The Hygge [pronounced, Hoo-Gah] is the third and largest design by Box Hop team (Emily & Seth Britt). Using 7 shipping containers, the design is laid out and created with larger groups and families in mind. The open floor plan and five bedrooms leave plenty of room to bring the party with you! Although the Hygge is quite minimalistic, there are no luxuries spared. If you’re not out enjoying Hocking Hills, you can cozy up to one of our matching suspended wood-burning fireplaces.
<br>Only 12 miles from Hocking Hills State Park, 5 miles from Cantwell Cliffs, 8 miles from Rock House trail -- there are endless activities in this area. To name a few: zip-lining & canopy tours, canoeing trips, hiking & biking trails, fishing, and horseback riding. There are also several local shops, restaurants, breweries, scenic tours and the John Glenn Astronomy Park.

If you’re not out enjoying Hocking Hills, you can cozy up to one of our matching suspended wood-burning fireplaces located both inside and outside the box.

When you arrive to the Hygge, take notice of the Scandi vibe and unique look - can you tell it was built with shipping containers Wait until you see the back side where four of the bedrooms have their own private patio created from the doors of the containers. Mighty yet minimal this one.

INSIDE HIGHLIGHTS:
Five bedrooms; 3 queen size beds & 2 full size beds
Two full bathrooms - one on each floor
Two suspended wood-burning fireplaces - one inside and one outside
Full kitchen stocked with cookware & serving dishes
Washer and dryer
Air mattress (queen) available

Tucked in the back corner of the eighteen+ acres of the property, you are welcome to hike and explore or simply sit on your private patio with coffee in hand. You could also take that coffee or a cocktail into the spa enclosure outside and soak in Mother Nature from the Sauna or Hot tub that come with awesome views of a wooded ravine.

The first floor deck extends the living space outside with large outdoor couches and chairs, a suspended fireplace, and a gas grill. There is lots of room on the deck to pull out corn hole, ring toss, or any other eventful shenanigans.

OUTSIDE HIGHLIGHTS:
Large deck overlooking the ravine
Suspended wood-burning fireplace
Gas grill
Enclosed/Covered Spa Area
Hot tub
Sauna
18.5 acres to hike and explore

This place was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. The fresh layer of snow made the property that much more beautiful! It was fun to use the hot tub amd sauna even in the cold temps!

We rented the Hygge for our entire family— parents, adult children and their kids and partners —to spend the Christmas holiday together. It was pretty much perfect: the home was cozy, private, well furnished (comfortable furniture and bedding, lots of kitchen supplies ), and it was even decorated for the holidays upon our arrival with a tree with lights and stockings hung. That was such a special touch. We loved the sauna and hot tub, and we also enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and grill. It is located close enough to some great Hocking Hills attractions, like Rock House, but we mainly enjoyed staying in, cooking, playing games, and being together, and the space allowed us to do so comfortably. We would rent from Box Hop again!

absolutely loved our stay at the BoxHop Hygge! It was spotless when we arrived, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy. The location felt perfectly secluded and peaceful, tucked in the woods of hocking hills. The design was so unique and creative—built from shipping containers, which made it even cooler. I've stayed a lot of places in hocking but none quite like this! A truly memorable getaway. Highly recommend!

A truly unique Hocking Hills experience. Let me say that any pictures on VRBO or through The Box Hop's website do not do it justice. First the location is fantastic such that you feel you are in the middle of nowhere but you are 10 minutes from downtown Logan and other shopping areas while being so close to all of the beautiful hiking destinations. I believe we were 20 minutes to the furthest point of interest we wanted to see. The home itself is the star. Created with shipping containers as well as added on deck and separate hot tub/sauna area. It is such a perfect place to hang out with family or friends either inside or outside. the outside deck has a partially covered area next to the house that has an outdoor suspended fireplace as well as a large covered outdoor portion that houses the hot tub and sauna. Our weather was a combo of sun and rain so it really helped to have ample space to be outdoors but out of the rain. While we didn't use the sauna (it was a sauna outdoors) it looks so fun and would love to try it again in the fall. Also important to us was the fact that the home is handicap accessible and we had no problem sharing our experience with my disabled niece . Also of note is that the driveway into the property splits off to two more Box Hop homes so that, if you did have a larger group you can easily split it up amongst the three houses. The indoor space in modernly appointed and a perfect place hang out when not hiking or using the outdoor space. In the main living room there is also a suspended fireplace just like the outdoor space so in the fall this would be so perfect. The owners communicated well and were available if there was a problem but there was no need as our trip went perfectly. Will definitely stay again at one of the Box Hop's properties.

This was our 3rd stay at a Box Hop property and The Hygge is a gorgeous! Everything was spotless and the little extras they provide in the tote bag are so thoughtful and appreciated. The decor is beautiful and layout of The Hygge is so spacious. Spectacular wooded views out of every single room and we even saw some deer roaming through the trees while sitting in the living room area. We had a fantastic stay at The Hygge Box Hop and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Hocking Hills area.

We always love staying at the Hygge. Management is responsive and helpful, and the property is always clean and welcoming. The drive up is beautiful and easy, and once you're there, it’s a wonderful area to explore on foot. The bathrooms are spacious and spotless, and they’ve done a great job making the most of every part of the cabin. Ending the day in the hot tub or sauna is always a highlight!

Second time staying in one of your cabins. First time in Hygge. Downstairs bathroom door was locked from the inside. Came to get away but would have been nice if internet had worked so the kids could watch movies at night. Otherwise enjoyed out time.

The place was great, the hosts were very attentive. The cleaning from the previous party was sub par but I’m somewhat of a Monica Gellar when it comes to that stuff. Would stay here again

We absolutely loved staying at The Hygge Box Hop! I scheduled a girls night for four of my friends. It was so lovely to have so much space for ourselves as we are all working moms, and the house was so quiet! We especially enjoyed the sauna, the well appointed kitchen, and the super comfy beds! Thank you, we will be back!

This is our second time staying at the Box Hop to celebrate our (now) 22nd wedding anniversary. As we did last year, dear friends joined us, and we all were just blown away by the spaciousness, the decor, the amenities, and location. Everything could have not been more perfect for a much-needed relaxation getaway for all of us, really. Loved the sauna, hot tub, and pull -down TV projector screen. We did not grill due to the drought burn ban, but we took advantage of the awesome kitchen and had amazing meals together. Everything was so comfortable, and it was a blessing to be in the woods, in nature. The Hygge deserves a 5-star rating for sure. THANK YOU to Emily and Seth for creating such wonderful places for all of us to enjoy!

Our recent stay was generally good, but there are a few areas that could use improvement to enhance the overall experience. We enjoyed the unqiue structure and Scandinavian design. We felt the price per night was appropriate and found the property to be situated in a convenient area. The kitchen was functional but lacked some basic essentials. Items such as a oil olive, sharper knives, and drying rack would be greatly appreciated. There are no window coverings in the house. The views are great, but bring a sleeping mask if you want to sleep in after the sunrise! The upstairs bathroom is functional, but very small. With a large group it was difficult to get ready as there is no counterspace or place to set any toiletries. Adding a small table or shelving to place items would be helpful. The sink in the downstairs bathroom was hard to use, the facet almost touches the bottom of the sink. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciate the host's effort in maintaining the property. They responded quickly when we had a problem arise. We appreciated the house guide with instructions.
