Welcome to one of the most well-stocked cabins in the Hocking Hills, where you can enjoy seclusion and tranquility in a spotlessly clean cabin nestled on a 42-acre ridgetop surrounded by epic forest scenery! This 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin boasts a walkout basement, two amazing decks, and a fully-equipped kitchen that will make your travels stress-free.

As you approach the cabin from below, following an old logging road through the woods, you'll be greeted by an excellent seating space on the front deck. This is a great spot to get acquainted with the property before entering the cabin, where you'll find a charming open-concept living room, a well-appointed kitchen, and a cozy dining area.

The wall coverings were milled from local salvaged timber, giving the cabin a unique character. The rich Red Oak floors were also sourced from the area.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies you need, including coffee, olive oil, salt and pepper, paper towels, cookware, plates, bowls, utensils, and more. You can grill out on the large grill or use the full-size range to whip up a delicious meal.

The living area features ample seating around a beautiful gas fireplace, which provides great ambiance and radiant heat with the flick of a switch!

On the same floor, you’ll find two spacious yet cozy bedrooms, both featuring large windows with queen-sized luxury memory foam mattresses, located on the same floor as a lovely full bathroom.

Step out onto the elevated back deck and relax with tranquil views of the forest below. The ceiling fans on both decks make them great outdoor living spaces that stay comfortable even on the hottest days!

Heading downstairs to the walkout basement, you'll find a spacious rec room with a big-screen Roku smart TV. YouTube TV is available for your enjoyment, and you're welcome to log in to your own streaming services as well.

Two more bedrooms with forest views are down the hall, one with a queen bed and the other with a full/twin bunk bed - ideal for larger groups or kids!

The back porch provides additional outdoor space and is a nice quiet nook to relax and enjoy the sounds and sights of the forest while working the grill. When the sun sets, head around back and enjoy the night while sitting around the fire pit with your group.

The property itself is 42 acres and is yours to explore! There are a few old logging roads that are great for hiking, but keep in mind that they aren't currently maintained, so long pants are highly recommended. While there is one other cabin (listing #7713482) within eyeshot on the property, it is 500+ feet away, so you're about as secluded as it gets!

Although the cabin is secluded, it's less than 25 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park, which offers a range of outdoor activities for visitors. Tar Hollow is also nearby and has a public swimming lake.

The last mile of the road is gravel, but it's worth it! Standard sedans are usually fine as long as you drive slowly and strategically. Sporty low-clearance vehicles should be avoided. All-wheel drive is recommended in the winter months in case there is snow on the ground.

The internet is completely free of charge and is a high-speed low latency Starlink connection, making it easy to stream video or do video calling.

We keep our base rate on the low end and charge additional guest fees based on the number in your group. There are no guest fees for the first two guests. Please be honest about the number in your group, as we reserve the right to retain the damage deposit if we find that more beds and/or towels were used than the number of guests specified.

Please note: The number of towels provided is based on the stated guest count. The housekeepers also base how many bedding sets to bring and time needed to get the place cleaned and turned over after your stay. If the guest or pet count is misstated, it may result in additional cleaning fees to be charged

We also highly recommend that you purchase your own travel insurance in case of the need to cancel due to a positive COVID case in your group.

Finally, please take note that we are not responsible for items left behind. Any items that are requested to be mailed back will cost a $100 fee plus the cost of shipping.

Hunting is only allowed if both cabins on the property are rented at the same time (#7713482 and #1781220). A $250/day fee applies.

We look forward to having you stay with us and hope you enjoy your time in the Hocking Hills!

