Come take a step back in time and relax in our 175 year old log cabin. It is an authentic historic structure with added modern conveniences. Whether it's a quiet evening on the porch, a dip in the pool at night under the stars, or coffee with the animals, you are sure to enjoy your stay at our farm as you experience life in a cabin as it might have been in the early 1800's. Our historical cabin can sleep 4 comfortably. There is one queen size and one full size bed (remember folks, thosebig beds didn't exist back then), but ours are comfortable! The sleeping arrangement is one bed in the main area of the cabin and one bed in the loft (which is accessed by a ladder). The cabin features a full kitchen and quaint bathroom with an old claw foot tub and a period bath fixture (hand held - showers didn't exist back then). As a guest at our farm, feel free to roam around. The entire farm is yours.
You may enjoy the pool between 10 AM - 10 PM, mingle with the animals or relax on the porch of your cabin. I live on the property and am available as needed. I have spent hours by the pool with some guests and just greeted others. It is entirely up to the guest how much interaction they want. I am always available on the property.

A heavy continental breakfast (Farm fresh egg and cheese strata, a homemade pastry, farm fresh yogurt, and orange juice) is served either in your cabin, or at poolside (weather permitting) for $12 per guest. We love your fur babies, and they are more than welcome at Coulter Farmstead. We charge an additional fee of $25 per pet per night.
Coulter Farmstead is a luxurious, rustic, and historic farmstead located in Washington, Arkansas that features four log cabins dating to the 1840's and a unique barn loft over an actual working barn that have been painstakingly renovated, as well as an 1860's antebellum Greek Revival home situated on 11 acres with an 1880's historic mercantile. Coulter Farmstead is located on the edge of Washington State Park Old Washington located just a few miles from Hope and Texarkana. Our property is authentic and will make you feel as though you have stepped back in time, but with all the modern conveniences and amenities. Come relax in one of the cabins or barn loft, experience unique shopping in the historic mercantile, or have the perfect intimate wedding anywhere outside on this beautiful property. Whichever you decide, our farmstead is the picture of rustic beauty. It is our hope that you and your guests will feel comfortable and right at home whatever the occasion, as you make memories to cherish for a lifetime. At Coulter Farmstead, drink in the simple, peaceful pleasures of farm life with just the sounds of nature as your backdrop. Experience a gentler way of life in a place where we describe porch sitting, book reading and coffee drinking as an activity. A farm fresh, heavy continental breakfast with a scrumptious cheese strata souffle' with fresh eggs from the family chickens, farm fresh homemade yogurt, a pastry and seasonal juice is available to guests in their cabins.

This is the perfect getaway situation! The whole town is considered a state park, with a lot of touring/historical information handy. TBH, it’s a lot more entertaining that the diamond state park that’s also not far from here. We stayed in the Kirksey cabin and it was awesome. Quintessential decor top to bottom gives you that 1875 vibe but it has all the current things you love. Has WiFi, board games, Keurig etc. the owner literally has thought of everything ( I mean there’s a designated towel for makeup removal-V impressive ). I loved the bed, so comfortable IMO-i like a soft mattress. The owner, Brad, is amazing. So accommodating and friendly. He’s always available and does an excellent job of narrarating the lands history. It’s really a home run for loners/couples getting away or for kids. Animals: cows, chickens, roosters, guinea, pigs, dogs, cat, horses. Old cotton gin on site to check out. The pool is great of course. I did stay out too late past dark and looked like I had been on Naked and Afraid for 21 days when I woke up - bug spray would’ve been a wise choice. Will definitely return!!

We thoroughly enjoyed visit, and throughout our stay my family kept thanking me finding this place. It is truly a hidden GEM!!! It was such a unique place and we wish we could have stayed longer. Justice was so friendly and eager to assist us once we arrived. We requested their farm-fresh breakfast option as well, and it was so delicious, fresh and comforting. We live in a big city, so it was so nice to see/feed the farm animals, and enjoy the peaceful scenery. It was also nice that the pictures online are a true representation of the amenities on the property. We will definitely be coming back.

My family and our good friends stayed 2 nights at the Coulter Farmstead. The farm is so nice and it was fun to explore! They have a really cute mini Highland bull and a small herd of mini cattle. There are also goats, 2 pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. It was really nice to drink coffee on the porch in the mornings and watch the animals. The proprietors are very nice and attentive. It was a very nice quiet place to relax. There is also a creek on their property. I wished we could have stayed one more day just to explore the creek and check out the history of Washington, Arkansas more. If you want a quiet rural stay, and enjoy Civil War history, this is a great place to stay.

We spent the weekend here while visiting the jonquil festival. It was PERFECT! It was exactly like the pictures. The cabin was amazing, as was the whole farm. The owners were above and beyond helpful and kind. The beds comfy, breakfast was delicious, and grounds well manicured! We brought our dog and he was welcomed as well! It was peaceful and quiet. We loved all the farm animals. We will definitely be back and can’t recommend this place enough if this visiting the area.

We really enjoyed our stay in Washington. It was a beautiful place, quiet and even had fireflies which I have not seen since I was a child. Would recommend for any occasion. If we ever head this way again we will definitely stay with the farm.
