Welcome to High Point Hideout, a one of a kind mountain top log cabin perfectly positioned on the way to Yellowstone National Park. Located between the historic town of Cody and Yellowstone's East Entrance, this panoramic retreat offers sweeping views and a cozy cabin basecamp. Set high above the valley floor, you will enjoy unmatched mountain scenery, frequent wildlife sightings, and easy access to the North Fork Highway along the Shoshone River for fishing, hiking, and exploring. Please note that Yellowstone's East Entrance is closed to regular vehicle traffic from November 1 through May 1, with winter access available by guided snowcoach or snowmobile tours.

Inside, this unique western cabin has rustic charm and a distinctive layout perfect for families or small groups. The fully equipped kitchen features a vintage stove, and the cozy living area invites you to gather and unwind after a day of adventure. The main level offers a queen bedroom and full bathroom with tub and shower combination. Upstairs, a separate loft style bedroom with two queen beds is accessed by an interior ladder or exterior stairs, adding to the authentic cabin experience. With space for up to six guests, and optional sleeping cots available, this home is ideal for families, couples, or friends traveling together.

Step outside onto the wraparound porch and multiple decks to take in breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, sip your morning coffee, or simply listen to the quiet of the mountains. With its elevated setting, western character, and unforgettable views, High Point Hideout offers a peaceful and adventurous home base between Cody and Yellowstone.

*This property does not have AC. At night temperatures drop to the 55 or 60 degrees and low to no humidity, opening windows at night cools the property down and lets in the fresh mountain air!

*There is approximately 1.7 miles of unpaved road going to the cabin. This mountain road is generally accessible to passenger cars, SUVs, and trucks during dry weather conditions. In periods of wet or inclement weather, the roadway may become hazardous. Under such conditions, access should be attempted only with properly equipped all- wheel or four-wheel drive vehicles.

**This property does not have laundry facilities; the town of Cody does offer 2 laundromats.

The cabin was a great location between Cody and Yellowstone. It is remote so you must be prepared to not have Wi-Fi or cell. Our ATT had very limited service and none inside the cabin. The 2nd bedroom has it's own entrance from the outside or also through a ladder in the 1st floor. Kids will love it. The TV is via satellite which was fine however the TV is approximately a 24-32 inch screen. Also the road to get to the cabin is dirt and a slow drive. Beautiful, but slow. We had a 4-wheel drive truck, which managed all terrain well. The wind was also something we didn't expect. It was very windy at the elevation of the cabin. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathroom was fine. I recommend this site for a home base when visiting the area.

We stayed in the cabin for our Yellowstone vacation. While it was only 45 minutes from the East entrance, we didn't take into account all of the driving around Yellowstone (not to mention the 24 hour drive from Michigan). The cabin itself was nice and it was quite nice to be away from technology (no cell service and no wifi). The only thing that we wished the cabin had was more cooking utensils. Other than that, it was a wonderful place to stay.

We booked this property for our trip to visit Yellowstone. The cabin is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Plentiful very hot water for showers. A big deck with great views. Our kids loved having their own room up stairs with queen sized beds. The property is about half way from Cody to Yellowstone's east entrance. The road up to the property is pretty steep and can be rough. However for the price you can’t go wrong.

They stay at high point was really quite magical! The cabin is very neat and clean, and has amazing sweeping views of the mountains. We stayed here to commute back and forth to Yellowstone. We chose to enter the east entrance since that is the least frequented entrance of the park. The dirt road is quite steep and windy to get to so if you’re renting a car, make sure it’s at least some kind of SUV with AWD. If there is a quick rainstorm, the road can get slick. The cabin has no wifi and no cell service. Not a deal breaker for us, but understand how it can be for some, which is why I’m including that in the review. If you want to listen to any music be sure to download any playlists to your devices before arriving. The stars at night are breathtaking, there are plenty of glasses, mugs, plates and utensils if you decide to shop at the local grocery store for provisions. All in all we had an excellent stay here with 4 adults and were very comfortable. The only way to access the bathroom from the loft is the super cool built in ladder, or walking down the steps from the outside.

Cabin worked well for us. View was amazing! Cell signal not so good. Our trip was cut short. I would definitely revisit this cabin.
