Very quaint cabin with reasonable access to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but nicely away from the tourist districts. Driveway is very steep with no parking blocks to prevent a vehicle from rolling into the woods. Very difficult to turn around. We parked on the street.

We arrived at the cabin on Dec 22, 2024 around 5pm, the 1st morning after breakfast we went to wash the dishes and the sink backed up. I notified the property management and they stated they would send someone out. No one came and I notified them again on day 2. Day 3 was Christmas and still no one to fix the sink. This made it very difficult because there was no dishwasher in this cabin. They offered me a VIP pass for a future stay which was not acceptable. I ask for one night to be comped of our stay. and they told me that they would not do that because this was a minor component. We were there for 8 days. I notified them again on day 5; they sent someone out while we were gone. I came back in the cabin to find the doors open to the cabinet under the sink and a bottle of liquid plumber sitting on top of the counter. The sink was still not unclogged. I notified them again and they sent someone out on Day 6; this person eventually made improvements. With a family of 9 and we needed the use of the sink, this made the stay miserable. I will never go back and i repeatedly ask them to compensate me for one night off my stay and they quit responding to those messages. I do have photos and messages to support my claims. Also if you rent this place be prepared to not walk on flat ground the flooring inside the cabin is wavy and it is very hard to keep clean. The best thing about the cabin was the amount of beds and comfort of beds.

We had an amazing time at the playful bears cabin! Everything was so nice, and they had this cabin stocked with just about everything we needed. The beds were fabulous…so comfy! I wish this cabin would’ve had closets. There is not one at all. The only real downfall to this cabin is the driveway. The driveway is super steep, and the parking is another story. It was a major pain to pull down the driveway, and try to park a vehicle. We have a truck, and had to pull forward and backwards so many times, each time we came to and from the cabin. I feel if some trees were cleared out, it would make this situation so much better. Overall, great place to stay!

To start off, one the first morning the bedroom door was broken and locked my wife and myself away from our kids for 4 hours while we waited on maintenance to come. We attempted to get the windows open but there was things blocking the windows that would not allow them to open at first. This is a fire hazard. A child could not figure this out. Next the floors were absolutely filthy we had to go to Walmart and buy a mop. The upstairs bathrooms lights were not working the first night. There was no dishwasher like advertised. The spiral stairs are pretty but they do not feel structural sound. The barn door to my daughter’s room was off its tracks. The driveway is extremely steep and with no lights. I would not recommend this place in the winter even with four wheel drive. The company did give us a one night refund for all our issues but I still want people to know that the listing is not as described.

The property is nicely located out of major traffic but still close enough to major attractions. The cabin came with everything we needed to make meals. It’s beautiful, clean, with highly responsive host.
