Our 2 families of 5 had a wonderful stay. The lodge is spacious, we were all able to find our own space! The kids slept in the basement and enjoyed the air hockey and the hot tub. One family slept on the main floor. The other family slept on the second floor. We cooked and ate at the lodge and also out at restaurants. It was convenient having an Ingles at the bottom of the mountain. Thank you for sharing your lodge with us.
Place was amazing! Location was perfect. My husband saw a bear in the driveway! That was very cool. House was very clean! There were only a couple things we did not like. There is no fire pit or bonfire area. They said it’s a community ordinance. A cabin in the mountains….. that is a must! The listing needs to say that. The kitchen needs different pots and frying pans and definitely a griddle. We had a heck of a time trying to make breakfast every day while we were there. The pans are terrible. And you definitely need more than 1 hand towel and dish cloths. Overall, place was great location was perfect.
Great property, we’ll be back!
We had a great time celebrating a birthday weekend and staying in the cabin. Everyone said it was beautiful, peaceful, and wished we had booked it longer. We will return.
Great house. Loved the layout. Mountain views were good. Could do some tree trimming to allow for more mountain top views. Could also do some brush trimming to allow for better views into the forest floor surrounding the property. Supplies were a little lean. Not enough paper towels, laundry tablets, dishwasher tablets, dish towels, coat hangers, or hand soap. In generally, kitchen was minimally stocked. We made do, but it needs work. You'll also have to deal with paying fees to VRBO and a 4th party called Carolina Mornings. They'll add additional paperwork and stipulations. Everything else was great.
We had a wonderful experience on this property. The house was beautiful, clean, spacious, everything and more than we could have wanted for a celebration with friends and family. We hiked, visited Asheville a few times, hung out, cooked, and had an amazing time. Thank you!
Was fine. Kitchen was not adequate with utensils and cookware. The air hocked and foosball tables were not well maintained. Air hockey paddles were broken and we had to repair them repeatedly. Foosball handles were missing or slipping off. One or two of the players were not functioning. Cornhole bags were leaking sand.
My family really enjoyed our stay here. The house is very convenient to downtown Black Mountain, downtown Asheville, and The Blue Ridge Parkway. The house is very quiet with really comfy rooms, and lots of space to hangout with family or take some time to yourself. Highly recommended!
Great location!
Great property
We visited this house for the second time with a group of friends. Hope to return again one day!
Very clean and comfortable….perfect vacation. Great views on top of the mountain, yet close to grocery store and all the sites we wanted to explore. We highly recommend his cabin! We’d love to come back again with the whole family!!!
My overall experience with this property was great. The cabin was very neat and clean and extremely spacious. The rental process was easy from start to finish. My friends and I will definitely rebook here at a later date.
Perfect family retreat. Beautiful surroundings. Lodge and location great. Nice layout, tons of seating in and out, for conversation. Playroom is great. We understand well water like septic systems, require a little understanding. Bathing has to be reserved/assigned. One person can shower at a time and you can't run the D/W or the washer. Be mindful of what you flush. NP for us, the location was well worth it. We used the hot tub and grill with NP. Beds, TVs, AC, all good. Towels not fancy but fine. Kitchen was basically well stocked with plenty of mugs, glasses, utensils, cookie sheets and OK flatware. The scratched IKEA dinnerware should be replaced. Four different coffee makers. The K-cup machine, which is our preferred, was one cup at a time, and slow. There was a blender, lots of plastic pitchers, an electric mixer, cheese grater, strainer, measuring cup, plenty of cookie sheets and utensils. Serving containers were limited; one nice large salad bowl, two ceramic rectangular casserole dishes, one ceramic soufflé bowl and one platter. I'm a cook and I missed having more mixing bowls but there were three large stainless ones. There are only 3 pots and 2 skillets. I managed. D/W was unstable and needs attention, but works. In two of the walk-in closets, there were desks and lamps. So funny, I had to take a photo. My son-in-law, greatly appreciated the private work space. One of the smoke alarms started beeping so my husband called the after-hours phone number and got a quick repair. I had a question about using the Mountain Discovery Pass at the Biltmore so I called the management office only to find that it isn't open to help with that on weekends. Do your homework. Asheville close and loads of outdoor areas to explore. Little trick in directions. On the last stretch of the drive to the house, there is a Y, go left or you end up in someone else's driveway. Not well marked. Best of all, WE SAW BLACK BEAR, once near the lodge and three times crossing roads. So cool, but don't feed or approach. Pretty sure they live in peace with the community. Also saw wild turkey. Saw the owner once working on the road not far from the house. Nice, quiet guy. Book now for family fun. Great place!
Wonderful property - you feel away from it all, when in actuality, you are close to the fun city of Black Mountain and the Ingles grocery store. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay.
