You’ve found it, this is the place! At Hidden Valley Retreat you can have that family getaway where you can relax (finally). Sit out on the back deck and enjoy the peacefulness of the water running along the creek, welcome the sun with a hot cup of coffee or even splash and play in a good ol’ cold mountain creek. Play a few rounds of horseshoes or try your luck at creek fishing. Who knows, you might catch a fish or two. Then you can spend the evening watching the glow of a warm, crackling fire in the fire pit. Hidden Valley Retreat sleeps 8 guests comfortably in 2 separate rooms; both have a door out to the deck. Each room has a queen size bed and a set of bunk beds. A wood burning fireplace, ready to cook kitchen, and charcoal & gas grill will round out your stay nicely. For the kids, there is a small play set off the front deck and a foosball table on the back deck – and the squirrels are always eager to entertain in exchange for a little corn!

Located in Smithville just 30 minutes north of Hochatown, Broken Bow Lake, and Beavers’ Bend State Park; Hidden Valley Retreat sits on over 20 acres that is available for you to explore. Discover the beauty of Kiamichi Country in the rock bluffs you will climbing and hiking across, bring your bicycles and tour the property, walk the creek bank; there is so much to appreciate out here. When you leave for the day, if you leave for the day – you can canoe and float the upper Mt. Fork River less than a mile away. Pick one of the many hiking or ATV trails that are within 30 minutes of the cabin. Or you can take a day trip to Beavers’ Bend and Hochatown, or cross the state line to explore Mena, AR.

With so much to do outside at Hidden Valley Retreat we hope you take the chance to truly explore and enjoy yourself. However, we do ask that you use caution since nature is full of….well… Please stay alert and familiarize yourself with the local plants and wildlife if you plan on getting to far from the beaten path. Hidden Valley is still a producing hay farm and improper use of the ATVs can destroy a field, so we do restrict you from riding the ATVs in the pasture. And of course, ATVs are not allowed on the creek bank or in the creeks.

The cabin has an easy access parking area with plenty of room for boats and ATV trailers.

The property was nice and quiet. I thought the cabin needed a good spring cleaning. I went to use a pot to cook pasta and the cabinet looked like everything was thrown in there with a 12 pack of soda thrown on top. I am a cancer patient and had difficulty grabbing what I needed. My granddaughter took a shower and after a couple hours of walking around her feet were black. Our daughters showed up in the evening and I went to put all the porch lights on to help her find the cabin because it’s set back on the property. A lot of the bulbs were burnt out and also a few inside the house. The steps going to the cabin were a little scary. The day we arrived we couldn’t get in because we were sent the wrong code. Had to call for the code and it was different from what we received. My granddaughter was sleeping on a bunk bed and in the middle of the night a slat fell to the ground and woke some of the guest up. The bed looked like it was going to hold the mattress up so she went back to bed. About an hour later another slat fell off. She refused to lay back on it. The next day the maintenance man stopped by because he heard we had problems getting in, lol, the next day. We told him about the bunk bed and told him both bunk beds are a little wobbly. He looked at them and said he didn’t know why no one had ever reported it before. He said he would be back after Sunday to fix them. Good thing we brought air mattress. The outside patio furniture could be cleaned also.

Our family, including 8 year old boy and doodle dog, enjoyed every minute of our stay! The property and river were perfect for our active crew. We loved spending time on the porch, walking the property, and playing down by the river. We enjoyed eating breakfast and some dinners at Three Rivers Meat Company. We drove into Hochatown and Beavers Bend state park every day and the drive is worth it to have a large property to enjoy. We will definitely be back!

The cabin was infested with red wasps killed 15 inside the cabin. Got stung while I was asleep. Also the WiFi didn’t work. Tried contacting the host several times with no reply. Will not be staying here again. Beautiful spot not so great host

I thought it was amazing. Wish the hot tub had a covering because it was raining while I was there but it was beautiful.

Great cabin for those who want to spend most of their time at the Cabin. The commute to the attractions around Beavers Bend and Hochatown was a bit much. I missed a big fish in the creek behind the cabin. Now I am curious to what is in there
