Caldwell, Texas
Come for the view and relax in our rustic hilltop cabin! There are many bright stars at night here, and the sunsets are amazing. Our studio cabin overlooks the valley of the East Yegua Creek. The cabin includes a king bed, comfortable reclining sofa, kitchen, BBQ grill, and private bathroom. You can explore as much of our 30-acre property as you would like. We would be happy to give a garden tour or introduce you to some of our farm animals at your request. There is a playground, fishing in a small pond, hike wooded trails and garden areas. We are 45 minutes west of Bryan-College Station, less than one hour north of Round Top and 90 minutes to Austin. We have a larger cottage option available on the same property for 4 guests if you'd like to check it out too - search for "hilltop cottage." A 10% discount is available for weekly stays.
I wasn’t sure about the drive especially at night but it was worth driving in that darkness… because once I got near there was beautiful Christmas lighting on the property. I was there for work but felt like I was at a get away. I had option to not be disturbed w no Wi-Fi on or connect to Wi-Fi to get access to calls/work. It was so beautiful. I loved it and will be back. The scenery plant and animal life are just gorgeous and a true blessing. The only thing I didn’t like was there was a tres that I think was cut or fell down possibly cedar full of stuff on it and I am very allergic… so next time I go I’m taking Benadryl with me.
The owners have always been very accommodating to our needs. The sunsets at the fire pit are to die for, and the farm animals give the place a real homey vibe! All that said, we know where we will stay next time we visit Caldwell.
My wife & I have stay at the cabin several times in recent years. It is everything we need it to be, and the owners are very accommodating with any concerns. The property is beautiful and the sunsets are incredible! Our stays here have always been wonderful.
Cozy cabin with beautiful sunrises. Really enjoyed my stay. Scott and Jenna are great host.
Very nice little place to spend some quiet time. Definitely off the beaten path which is fine! Pretty much everything you need can be found here. Would definitely recommend checking this quaint little place out! You won’t be disappointed!
This place was perfect! Cozy and felt like home! Stars are amazing at night and sunset was perfect! Just bring some groceries before you head up! They had all the cooking utensils and even oil and seasonings! They had little snacks which was perfect!
Lovey cabin , fully stocked with everything you’d need , relaxing and peaceful environment , ideal for disengaging from everyday life. Highly recommend it !
We stayed here in April 2023, week before Easter. The property is fantastic with everything you could need for a nice country getaway. The hosts were very prompt with providing the details of how to access the property and the cottage, while also providing privacy during the stay. While it was a bit further out of town than i had expected, we quickly adjusted and brought all that we needed after each days adventures, so we could enjoy our evenings looking over the beautiful valley. There are some farm animals that roam near the cottage, which really brings home the country vibe. Although our last day was rainy all day, we slept in and enjoyed some farm fresh eggs our hosts had so generously provided. Definitely would recommend.
We came from Houston, TX and wanted to get away from the city for a little bit and this ñlace was just perfect. Super safe (gated property) and easy to get to (paved road for the most part). My wife and I had our 1 year old and our small dog with us and the cabin fit us perfectly. The place was super clean and had absolutely everything a small family needs. Stuff like: Kitchenware, Toilet paper, towels, coffee maker, microwave, dtove, fridge (with 1/2 dozen fresh eggs from their chickens),night tables on both sides with power outlets to charge your devices, a TV, clean sheets, board games and maganzines. I mean, TOP Notch!! Things I recommend bringing: Trash bags, OFF spray for bugs, personal care items, disposable pads for your pet, fishing rod, items to grill (coal, etc) they do have a small grill available. Anyways, I would definitely come back. The hosts are very helpful and they live next door so, easy to contact them.
The Farm on a Hill was a great place to stay for a weekend of shopping at Round Top and Warrenton. It was about an hour drive, but the cabin was very cozy and worth the drive. If you’re looking for a remote getaway, this is it!
Exactly as described such a beautiful and quiet place to get away
Nice, quiet and peaceful! Stayed here for a night on a business trip and would much rather stay here than a hotel!
The property is exactly as advertised and even better. Pond is much better than picture. Little close to owners house but you will not be disappointed! No roadsign for 362 but finding it is worth the effort. It is 3.7 miles from from Hwy 696 with last .7 being road to farm. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
I have stayed here a few times now. The owner is kind and interactive. The property is immaculate and majestic in its raw state. Every time I’m there I see the hand of God, jus miracles and majesty all around through all his creations. This property honors life and nature and there is an overwhelming peace I feel when I’m there. Sunsets, starry nights, sunrises, birds chirping so many wonderful things to experience. It has been both a treat and retreat for me even though I’m there for work when I go. After a long day of work coming to this place is as close to home as it gets. It has made it easier for me to be away from family and loved ones when I stay here. The only thing that I consider a challenge is that I drive a car so if the weather is bad you should go in a truck or SUV. It stormed the other day and waters flooded many areas that are the path to get to the property and trees/tree branches were blocking the path. Regardless I was able to make it safely after finding ways around it. It is not the fault of the owner or property I’m just communicating this so people are prepared when they travel. My car can get up and down the hill to park as long as I stay on the gravel etc. Overall I love this place and have taken some beautiful pictures of this place. Finally the owners are just so welcoming. They set things up to make it a welcoming experience while respecting personal yet are open to take you on tours. Great people great place. Reasonable pricing too. Totally worth a trip and stay out there.
Our stay was lovely! The cabin is beautiful and charming! The bathroom does get a bit humid during showers because there's no fan, but we opened the window and that helped. It was great to have local coffee available in the morning. I wish we could have stayed longer to check out all the activities. Overall a great property in a quiet and remote area, definitely recommend!
Had a great experience at the cutest cabin. Had everything we needed for the night and had a great little staycation! Would highly suggest for couples and friends!
I booked the cabin since it had dual recliners and was affordable. We arrived later than we planned but the directions took us straight to the cabin. The drive way up to the cabin was not paved and I did turn around before going down it due to it's incline. My mother in law who is on a walker was able to get down the walkway steps/path to the door and step up into cabin. There was a cute festive Christmas tree and decoration on the coffee table. Coffee and creamer was provided so had to run about 15 min into Caldwell to get some drinks and food. It's about 15 min give or take into Caldwell or Lexington. Owners were very responsive and very nice to visit with and learn about the farm. Very family friendly! Great hot water pressure. The bed was a bit firmer than I am used too but slept well. Definitely recommend for a country getaway. Wifi available with Roku TV.
Google maps did indeed take us right to it. Once there, we were very happy with everything. Any questions we had we're promptly addressed quickly via text with the owners.I will definitely stay here again, given the opportunity!! The owners were very accommodating but not at all intrusive.
If you are looking for a quite place you will find it here. I would like to live in a place like that. I could watch the deer. Birds and cows. Wish they had a hummingbird feeder then they would stay around longer. Never met the host. But they are lucky having a property like that. He was right about using google maps took me to the right place. Seems like I drove longer getting there, then coming home. Must have missed a turn someplace. Phone dropped maps 3 times so had to reset again. If I had any negative thing it would be my text went unanswered but overall nice little trip.
