Hocking Hills Chubby Frog Cabin: Game Room, Hot Tub, Fire Pit & Private Hiking!

Vicki and Steve have thought of everything when it comes to accommodating their guests! Between the beach towels for the hot tub, folding chairs for the campfire, full size shampoo and body wash, to the condiments, candy and snacks, whatever you might have forgotten at home, there is a good chance they have it! We especially enjoyed the secluded hike into Bison's Hollow! We had the entire waterfall to ourselves! I enjoy replenishing the food to feed the wildlife and then watching videos on the critter cam! And being able to do laundry so we take home clean clothes! The owners are incredibly responsive and keep a beautiful home!

This cabin remains one of our favorite places to visit. The hosts are incredible and take excellent care of the cabin & property.There are toys & activities for the kids to entertain themselves. Cabinets with snacks and pantry staples. Every time we come here I am blown away by the hospitality.The property has excellent hiking and is just a short drive from many Hocking Hills trails.We have visited in all seasons and each trip has been fantastic. This latest trip was just as the frosty winter weather was thawing out, but there was still snow on the ground. The state park trails had been packed down to sheets of ice, but the property trails were untouched powdery snow. The streams were roaring with snow melt and ice still clung to the cliffs.The entire family is already thinking about the next trip.

Best birdwatching I have experenced. I'm not even relly into it, but I could site inside the cabin and count 9-10 different species.

We had a fantastic weekend at this cabin over OU’s Dads’ Weekend. The cabin was very clean, and the hosts go out of their way to make sure the cabin is stocked with everything you need for your stay. The property is secluded and private. We enjoyed the trails, fire pit, decks, and game room. While it was just 2 of us, there would have been more than enough room for our family of 5.

Cabin was exactly as described. Appreciated having the wood provided for us to relax around the fire. The hosts went above and beyond. Would highly recommend

The Chubby Frog was perfect, very clean, just as pictured, well maintained property and cabin. We really appreciated all the hospitality, everything we needed was there. Host gave us great directions that were easy to follow to get to the property. We will definitely recommend The Chubby Frog and would stay there again. Hands down 5/5 stars!!!

Absolutely loved everything! Plenty of toys and stuff for the kids. Had everything we needed for a great weekend in the hills. Fire pit was stocked and ready to go. Best vacation rental we've stayed at yet. Loved it! Definitely coming back!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Everything you would need was provided, over and above any place we've ever stayed. The nature was amazing. A bird watcher's paradise! The beds are comfortable, and the decor is centered around the name of the cabin, Chubby Frog, and is rightly named for the charming pond where frogs hang out. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the cabin. The little extras like the snacks and walkie talkies were that little bit that made the stay all the more worthwhile. The location felt a little remote, but it was nice to be away from the hub bub and the stars were spectacular to see. And the hottub was invaluable after long days of hiking. The only thing I would say is that it was a little smaller than the pictures made it seem. With 5 people we still managed alright. Vicki's instructions ahead of time and all the info at the cabin show they take pride in their rental and making sure their guests have what they need.

The cabin was beautiful! It was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Even the fire pit was ready all we had to do was light it. The cabin was clean and just as pictured. We will definitely stay here again!!

Staying here was easy and fun- we wanted a nice place to stay for a long weekend away and we really hit it out of the park with the Chubby Frog! The cabin is well-stocked and there were plenty of beds and bathrooms for our family of four. I would definitely stay here again!

Chubby Frog has just about anything one could want! We stayed with 6 adults but the cabin was stocked for all ages. The hosts think of absolutley everything from bug spray to marshmellows. Its remote, quiet, and private. Huge highlight is all the wildlife. We will be back again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Chubby Frog cabin very much. The cabin was well stocked and clean and had everything you could think of for a great family weekend...games and puzzles, binoculars and bird guides, walkie talkies, campfire supplies (including s'more ingredients!), bug spray, towels, recommendations for where to go and what to do in the area including maps, detailed information about every aspect of the cabin amd the area, etc. ...and the hosts could not have been more helpful when we had an issue with one of our cars right before leaving. I highly recommend this gem of a place!

