Very happy with our stay at Big Al's! It was the perfect getaway for my husband and me. The weather was beautiful, which made everything even better. The house was cozy and comfortable, and the hot tub was fabulous! We loved the picturesque pond at the end of the trail. It was such a peaceful spot. The 20 minute drive to Crystal Street was totally worth it for great food and treats. Cabin was well equipped.

Absolutely everything was perfect. Our girls 5 and 2 absolutely loved it. We walked the trail several times a day! Great place to disconnect from the world and reconnect with the family.

Big Al’s Creek House is probably the best vrbo property that I have used.Besides being a perfect spot right on a beautiful stream the owner is very sensible as far as keeping things easy and simple. There’s not 5000 complicated rules just treat the cabin like you would your own and you will have a great stay at Big Al’s

My husband and I have been coming to Big Al’s creek house for more than 13 years, and each visit has been a special treat for us. We always have a wonderful time there. Andrew is always so attentive and helpful with anything we need. The sounds of the creek, the short hikes to the lake, and the breathtaking view of the forest are just what we love. We’re planning to keep coming to Big Al’s for years to come, and we’re already thinking about bringing our son along on our next trip.

Already planning to come back! I cannot say enough good things about this magical place. It is a beautiful property and very well maintained. Inside the creek house, we had everything we needed to keep us cozy and comfortable. We especially loved the fireplace, the hot tub, and the views of the creek. The owner, Andrew, responded to us within minutes when we were concerned about being snowed in. And Trey responded within minutes to help shovel/plow for us. Can’t wait to come back!

The cabin was super cozy and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We absolutely loved the atmosphere in and outside of the cabin. It was the perfect getaway for our 3rd Anniversay. We were lucky to get some snowfall so the scenery was beyond beautiful. We would absolutely love to visit this cabin again in the spring/summer to experience it during the warmer weather as well.

Excellent cabin in a beautiful setting. Had everything in the listing and is really cared for by the owner. Particularly enjoyed the comfortable cozy sleeping alcove. Views of the creek are awesome from inside. The hikes on property are also a treat.

This cabin was something of dreams. From the indoor fireplace to the wood hot tub in the back I couldn’t have found a better winter get away. We plan on going back for a summer retreat since there is a creek right outside with a trail across the bridge that leads to your very own pond with canoe. We loved Big Al’s! Five stars!

The cabin is perfect, the property was awesome. Everything was setup and ready to go when we arrived, stocked with all the normal needs. The mossy trail was a relaxing stroll. The hot tub was a great amenity in the cooler evening air. Close proximity to many activities, with plenty to do onsite if you wanted to. Perfect get away for me and my wife’s 10 yr anniversary. Looking forward to returning with the kids in the future. Thank you for a fantastic property to call “Home” for a few days. Our only problem is that it isn’t for sale!! Great time!!

This creekside cabin is magical. Every amenity you'd imagine- from the private pond, the fire pit, to the cedar hot tub are perfect. Well appointed and wonderfully decorated- this is the perfect place for a couples getaway. Can't wait to go back!

Me my wife and my grandson really loved the house. I love the older decor. The location was awesome. The path to the pond was great. We will definitely stay there again in the near future.

This property is in the most perfect location! It sits right along the creek. I really enjoyed sitting outside during the rainstorms, it was so peaceful! The kids loved the pond and caught a bunch of fish. It was so nice to be able to just relax and get away from it all.

We had a relaxing stay to celebrate our 24th anniversary. We did lose power twice for several hours, but that was out of the control of the home owner. Andrew was very helpful when contacted and extremely apologetic about the power outage. If we weren’t in a heat wave, it would not have mattered at all! Regardless, we enjoyed sitting by the creek and took some walks back to the pond to fish. We visited the local winery for lunch which was amazing. We definitely will return for a stay!

We could not have asked for a better stay. This property surpassed our expectations and was heaven on earth. I think what I will remember is the song of the creek and quiet noise of those beautiful trees. We will be booking for our next year’s stay.

Excellent. Great place for kids to explore

From the moment you open the door. The background music is playing, the towels are folded with care, every detail is thought of. If you are looking for a place to disconnect and relax, the Creek house is the perfect place to be.

