preserve in Johnson's Crook. The Preserve is a 2800 acre area that's located in Rising Fawn Ga. We are 35 miles from Chattanooga Tn and 2 hours from Atlanta Ga., Nashville Tn., Knoxville Tn. and Birmingham Al.
Come stay and this beautiful rustic wood cabin and enjoy the sounds of nature. Renting this cabin gives you access to multiple fishing lakes. We are 30 minutes from downtown Chattanooga where you can enjoy the Tennessee Aquarium, take a walk over the Walnut Street Bridge and enjoy Coolidge Park or you can visit Rock City or Ruby Falls. We are 15 minutes from Cloudland Canyon State Park where you can enjoy miles of hiking trails. We are 20 minutes from the Wilderness Outdoor Movie Theater if you would like to go to a drive in movie. The outdoor theater closes during the Winter.
Cabin has a coded door lock. I will send guests a message with the code the day before they are scheduled to arrive. Also there's no internet at the cabin so there's no wifi.
Fishing is allowed right off your back porch or you can fish in any of the other lakes located in the Preserve (no fishing license required). Just bring your own fishing gear. Kayaks available (no boats with motors allowed).

There were lots of spider webs on the outside of the cabin that needed to be cleaned and the paddle boat is under water so it could not be used. The grill would not start so had to put in a new battery for it to work. These were a few minor things. We loved our trip and fishing.
Owner can do a better job of maintaining and updating property. Some light bulbs out, no instructions for operating AC or leaving the house. Floorplan not friendly to seniors with bedrooms upstairs and bathroom downstairs, and no closets. We enjoyed the lake, but not necessarily the house. Grill starter broken, sofa needs replacing, paddle boat flooded. More maintenance.
Great place, well srocked and clean. The kids loved being able to fish off the dock.
This was a great place for small children! My daughter and her family enjoyed their stay despite the water being high and covering the deck.
Over all we enjoyed our get away. The only draw back was no hot water. Only cold. We saw nowhere that it might be turned on. We were given no phone numbers to call for help with this. Only email.
This was the start of a family tradition of renting a cabin and just relaxing. The cabin was as described, cozy and very inviting. Everything was clean and if we forgot anything, it was stocked with essentials. Excellent communication.
This is our 6th trip to this cabin. We love it here. We come for a quiet peaceful trip. We love fishing in the lake, the views and all the wildlife we see. The only recommendations I ever have are I wish there was a washer and dryer. Simply because of how dirty we get with outside activities and having to hold those dirty clothes until we get home. Another suggestion is having a couch that goes into a bed. It would help with the kids that want to sleep downstairs with the tv. Also, it would look better if someone cleaned the outside of the house. Tons of cobwebs around the house that just need to be cleaned up. Still nothing they would prevent us from coming back though.
We loved this little cabin! The view is absolutely beautiful. My husband enjoyed fishing on the lake and caught quite a few bluegill. We will definitely be back!
The cabin was welcoming and accommodating. It is equipped with more than you could ask for and nicely located on the end near the fire pit. The paddle boat and kayaks were nice to explore the lake and fish. The checker board experienced many family competitions and the fire pit burnt many marshmallows. I loved waking up to the cool air and beautiful scenery of fall leaves and fog covered lake. My teenage boys left their phones behind and played like kids again. It was a joy to hear their laughter and watch them throw a football around. There was plenty of things for them to do. We will definitely be back.
This cabin was perfect for our anniversary trip. It was so quiet with such beautiful scenery. We really enjoyed the taking the kayaks out on the water. Overall a great trip and will be staying again in the future!
Cabin is acceptable and road is very bad.
We stated at this property, because we wanted a getaway. It did not disappoint! I was a little nervous after reading some of the other reviews, but there was no need to be. This cabin is clean, themed adorably, and we loved all the amenities. Yes, there were a few cobwebs (Hardly any!) on the OUTSIDE patio, but I a wanted a cabin in the woods, not a Hilton! Yes, there was a stray fishing lure on the bottom part of the deck. No big deal. I picked it up and threw it away. Overall, this place is super nice, very clean, and possibly the most serene place I’ve ever stayed. If you were on the fence about booking, don’t be! Book it now you will not be sorry!
This cabin is great. This was our 4th trip here. The area is beautiful and great for fishing. The cabin was clean inside but there was trash and spiderwebs all outside. Every trip now we’ve had to buy light bulbs because it’s been blown. There really needs to be a flood light or something outside for night fishing. It’s very very dark. We bring our own lantern every time because we know this.
Peaceful and relaxing time
The property location is awesome , it was our 2nd stay on the lake, but 1st in this cabin. The cabin had so much potential , , it’s pretty cute ,,, but it was quite dirty, the screened in porch was covered in cob webs, bugs from damaged screening, dried bait and random tackle on the floor, garbage from past occupants, and broken decorations or equipment. The grass was quite high needed to be cut, fall leaves still cluttered both porches,, , also both covered in cobwebs,,, grill grease all over the rear porch floor and the grill area ,, and well , we had to go buy grill cleaner before we could attempt to use. The beds were pretty comfy but you would sink down in the couch when seated. We booked this cabin because of the screened in porch and possibility of using the kayaks but neither was really permissible . Even with all this, we still had a good time, the lake and setting is just beautiful with peaceful surroundings ,, just wish the accomadations were more hospitable.
It was everything I was looking for nice quiet getaway, by the lake.So peaceful
