Sundance, Wyoming
One bedroom cabin located on an authentic working ranch located about 15 minutes southwest of Sundance, Wyoming. Enjoy the country life at your own pace. Breakfast provided each morning! Additional meals and horseback riding available for an additional cost. Enjoy the scenery and hike around with the horses and nearby hills or enjoy a nice cold drink in the saloon. Either way, you are sure to find a nice place to relax and literally get away!
Loved this place. To bad it was only for one night. Too much to do. People are are welcoming and friendly. Need several days here, so plan ahead. Plan to have the steak dinner. It was phenomenal. Two thumbs up.
It was a cute property, would like to come back someday when I could stay longer. Loved watching the horses running around. It was real quiet and peaceful.
The fact that it was a real working ranch. Fun place to stay with a great breakfast.
Beautiful location! The directions were not perfect as the town of Sundance does not exist on Apple or Google maps. We found it anyway. The wifi was super weak and only worked about 5% of the time. Also the water pressure in the shower was barely a trickle. Still the views and wildlife were spectacular. Well worth the trip down a very rough six mile gravel road.
The property is absolutely stunning! We picked up dinner before heading into the ranch as it is about 20 mins off the highway and closest town. Highly recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise come over the mountains! Beautiful!
Great quiet getaway.
This was a very nice place to relax and unwind after a hectic day site seeing. It’s dog friendly which is why we chose it. Cabin was clean and tidy, the staff friendly and welcoming and the breakfast delicious. Phone access for me was somewhat limited as it’s on a working ranch about six miles off the interstate. The area is beautiful and the evenings are quiet and peaceful. No dealing with loud people in motels after a long day. Win win!
This place is great. Clean cabins and very friendly staff. Great breakfast. The property seemed to be geared toward people who want to stay for a lengthy period of time and partake in the cattle drive experience. It's hard to find if you have a GMC GPS, which sends you in several opposite directions from where you need to go. Phone connection is iffy so we recommend getting good directions before you go, especially if you are arriving after dark.
I booked this pretty last minute so I didn't have much time to understand all the fun options available here, but once I got there I realized that I absolutely have to come back next summer to enjoy everything that's offered! Room was cozy and rustic and did the job. Most of all the people were friendly and the experience was amazing.
We enjoyed our stay at the Kara Creek Ranch, especially getting to know the ranch hands. Getting to the ranch was a little difficult because it was a 7 mile gravel road.
Hawkeye's jokes were NOT funny
It was a one of a kind adventure. Would have loved to stay longer and take advantage of horse back riding and mountain biking. People were very friendly, breakfast was great also.
This is a great location and very enjoyable stay. There is a but. It can be difficult to find. As Cassie said your directions must pass through exit 178 - no exceptions. I found Kara Creek Ranch to work but not the street address. If you use Ridgeview Rd the GPS will mislead you. Make sure what you plug in exits from 178 and is south of I-90.
My husband and I came here looking for peace, and beauty to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. We found exactly that! We loved that Kara Creek was located away from all the tourist attractions but still close enough to go to them. There were no bad views, every single day was beautiful. From the moment we got there everyone on the ranch made us feel right at home, like being with old friends. Breakfast at the ranch house every morning was perfect. They did a wonderful job matching us the right horses, and the horses we rode were very well mannered and fun to ride. I really enjoyed getting to be more hands on and help tack up and groom the horses, something you do not get at most stables. I really can not think of one bad thing. It was the perfect stress free vacation. And I got to spend my birthday surrounded by beautiful horses, beautiful sunsets, and new friends. I can't wait to plan another trip!
