Green Castle cabin on the Shenandoah River

This place was amazing - extremely clean, stocked with anything we may have needed, the instructions for everything were clearly outlined and the hosts' communication was stellar. Thank you again Green Castle - we will be back!

The home was beautiful quiet and so peaceful. A great getaway perfect for reconnecting and unplugging from the world. Fishing was fantastic and enjoyable. We will be back!

Such a sweet cabin in the woods. My family and I had an amazing weekend relaxing in the river during the day and spending quality time together around the campfire in the evenings. Our dogs loved the getaway as well.

The cabin was in a beautiful location right on the river and near a pond that we drove to for fishing and kayaking. The river was extremely high due to recent rains, but we did manage to catch some fish and enjoy a tube float. The Wi-Fi was appreciated, because we didn't get any cell service in the area on Verizon. I do wish the hosts provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, because there isn't a place to pick some up nearby, so that seemed like a critical amenity to have on hand. We had to run back to Luray to get some. It was a lovely relaxing family vacation!

It was a nice comfy cabin and met all our needs. Unfortunately the nearby trail was blocked by a fallen tree but everything else was wonderful. It could be easier to get to the river.

As a group of two couples, this was our second visit to Green Castle hosted by Shenandoah Rentals. They did a wonderful job communicating with us for arrival and departure; Laura and her team were especially helpful moving a kayak to the property for our use. We enjoyed the open space on the first floor for cooking and meals. The deck facing the South Fork of the Shenandoah River provided us with beautiful and peaceful views of the river. The hot tub was especially relaxing after kayaking on the river. We plan to be back next year!

We had an amazing time by the river! Getting in the river is challenging so be careful! Otherwise cozy place for a long weekend with wonderful views!

I could not have asked for a better birthday retreat. It was everything I asked for and more. If you are seeking solitude, an opportunity to breathe and feel the stress ebb away, this is the place for you. I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting the owner who is very charming. I will be returning.

This house was the perfect spot for a long getaway with friends! The open floor plan on the first floor is great for hanging out and the views are perfect with the windows surrounding it! I would definitely stay here again.

This cabin is prime real estate for floating the south fork on Luray. There is a public boat launch 8 miles up the road where you launch, and then float one of the best parts of the Shenandoah River back to the cabin. It is very beautiful here!!
