Heritage Hideaway is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with loved ones. Located on 25 acres of steep bluffs, our Tiny House is tucked on the edge of the mature hardwood forest. A 100 yard hike in, allows guests to feel truly unplugged. Comfortably rustic, the Tiny House is furnished with solar electricity, clean water and firewood is supplied with each stay.
Our Tiny House is 100% off the grid and utilizes a small solar system. Guests should consider limiting their use of electronic devices and appliances to ensure adequate electricity for lights, fan and fridge during your stay. While there is no running water, ten gallons of fresh water is supplied with each stay. The clean and modern outhouse is close but not too close to the Tiny House. A short hike beyond the cabin is a rock overlook for spectacular sunset views. Please note the parking area is located 100 yards from the cabin, there is no motor vehicle access to the cabin itself. A wagon is available to facilitate transporting your gear for your stay.
A true hideaway, the cabin is tucked back off the main road, yet close to many recreational opportunities. Relax around a campfire or listen to the sounds of nature. Take in the scenic views and gather with family where distractions disappear.
For guests preferring modern amenities, see our main cabin listing: VRBO#867428. Note discount for weekly stays (7 night minimum).
Beautiful little house, we loved the pinewood carsiding. Everything was grand, nice trails to walk and just the most perfect little getaway to read and reflex! We could be more satisfied. Troy even stopped by to ensure that everything was good. Truly a great getaway.
We loved the property, the tiny house was perfect after another visit to Mayo Clinic. We had discovered the quaint little town of Lanesboro last time we were here, and wanted to come back. We would like to stay at the main cabin next time, the views at both are spectacular.
I have stayed at this property 2 previous times and enjoyed each visit. If you truly want to be off the grid but comfortable this is the place. There is a wonderful swing that overlooks the bluffs that I really enjoyed!
It's like camping but in a very nice hardshell tent with a bed. Very nice secluded location with great views. Well planned tiny house with nice features. Provided firewood was good quality. Few bugs in a year of raging mosquitoes.
We had a great time in the area, easy access to communities, and a stay at the Tiny Home. We loved the location, walking availability, scenic spaces, easy access, and perfect space for us.
We were looking for somewhere quiet to stay between biking in Lanesboro and this place did not disappoint. So much more than expected, it was lovely and positively idyllic.
great place to be. it is like camping, only better.
Cozy tiny house tucked away on a beautiful Driftless farm. Instructions for use of the unique features were very helpful. Everything was simple and straightforward. Great for slowing down.
Everything about the tiny home was PERFECT. We thought we might run issues with how excluded it is. However, it gave us the warmth and cozy vibes we wanted. Will be back!
The listing was extremely accurate as were the picture. While it's off-grid the attention to detail was impressive and all the instructions were very accurate. The piece of land is gorgeous...and if you go back a bit there is a bench swing on a rock formation that is just amazing. This was exactly what I was looking for - it was so quiet and calm and everything was minimal. Troy met me on the first night and was very kind and wanted to make sure I had everything sorted out and made it clear to reach out if I had any questions or issues. It was just what I needed and I can't say enough about it if you are looking for something quiet and minimal you can't beat it!
Lovely, peaceful, had everything I needed. Place was even nicer than than the images let on. What a great experience. I will be back.
It's private and the tiny house was perfect. Had a fire every nite. Wish it had been cold enough to use fire place.
We absolutely loved the tiny house. We were greeted by the owner the first night we were there. Loved that they have wood and everything there to use. It is beautiful inside and out. Definitely will stay there again.
Was an amazing stay. Will definitely be coming back.
We had a wonderful tiny house weekend to get away from the hustle and bustle of our day to day. We enjoyed visiting the surrounding area (loved the Fillmore County Museum in Fountain!), eating at Estelle’s in Lanesboro and seeing the rolling countryside. Then coming back to the tiny house for the spectacular sunset, supper and board games. A couple of notes—the solar electricity is truly limited; after a rainy day, we ran out in the night with just the fridge and ceiling fan plugged in. The mini fridge was a significant factor in choosing this property, but I’d probably bring a cooler as a back up now. And the sunset was better viewed standing at the outcrop just before the one with the swing—not as many branches to hinder the view. Overall it was exactly as we had hoped—a quiet nature getaway in a clean, sheltered space.
The serenity of this location is heavenly. The cabin is very clean & owners are very friendly. I hope to stay longer next time.
For a taste of solitude (in Henry David Thoreau's sense), this is a perfect place. All was exactly as advertised. Thank you Troy and Laurie! Howard Bowman
What a fantastic hideaway! So close to Lanesboro and the Root River Trail, yet so wonderfully quiet and private. The tiny house was incredible - well-designed, a comfortable bed and plenty of room. The host stopped by to welcome us and then responded promptly (in person!) when we couldn’t figure out how to light the stove (completely our mistake). The photos of the property don’t show the gorgeous vista just steps from the front door, complete with a swing for two; perfect for listening to all of the birds. We will definitely be back!
One of the best private cabins I have ever stayed at! Secluded, quiet and everything you need for a glamping experience. The swing out on the cliff was perfect for a morning cup of coffee, for reading and for watching the beatiful sunsets. Highly recommend this place :-)
I have stayed at the tiny house many times and always feel refreshed and restored when I leave.
Love this gem of a place. For romance or tender times with kids. Looks as clean and nice as it did when I went there first five years ago...very private and natural.
The tiny house--Heritage Highway--is a beautifully organized, off the grid retreat, at the edge of the woods and bordering a farm. I loved walking in the woods, hearing the roosters at dawn and the lowing of the cows when I got up at midnight (under a star-filled sky) to use the outhouse. The hosts were very responsive to my questions, and made it easy for me to make my week away peaceful, restorative, and productive.
A fun time and great overlook view for watching the sunset
Private and quiet. Beautiful area. Great place to spend some quality time together. Lots of nature and fun things to do around the area.
The simplicity is the charm. I was looking for a place to have a personal retreat with fewer distractions and this was exactly that. I loved wandering the wooded property and just sitting on one of the two swings on rocky outcrops. Great spot.
