La Rouge | King bed | Hot tub | Walk to Main | Pet Friendly w/fee

This was the perfect alternative to staying at a hotel! It was exactly what we needed for a getaway trip that still allowed for being away from crowds. Imagine a 1 bedroom suite at a country lodge and you'll get the picture. It is a guest cabin built on a neighborhood street so the outdoor isn't private but an occasional neighbor walking by is still better than a crowded hotel. The back patio with the hot tub is mostly enclosed (open to the stars) so no one is watching you there, but you could still be heard. I was hesitant to stay initially due to the comments from other reviewers about this but I did not have any concerns once we were there. The WiFi was slow and spotty which is my only complaint. Only 2 & 1/2 blocks to the main street business area made it a great location. Overall a good place to stay for a trip to wine country. I recommend

A plus that might be overlooked is no steps or stairs , very much cane or walker friendly. Overall very clean and well prepared. The furniture was to soft or a bit worn, the kind you sink into and have to pull yourself out of, but basically comfortable. With all of the restaurants close by not having a kitchen is not a problem, we picked up breakfast pastries at local bakery for easy breakfast.

Our stay was pretty good cute little cottage but the outside was rough looking and the back area where the hot tub was pretty dirty the hot tub itself was nice.

A great romantic place to stay for any couple, minutes away from main street shops and restaurants.

This cabin was very nice.

We had a relaxing two night stay. The hot tub was ready when we arrived. The fenced in yard was a plus for our pet. We enjoyed sitting outside playing with our dog. We hope to be able to return someday.

Absolutely amazing. This little cottage was very cozy. Very clean easy to find. The king size bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in outside of my own. Definitely gonna rebook for my son and his wife to enjoy. And my husband and I will be booking another stay here. I cannot say enough nice things about this place. Absolutely amazing thank you.

Adorable cabin right off of main street available last minute for a hot tub getaway. The bed was very comfortable, it had all of the amenities we needed and the hot tub was secluded on the back patio and very very hot. We will stay again.

This was a charming little getaway- we enjoyed the ambiance, and the outside area- even got to pet the kitties! There was definitely a lot of thought put into this cottage. Also very close to downtown Fredericksburg.

House is a cute spot just off Main Street with easy walking to lots of shopping. We enjoyed the peacefulness and quietness even in its proximity. It was cute, clean and relaxing. Def recommend!

Location was very clean/comfortable. Very quite in evenings. Would stay at location again.

The outside of the property was in need of attention. Weeds, tall grass, mulch. The place was cute, bed was soft, plenty of pillows but the mattress has a deep divot and needs replacing. The shower was big but we didn’t like using because the shower heads were so clogged with sediment. The coffee maker did not work and the was a big disappointment. The hot tub was super dirty and the display was broken so we were guessing at the temp.. The couch cover did not cover the dirtyness underneath so that was kinda grass. We still had fun though.

We were happy with our stay at La Rouge. Nicely appointed and convenient location without being right on Main Street. You can still hear traffic noise in the morning but not terrible. Dogs next door were a bit yippy the first day as we were in the front moving in and then in the back for a hot tub time. Hot tub did drown them out however. Maintenance was very responsive as we had a chirping smoke alarm and it got fixed for the second night. Many thanks for that. Would stay again.

It was exactly what I hoped for! Door knobs and little things can be fixed… but all and all it was great

My wife and I celebrated our 30 year anniversary and spent a week at La Rouge, which is a wonderful place for a romantic getaway.

We loved staying at the La Rouge. Just blocks from main street and plenty of amazing food and shopping. Would definitely stay here again.

The house was small and just the size we needed. Check in was at 4 but it was closer to 4:15 by the time we got in. Landscapers were there and left a huge pile of leaves that blocked the entire front of the house. Had to park next door the entire weekend. Part if the reason for choosing this location was the fireplace option since its January and cold at night. There was no firewood available to use as stated in the post. Other than those 2 things the stay was great. Id recommended a few more towels be available but the location and comfort of the home was what i expected and would book again.

Really great little house within walking distance of Main St. Comy bed and couches that was perfect for 2. The upgrades were very nice - great shower, neat copper sinks. They even lets us bring the dogs who loved the fenced in front yard. We sat out on. The patio under the huge trees and it was just lovely.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was nice and cozy. I really liked the walk in shower, and hot tub! We also liked that is was super close to Main street for shopping and dining.

La Rouge was the perfect setting for a peaceful, relaxing weekend.

The stand alone house is small but perfect for the two of us. We chose it because they allowed our dog but would gladly stay again even without him! The only snag was the wi fi login and password had changed and took several hours to get figured out. When we come back we will try and book La Rouge first!

After being out to the museum each day for two days this was the perfect retreat. The private hot tub next to the bedroom was the perfect place to relax after a very active day. The location was very convenient and I enjoyed have lunch in the front yard.

Our stay at La Rouge was the best part of our vacation, would definitely recommend it and love to return.
