We were extremely dissatisfied with the cabin. - The description states it sleeps 9 guests, it does not, it sleeps 8. Sofa is not a sofa bed. One of our guests had to sleep on the couch. -The cabin was dirty. All the glasses and plates were dirty. When we tried loading the dishwasher to clean the glassware the dishwasher fell out of the cabinetry. -Went to use one of the extra towels and it was stained. I have pictures. -The extra blankets smelled moldy as if they had not been washed in months. -The worst part though was the roaches in the kitchen. We had to buy roach traps and lay them all around the kitchen. Horrible! -The place is very outdated. Lost power in the kitchen on the second day we were there because we plugged in a toaster in an outlet we shouldn't have! The shower on the first floor was either scalding hot or cold. I mean these are not the conditions you keep a rental property in. -The only positive thing I can write about the cabin is the view. The view is pretty. Needless to stay we will NEVER stay here again and hope the management company/owner updates and exterminates the place.
It was our very first Wood Cabin Experience and I want to say that the view from the cabin of the mountians was awesome. Proximity to nearby Banner Elk town for grocery, eateries & local stores was a very convient factor from this cabin. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good safe time in a wood cabin in the mountains without being too secluded.
We were hoping for snow, but knew it is early in the season. We still enjoyed the beauty and had a fantastic time. The lodging was just right for our group. Very accurate descriptions. Highly recommend.
We had 9 people stay 4 nights through NYE. 2 couples stayed upstairs and 5 kids (ages 6-16) downstairs and we brought our 2 dogs. We had plenty of room and it was a nice change hearing the kids say we were being too loud upstairs (lol). The wood burning fireplace was amazing and made the entire trip! It was relaxing, provided the perfect amount of heat (not too much as I don't like to be hot). We had wonderful meals at the large table, played dominos and even spent several hours on a rainy day working on a puzzle. It was the perfect relaxing trip after the holidays. We also went skiing at Beach Mountain one day and drove into Banner Elk and Boone a different day. The location of this house was perfect. We especially liked the great view without it taking a long time to get to it from the main road. We didn't spend much time on the porch since it was cold and raining most of the time. I can see how the traffic may be annoying while trying to sit outside. It was a great cozy cabin and exactly what we were looking for during our winter trip!
The view of the mountain from the porch was amazing. Definitely a great background for family pictures. Cabin was spacious and clean. We stayed with 8 adults and 3 kids. We had plenty of room and never felt crowded.
Place was clean. Everything we needed was on site beautiful and we are happy thanks
We were 15 minutes from skiing and Grandfather Mountain State Park. Views are awesome! We had a great time!
My family (Me, my husband, 2 adult daughters, their husbands, and my infant grand-daughter) enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room for us all. There was not a Pack & Play so we brought ours. The lock batteries were out so we did not have the option of locking the house. Luckily, someone was there most of the time so we were really worried. The dining room table was plenty big enough for the 6 adults and 1 infant but in desperate need of refinishing. Although I knew there would be highway traffic noise, I didn't realize how bad it would be. We all sat outside and would retreat to the house to avoid the noise. If you don't care about sitting outside, this is a great place for you and your family.
Nice property, spacious, and enough room for everyone. Check in was moved to later than we expected, arrived at the time they said it would be ready and still wasn’t. Not enough towels for guests and hot tub even though the info said there would be extra for hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked, made breakfast and dinner a lot for a large group. Close to a grocery store and a couple restaurants, only 20 minute drive to Boone. Overall a nice stay.
The cabin was very clean and well kept. The views were awesome! My family enjoyed our stay and will return in the future!!
Cabin was nice and cozy. Kitchen was well stocked. Location was perfect. The road noise was sometimes loud but would not stop us from staying again. I could not find check out requirements so we did what we do when we stay at other houses.
Great little cabin, great view. Hot Tub is a nice feature, as is the wood fireplace in cool weather. A large dining table easily sits 8 for meals. Warning, the upstairs shower does not have good water pressure, especially if someone is doing dishes or showering downstairs. All-in-all, a great cabin, and a great stay.
