A charming 1940s cottage located in a lakeside community a short distance from New York and Philadelphia. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of lake living. We offer fishing, boating, hiking and day-trip options.
The cottage has been fully remodeled. It is located on the "mountain side" of King Fisher Drive which circles Moon Lake. Guests have full access to the lake, use of 3 boats and a campfire pit. You'll catch plenty of fish (catch and release only).
This is a lovely well appointed cabin. My family of six enjoyed staying for the weekend and wished we could have stayed longer!
Very nice cottage for our weekend visit. Plenty of space, however we were surprised the 3rd bedroom was a loft and had to scale some shaky pull down stairs in the ceiling. The back yard was great with a huge fire ring and lots of wood to burn and a hiking trail. The lake was filled with ducks and geese and not many people around during our stay. Too cold to use the boats on the lake too. The cottage was recently renovated with the latest amenities, plenty of games to enjoy and nicely decorated with pictures from the lake's history. Very charming weekend!
We really had a great time in this cottage. It was warm and cozy with just the right amount of space for our small family. The kitchen was small but still had enough room to prep and cook. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfy. The house has a second floor with additional beds, but it is only accessible by a latter, so not the best for small kids. Beautiful front porch with a nice view across the street to the lake, and a nice back yard with a deck and a grill. Bathroom was a nice size too. Finally, the owners were great. Communication was a breeze. They left instructions for everything and a great guidebook too. They truly made our stay a pleasant and enjoyable one.
I open with Highly recommend! Cute, rustic, clean and well maintained cabins. Fill of surprises and you can tell the owners actually care about who stays there. We could feel well taken care of even though we never actually met the owner. Dislikes: (only because nothing is perfect- please do not think I'm complaining, because we Loved our stay) The wifi password we were given didn't work, after the first night we finally looked in the book they had there , and the correct password was in the book. There was a little confusion on which boat was ours, and when we found it, the rudder was missing. However we had assistance from a friendly person who stays there on a solution. Our oars did not look too safe to use, but we only did not try them due to we didn't have time and it was raining. The neighbors we saw were all very friendly and it was a quiet place to stay. Hopefully we can stay here again and plan a day to just stay at the cabin and enjoy it a bit more. Again, Definitely recommend!!! So glad we found this location and we're able to stay here. Reservations were easy, they answered all our questions quickly, we had no issues or complaints. We would definitely do this again! Thank you!
Great family trip place clean and easy to access
Group came up to wheel at AOAA. Clean cabin, beautiful woods and amazing fire pit Hope to come back in the fall
Our visit followed a 7 hour car ride with our 1 1/2 year old twins. Needless to say, we were exhausted, hungry and slightly irritable. When we arrived we found the front porch I be newly... um covered in plywood. Perhaps they were in the middle of renovations. When attempting to unlock the front door, the key proceeded to break off in the lock. Luckily the owner responded to my message via VRBO app within 10 minutes. His housekeeper lives nearby and was able to bring over a spare key. My husband was able to remove the broken piece from the lock, bless him. At this point we’re just ready to eat dinner and crash. That’s when our tunes changed. The cottage itself was less than desirable especially when comparing them to the photos in the listing. The floor creaked with every step and had many, many soft spots. If you had older children running around or roughhousing in the wrong spot, I’m not confident they wouldn’t break through the floor. Our kids were terrified to sleep in the bunk room and the main bedroom has a full size bed, not fit for two grown adults. The windows and blinds appeared to be new so again, possibly doing some renovations. Everything else was in dire need. The linens and towels were old, outdated and used who knows how times. All of the furniture was beyond uncomfortable. The couch made more noise than the floor. The BBQ joint nearby had great food so at least our take out was good. I didn’t sleep a wink. The bedsheets felt sticky and damp, the whole place made me uneasy. I was not comfortable using the extra blankets in the closets. We honestly set our alarms for 2:00am to begin our journey back home to Michigan because we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Owner seemed nice and we appreciated his fast response and help getting in, considering the whole key debacle but we will never stay here again.
Loved the swing and rocking chairs on the front porch complete with view of the lake. The interior of the cottage was very cute and perfect for our family of 3. We did not use the loft, we only had 3 people so we didn't need it. The fire pit was great. The neighbor's chickens from next door came to visit us a few times. They were really friendly and my daughter enjoyed feeding them our bread scraps. The fall foliage last weekend was right at the peak. It looked beautiful at the lake. Had a great experience, would definitely come back.
This cabin was beyond gorgeous, the pictures do not do it justice. The most clean place I have ever booked, and I have booked many. The owner was extremely responsive and responded to all my questions. The BBQ came with instructions, which was great for us, girls from the city. We were also pleasantly surprised to not even find one bug in the cabin. The location is amazing, the view from the home is so beautiful, like out of a calendar. Definitely will be staying here again!
Such a sweet get away with our family. (4 adults and two children) The grandkids loved walking around the lake and the cozy cabin, along with our day trip to nearby Knoebels and topped off with making s’mores in the large fire ring at the cabin. The accommodations worked well for us and the cabin has all you need. Great fall weekend!
This cottage is a in a cute neighborhood on a private lake. The cell signal is almost non-existent but there was good internet. It was well stocked with all the things you would need for your stay. Loved the ambiance and we made good use of the grill and firepit. Sitting on the front porch or back deck was peaceful and quiet. Wood was provided for the firepit. We made use of the paddle boat and canoes. as well. I enjoyed our stay but a few minor improvements could be made to make it better. Both the front and back doors knobs do not quite work just right. The front would lock if you turned it and you could not get out, the back had a skeleton key that was difficult to get to open. It should be noted in listing the loft is actually the attic with attic stairs that pull down which is next to impossible to take any luggage up to. It is plenty spacious but of the 3 beds, one is a cot and one of the straps was broken so your bottom would fall through. Owner was responsive when I messaged him and He did bring a blow up mattress when I communicated this to him but it would have been so difficult to get upstairs so we ended up just putting the cot mattress on the floor. There is plenty of room for a 3rd twin bed in the attic so not sure why there is a cot instead. Better access would also be preferable for a more comfortable experience or the listing should atleast state how it is accessed. Our bed-the full was comfortable-but I am told the bunk and the twin beds were not. The trail was not clearly marked and after about a few hundred yards became difficult to follow and we turned back. A few minor tweaks and this could have been a 4 star experience.
Good experience
