The Space:

Effortless Mountain Arrival

Mountain adventure doesn't have to begin with a white-knuckle drive. The road to Copperline Lodge is paved all the way to the property, where a generous driveway provides parking for 4–5 vehicles. Surrounded by woods, mountain scenery and its own private creek, this substantial stone-and-timber lodge feels wonderfully tucked away while remaining easy to reach.

First Impressions

The open great room rises beneath a dramatic vaulted ceiling, while broad windows pull the surrounding forest and mountains into view. Sink into the expansive sectional, turn on the game or a favorite movie, and let the stone gas fireplace warm the room. This is the natural gathering place where everyone can be together without ever feeling crowded.

Kitchen Command Center

Copperline's spacious kitchen is built for the way families actually vacation together. Custom wood cabinetry, stone counters and backsplash, stainless appliances, a farmhouse sink and generous workspace make everything from pancake breakfasts to holiday dinners easier. Four island stools keep the conversation going while meals come together.

The Secret Weapon: Just beyond the kitchen, a separate butler's pantry gives busy groups something they'll quickly learn to appreciate—a second full-size dishwasher, sink, coffee station and extra counter and storage space. It's also home to a well-stocked collection of small appliances, including Keurig Duo Drip and Kpod coffee maker and a traditional drip coffee maker, toaster, blender, electric tea kettle, hand mixer, electric griddle, ice-cream maker and Crock-Pot. The high chair and Pack ’n Play live here too, keeping family essentials conveniently at hand without cluttering the main living areas.

Dinner Is Served: The indoor dining table comfortably seats 6, while the extraordinary screened deck expands dining capacity to as many as 14 outdoors.

Main-Level King Retreat

The main-level King suite gives one couple a private retreat without navigating stairs. Its ensuite full bath creates an easy separation from the home's busier gathering spaces, making this an especially appealing choice for parents, grandparents or anyone who simply wants the convenience of main-level living.

A convenient main-level half bath also houses a full-size washer and dryer, making it easy to refresh towels, swimsuits or vacation clothes during longer stays. An iron and ironing board is there if you need it.

The Great Outdoors—Without Leaving the Lodge

Copperline's enormous screened deck isn't an accessory to the house—it is one of its main living spaces. Heavy timbers, stone flooring and mountain-and-forest views frame multiple areas for dining, lounging and lingering outdoors.

Gather around the towering stone wood-burning fireplace with the TV overhead, stretch out on the suspended daybed swing, or settle in for an afternoon that has absolutely nowhere else it needs to be. Two dining areas accommodate up to 14, making the deck equally suited to morning coffee, family dinners and long evenings together.

masters get choices too: gas for quick and easy cookouts, charcoal for classic flame-grilled flavor, and a wood-pellet grill/smoker when dinner deserves the slow treatment.

Downstairs, the Fun Takes Over

The terrace level gives the group another complete place to spread out. A handsome stone gas fireplace anchors the entertainment lounge, where comfortable seating and a large TV make movie nights and game days easy. Rack the balls at the pool table, pull up to the card table, or settle in with drinks while the rest of the house carries on upstairs.

The terrace wet bar goes well beyond drinks and snacks, with a full-size refrigerator, full-size dishwasher, microwave, sink, cabinetry and counter space. A Keurig Duo Drip and Kpod coffee maker and blender make the space even more useful, while dishes, glassware, flatware and bar essentials keep the downstairs crowd well supplied.

King Comfort & King-Sized Bunks

A terrace-level King bedroom gives another couple a comfortable private sleeping space away from the main level.

Bunk Beds—Copperline Style: Forget squeezing into children's bunks. The neighboring bunkroom features a custom-built King-over-King bunk bed, sleeping up to four and turning an everyday bunkroom into something decidedly more memorable. The King bedroom and bunkroom share a full bath, creating a convenient downstairs sleeping zone for a family or group.

All bedrooms have TVs except the King Bunk Room.

Terrace-Level Mountain Living

Step outside and Copperline keeps entertaining. The covered terrace brings together full-size ping-pong, high-top seating, a suspended twin daybed and another dramatic stone wood-burning fireplace. A huge TV makes this an outdoor headquarters for football Saturdays, movie nights and lazy afternoons—even when the mountain weather has other ideas.

With one gas fireplace inside and another wood-burning fireplace just outside, the terrace level can feel almost like a private lodge within the lodge.

Hot Tub Time

Just outside the screened terrace area, the covered 6-person hot tub waits in its own protected outdoor setting. Sink into the warm water after hiking, shopping or exploring Blue Ridge—or skip the day's agenda altogether and make the soak the destination.

For your comfort, the hot tub is drained, sanitized, refilled with clean mountain spring water and pH-balanced before every arrival.

Their Own Mountain Hideaway

Four Beds, One Very Cool Escape: Above the detached garage, a completely separate guest apartment gives four more guests a space of their own. Two twin beds and two full beds provide real sleeping room for kids, teens and also taller guests, while a TV, closet and private full bathroom with shower make the apartment comfortably self-contained.

For families traveling with older children or teenagers, this may become the most coveted sleeping assignment in the house—a private hideaway close to everyone, but just independent enough to feel like an adventure.

Creekside Escape

For those ready to stretch their legs, a path leads downhill through the trees to a creekside gathering area, where six chairs surround a wood-burning fire pit near the flowing water. Kids may happily make the trip up and down, while adults will want to take their time—and perhaps a breather or two—on the climb back to the lodge.

Once there, settle in beneath the trees for marshmallows, conversation and the peaceful sound of the creek nearby. It's a tucked-away bonus for guests who want to venture beyond the decks and enjoy another corner of Copperline's mountain setting.

Few mountain homes give guests this many places to gather around a fire. Copperline Lodge has four: a stone gas fireplace in the great room, a wood-burning stone fireplace on the main screened deck, another gas fireplace in the terrace entertainment room and a second wood-burning stone fireplace on the covered terrace. Whether your perfect mountain evening happens indoors or out, upstairs or down, there always seems to be a fire waiting nearby.
