Nestled in the wooded hillsides of the George Washington National Forest, High View Hideaway provides a serene retreat from the stresses of urban life and is the perfect base to enjoy all the Lost River area has to offer from hiking and fishing to cycling and more. Completely refreshed in 2019, this cozy cabin offers a large queen bedroom and full bath, as well as an open living/dining area, updated kitchen, large deck, and screened-in porch perfect for taking in nature's sights and sounds.r>
The Space
High View Hideaway boasts a well-equipped open plan kitchen and living/dining area that leads out onto a large deck nestled among the treetops and a screened-in porch, perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks. The wood burning stove offers additional charm, as well as an excellent source of heat on chilly nights.

The bedroom features vaulted ceilings, a queen bed, and cozy reading nook along with a large walk-in closet with hand-made shelving that provides generous storage space for all your getaway garb.

The cozy living area is the perfect place to cuddle up with a book, play a game, or watch a movie on our large-screen HD TV.

While The Hideaway is the perfect spot to fully unplug and unwind, we understand the pressures of modern day may require a connection to the outside world so we’ve wired the cabin with fiber optic high-speed internet and wi-fi access, as well as a large screen TV with Amazon Fire TV so you can catch your favorite movie, sporting event, or television series.

The cabin sits on 4 acres of wooded hillside grounds frequented by all forms of wildlife. It’s not uncommon to wake up to deer peering through the bedroom window or enjoying a midday snack among the lush greenery.

Guest Access
While we get away to High View Hideaway whenever our schedules allow, the cabin will be all yours during your time there.

Other Things to Note
The premise is equipped with an exterior Nest camera facing the drive up to the cabin. It is used for security purposes only and monitored only when the property is vacant.

Looking for a solo retreat, this cabin was the perfect spot. My day was over a series of rainy days and the cabin was perfectly cozy and comfortable for staying inside with a book.

The owners were so easy to work with. They were very prompt to answer any questions we sent them and went out of their way to make sure our stay was great.

My family and I spent Thanksgiving at this cabin and enjoyed ourselves. The property is just as peaceful, secluded, and the cabin is just as cozy as advertised. The hosts provided all the information we needed to get in, out, use the wood stove, etc. The kitchen was well stocked for its size. Sleeps two adults and two kids comfortably between the bed and air mattress. The place was a bit too small for two young kids to play comfortably inside, which was tough when it got freezing cold outside. All in all, I would definitely recommend to an adult or couple, but less so for kids.

Incredibly well-kept cabin in a beautiful location, absolutely everything we needed to enjoy some time away. Easy to access and close enough to recreation, restaurants, and shops to suit every need. One of the best stoves I’ve ever cooked on. Perfect porches. Clearly lots of care went into the home!

Absolutely loved this place! 5 stars all around. The decor, the location, the amenities and especially the communication/information from the owners. I will definitely return to the solitude this cabin offered.

Nice, peaceful stay. The weather didn't cooperate but the cabin was fine. Plenty of things to do in the area.

My 26 year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the High View Hideaway.  Although it dropped to 17 degrees during our visit, we were always comfortable.  The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our trip.  The cabin is a bit off the trail, but we knew that going in and we were easily able to find some nice local trails to explore.  The Big Schloss trail was our favorite.  Since we both work remotely, I should also mention that the WIFI worked just fine.  Thanks Cynthia and Jonathan for a great stay!

Upon arrival, the cabin was very clean and well-organized. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our week-long vacation over New Year's. The location is very secluded, and it was nice to get away from the busy life to relax and recover here.
