We spent a long weekend in the fall at this house. The accommodations are rustic, comfortable, and interesting. We ate what we caught and found every needed implement in easy reach. Evening and morning on the porch is a rare indulgence in peace and tranquillity. JT was responsive and accommodating. I’m hopeful to return again to Sapelo.
The house was well located in the Hog Hammock community and this made access to locations and food caterer easy. It was large enough for us to handle overflow from our family reunion in comfort. Jonathan is very responsive to questions and provided links to locals persons who provided us with transportation options ( we chose a golf cart versus a car) and catering when when chose not to deal with cooking. The house is built to look rustic but provides comfort and quiet. Could not have asked for more in terms of location and support. Would highly recommend this property. McK
The property was very clean and it met all of our needs! We enjoyed our stay!
This unique cabin has been thoughtfully built and appointed so that it was comfortable and fun for my children and my parents. My husband and I would have made the trip for the record collection alone. The host was very helpful in connecting us with local guides, meals, transportation, and the best places for my family to explore.
A slice of heaven on Sapelo Island with the most amenities! This rare gem has WiFi and a landline which was great for checking in but this island home is so amazing I suggest putting your phone away and enjoying the pristine beaches and riding the trails. This beautiful Sapelo home is filled with family history and Sapelo history. JT knows the island well and was great at sharing his knowledge and making our trip an ease. I can’t wait to go back! Love love love!!
This is our second year at JT'S property on Sapelo. I cannot recommend it enough. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, large back porch with a picnic table for games and meals. JT is the best. Very easy communication. If you're thinking of booking, do it. You won't regret it.
We had fun at the Jonathan Tennant house on Sapelo Island. It was comfortable with lots of interesting books. We especially enjoyed the history books of the area. We saw painted buntings and other birds around the property. Bring a little birdseed for the feeders. There are a lot of birds on Sapelo, the beach is excellent and the people are friendly. The meals prepared by Barbara Bailey and delivered to the house were a real treat.
We had another incredible stay at JT’s place on Sapelo. The memories of quality time with no phones or screens will endure. The owner was communicative and very accommodating as our trip was delayed because of a storm in our hometown. We’re already planning our return.
This was our 3rd visit and it never disappoints. Comments from my kids: “Love the vintage fridge” ‘ “I just want to go again to read the books”, “Can we come back during hunting season”; “Can we just move to Sapelo?” Highly recommended if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay on Sapelo that has great rustic character.
Very nice place. We enjoyed our stay.