The cabin interior, exterior, fire pit, and property and views were gorgeous. Cabin was very clean, beds and linens were made well. Heat and air work well, but bring a small blanket for cooler nights, basement rooms stay cooler. Three two person beds, two bunks. Spacious rooms. Nice hot tub, fire pit, propane grill, nice TV, stove and dishwasher, gas fireplace. No lights above hot tub, bring a portable light for there. Two pans, a few sizes of pots, one medium cookie sheet. Lots of plates, good set Might want to bring a few of your own towels if you’re staying for a couple of days. 30-40 minutes drive to the big hiking spots around there, including the time to account for the rough roads. Following the directions the host gave, roads were good gravel roads, some pot holes. One of us took a different route, Lively road almost all the way to the cabin, that was passable, but steep with big potholes, and a few very sharp switchback turns, but doable with AWD car.Hosts are very thoughtful, nice amenities like fire blankets, emergency crank lanterns, they set out some OFF-Deep Woods and sunscreen for us, not sure if that’s a regular thing. Lots of dvds, decent board games. Large table on the back deck seats six with lots of room. Watch your step on the lips of the interior stairs. Thoughtful hosts, direction and instructions were good, handwriting on the maps hard to read. Conrad road, Pole Ridge Road, Lively, Bellia, driveway on left, not the red house on right.

Everything was as described. We had an amazing stay over spring break. Our dogs loved exploring the trails on the property. The owners were super friendly, and even allowed us to modify our trip dates when we found out our son had a last minute soccer game. We can’t wait to come back again!

The cabin is a very nice and comfortable size and fit our family of five perfectly. Our daughters stayed in the bedrooms in the basement and we stayed on the main floor where we had a room to ourselves and our son had the final bedroom. There is a lot of space outside of the cabin. During the day, the kids and I explored the area with our dog. We really liked that there was only one other house near us but even that was a good walk away. Our kids enjoyed using the hot tub and we had fires at the fire pit each night during our stay. The only downside is that we didn't stay long enough!

Family outing. grand parents, kids, and grandkids; total of 10, but more could fit with sleeping bags. We're an outdoor family and this cabin is truly secluded, photos in post are 'real'. There is another cabin in proximity, but each are private. The host and communication were great and the sight had all amenities helping our stay. The cabin is fresh, clean, and held our 3 cars simply with room to spare. We had Camry, mini van, and pickup truck. All 3 vehicles did fine, however had there been snow the 4x4 would be needed. But the car & van did fine with a slow & steady approach. The simple lane approach is perfect for a remote cabin and the kids all want to return for another stay. We really appreciated the host hospitality and assistance!

This cabin offers pretty much everything you could possibly want or need! The water pressure in the showers are phenomenal, and there are plenty on extra items in the cupboard left by previous guest like syrup and sugar. I recommend that heavy sleepers stay downstairs because the bathroom door is a bit hard to shut, and the water pump is loud. Everyone who came on the trip gave it a solid stay and would love to come again!

I recently stayed at Red Oak Retreats cabin, and it was an outstanding experience. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The surrounding scenery was stunning, especially with the fresh snowfall.Greg, the host, went above and beyond to ensure our safety and comfort. During a winter storm that brought almost a foot of snow, he was incredibly helpful in making sure we could safely get out of the path. His dedication and assistance during the storm were truly appreciated. I highly recommend Red Oak Retreats and commend Greg for his extraordinary hospitality.

Beautiful surroundings!! Our only issues were not enough seating for the number of people you advertise to stay, plenty of places to sleep, but not enough for the 6 of us to sit together. It was fine if we didn't want to be together in the same room. Also, not enough lighting over the sink & hot tub. A sting of lights like on the deck would be great for over the hot tub.

cabin was very nice, good layout, location was way out in the boonies which was stated in the vrbo description. while vrbo description stated roads to take, it was very confusing, I spent about an hour on the maps trying to figure out what roads to take. We decided to use Waze mapping software in care and drove right to the cabin, all that stress for nothing, I think reenter overreacted to people using old GPS systems and not internet systems, however, on parts of the roads there was not internet available. Last 150 feet of road up mountain to cabin was in rough condition, no problem for our truck but honda odyssey struggled getting up the hill, we did not use Honda the rest of our stay. so 4wd truck or SUV is highly recommended as stated in the description for winter, I think it should be all year. we won't be coming back to this cabin unless we have a truck or SUV even though we loved the cabin and setting. Also feel that internet-based GPS (Google, Waze, Apple) will get your there.
