Historic Rustic Original Horse-Drawn Wood-Built Cabin with Bear Creek Pond Access & Bald Eagle Nest Near Hope, Alaska

This Cabin is the original cabin here at Hope Alaska's Lodge. Completely built with horse-drawn wood, this is a flashback into Alaska's history. There simply is no better way to experience Alaska than at this original cabin.



The space

With two comfy beds, one queen and one double bed, you'll sink right into your own getaway from the noise and busy-ness of your regular life. Yes, most cell phones work here (sorry about that), but you'll quickly forget about that as youtake in Bear Creek Pond out front and Bear Creek itself out back. A bald eagle nests each summer just outside of your cabin in an old Birch tree, and salmon spawn each fall in Bear Creek. Take a peddle boat or canoe for a spin on Bear Creek Pond. And then visit Dirty Skillet, the lodge's private restaurant open seasonally for dinner. Dirty Skillet serves authentic mining camp experiences, with hearty, heaping and home-cooked style foods.



Guest access

The entire 8 acres is open to our guests. Our property borders the borough land with hundreds more acres of amazing hiking and exploring, all ending at the mouth of the ocean, so it's impossible to lose your way.



Our guests will also have free access to Bear Creek Pond, our private body of water, with peddle boat and canoe access. We provide life jackets for all guests.



Be sure to bring your camera! This property is a photographer's dream with beautiful sites and quirky touches all throughout.



Other things to note

WiFi is available in the lodge’s restaurant and deck right next door.



This is a “dry cabin” with no indoor plumbing. The shared Wash Hut is nearby with toilets and hot showers. There are no laundry facilities.



Once you book, we will text you with a confirmation. Within 2 days of arrival, you will receive another text with information on how to expedite your check-in process. The link texted will include information on the latest WiFi password, shower code access, hours of the lodge and restaurant, how to get extra towels, and information on check-in.