We stayed at the Chubby Frog Cabin for 5 days and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The location is perfect—peaceful, scenic, and surrounded by nature. We saw plenty of wildlife during our stay, which made the trip even more special.The cabin itself was spotless and well-stocked with everything we needed. It’s clear that the owners take great care to make sure guests are comfortable. Speaking of the owners—they were amazing. There was an unexpected issue with the WiFi (not their fault), and they went above and beyond by coming out that same evening with a hotspot. This was a huge help since my wife is a grad student and had assignments due.Communication throughout was excellent. The owners were incredibly responsive and made us feel well taken care of from start to finish.Highly recommend the Chubby Frog Cabin—we’d definitely stay here again

This place has it all!! With 3 bedrooms, each with their own en suite bath, makes it perfect for a family, girls weekend or a getaway with friends. The property was very clean upon our arrival and stocked with lots of amenities. The owners supplied everything we needed for our stay from towels and linens to soaps, toothbrushes, paper products, laundry detergent, first aid suppplies, plus so much more! They even graciously provided a partially stocked fridge and freezer and a ton of snacks and pantry items! The location is perfect! Very secluded with tons of wildlife to watch. My 7 yr old especially, loved putting extra food(provided by owners) out for the animals and then waiting to watch them all devour it! Deer, raccoons, squirrels, giant turkeys and so many dfferent kinds of beautiful birds just to name a few! This cabin is just a short drive to all the local attractions, Old man's cave was probably our favorite. I highly recommend staying here, I know we will next time we are in the Hocking Hill area!

We had an amazing stay at Chubby Frog cabin. The home is absolutely stunning. Vicki and Steve are amazing hosts. They communicated with us almost instantly when we had a question. The property and surrounding nature preserve are both beautiful. We were able to walk out the front door and go on a wonderful hike. The home is stocked with everything you can think of for your stay. There were kitchen pantry basics, as well as snacks and candy. We can’t say enough about Chubby Frog Cabin. Stayed for a long weekend and this property was perfect. Good location, not far from the State Park, but secluded enough for a relaxing cabin experience.Everything was clean, well maintained, and functional. The property owners really care about your experience too and it shows. 5 Stars all the way!

The hosts are very welcoming and great at communicating. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable and there were many updates throughout the home. The hosts provided lots of snacks, meal basics, condiments, drinks, soaps and paper products which most rentals don't provide. The teens loved having their own space to hang out in the lower level. They also enjoyed having the large, clean hot tub. Outside is like being in a park. Very beautiful grounds for exploring. The location is ideal with the drive to many of the state parks close by. Great experience from booking to check out.

This is our fourth time staying at the Chubby Frog and it was fantastic. We have stayed at other houses in Hocking Hills, and this is the best.There is so much we love about this place that it is hard to find a know where to start this review. When I first tried to write this I ran into the 1500 character limit for reviews. So just know that this is only the highlights and things we love the most.The owners are very communicative and reached out before we stayed to provide customized directions to the property. They recognized that we were repeat visitors and gave us a discount on the stay. We happened to book this trip over Valentines weekend, and when we arrived we found a valentines bouquet tailored for a family with children.We forgot maple syrup for our pancakes, but the well stocked kitchen had a full bottle.While we were there we had all weather; sun, rain, & snow. Since the property directly abuts Bison Hollow, you can spend hours each day hiking without ever driving anywhere.If the weather is bad & you don't want to leave the house, there are cozy chairs, extra pillows, and extra blankets. The bird feeders ensure you always have something to look at out the many large windows.On our last day it snowed enough that we were concerned we wouldn't be able to make it out to the main roads, and the owner offered that we could stay without charge until the roads were cleared. They actually reached out to us before we could reach out to them!

We came to refresh after the holidays. Most days were rainy, but the hiking was still great. The rain made the creek and waterfalls really move fast. The house was well stocked and extremely clean. Lots of wildlife, games to play, and a hot tub to relax. Great place!

This was our gift for Christmas this year. The property was exactly as pictured. It was probably the most stocked rental we've ever stayed in! We thoroughly appreciated the box fans in each bedroom as we all sleep with fans and had to leave ours behind due to space. Vicki was great to work with and answered any questions we had. We loved the hot tub!! The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and she provided plenty of paper products! We truly only had to bring our groceries. It was great!! We loved how excluded we were too. It was a perfect 4 day getaway for us!

The location of the cabin is completely private and isolated. Surrounded by nature and beauty! The cabin itself is very well equipped with everything you need to make you feel at home. The water is fresh and does not have a funky smell like some cabins in HH are known for. Highly recommend!

Vicki was such a lovely host. My husband and I had an amazing four days there. I would totally recommend you folks to book now. It was literally home away from home. We enjoyed the entire property so much, the views are amazing. The bees were a bit fussy at times and wanted to drink with us lol. We definitely plan on booking again, thanks again Vicki ☺️

We stayed at the Chubby Frog and found the place to be clean, comfortable, and well stocked with items that may have been forgotten or needed. The Chubby Frog is off the beaten path but in the heart of Hocking Hills and close to a wonderful winery. The host left many helpful notes and brochures to help guide us in making decisions of what to do in the area other than hiking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!