It is the perfect rental for disconnecting and unwinding. One of my favorite places to visit, very special and perfectly accommodated.

Our quick weekend away was more than just a trip - we were creating memories with our senior dog whom we’ve had since a pup. It was always a desire to take him away on vacation with us, but as days/months/years flew by, that never happened. So when he turned 13 we created a bucket list to celebrate the joy he has brought to us all these years. Searching for a home away from home needed to meet our standards- scenic property, woodland atmosphere, quiet surroundings, cozy indoor space and a hot tub (for the humans). This home HAD IT ALL!!!! We pulled up to outdoor patio lighting lining our path, walked in to 30’s jazz music playing thru the retro speaker, battery powered candles flickering cozy lighting and the most colorful art and decor! We felt like we were back to a simpler time and felt compelled to push our technology aside to fully enjoy the space. This home is in a perfect location- 35 minutes away from Bushkill Falls and 3 minutes away from Mountainview Vineyard (highly reccomend both). But if you want to just stay out, Big Al’s Cabin will make you feel right at home. We can not wait to visit again and are so grateful for the memories created with our senior pup!

The scenery and overall location was absolutely amazing! It was so peaceful and quiet the entire weekend there with good weather the whole time! The interior of the cabin was absolutely perfect with everything and was super clean!

We had an amazing time. Everything about this cabin is perfect. From the retro appliances, to the cedar hot tub, to the beautiful creek and trail. The decor made it feel so special. We loved it so much and hope to visit again some day.

The smallest of touches were incredible.

Overall, the property was great. The only negative was the cabin was difficult too get warm. The front room didn't have any heat, and the front door was very poorly sealed. All and all a very great experience, and stay.

Enjoyed relaxing

My husband and I were hoping for a relaxing couple of days away after crazy holidays with our 3 small kids, and this place did not disappoint. The hot tub worked great and was very relaxing, we also loved the cozy fireplace. The place was extremely clean and very welcoming. We had a great time, and even faced the cold to take a walk in the woods, and WOW, beautiful and peaceful doesn't even hit the mark, as much as we wanted to take a break from the kids, we couldn't help but realize they would have a blast there as well. We'll most likely be trying to bring the kids with us in the summer for a longer stay, it looks like there is a lot to do around the area as well.

The CreekHouse was the perfect relaxing retreat between Christmas and New Year’s. The moss-covered trail felt magical, and the sound of the creek while soaking in the hot tub was an unforgettable winter experience. The house was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a peaceful getaway and to bring in the new year. We can’t wait to return!

Always a wonderful stay! We felt like we were living in a classic christmas card. From the perfect covering of snow across the landscape to the vintage christmas lights hanging on the house. It was such a beautiful christmas vacation!! We even had a family of deer visit every evening. I can not recommend this house enough!!

So peaceful and quiet- we loved being at Big Al’s Creekside Cabin. The cabin is so cozy and welcoming. The short hike to the beautiful pond was an added bonus we didn’t know about ahead of time. And the beautiful bit of snow that fell was perfect! Would love to return sometime!

We spent the weekend at the creek house and it was a great experience. The nature around is very beautiful and it is a perfect place to relax and take it easy for a few days. The owner was easy to get a hold of and very helpful with any questions.

Second time with my fiancé at Big Al’s. Different then the first time, we were snowed in but it was perfect! Most amazing place ever! Andrew and Georgia are great as well. Bridget and I look forward to coming back for years to come

One word “ Amazing”

I was so looking forward to our stay at Big Al's; however, for the price I was expecting more. First, my husband and I couldn't wait to get in the hot tub (as a nurse, I very much needed a getaway), when we opened the cover a strong smell of mildew hit us. I thought it was the cover and so we got in. We smelled like mildew after we got out and the towels and clothing that was exposed to the water reeked of mildew. The fireplace also had a super strong smell so much so we had to wash everything that was in our cabin with us. I washed the stuff that smelled like mildew from the hot tub but it won't come out despite using bleach. Not exactly what I wanted to do when I came home. We did not call the manager since we were only there 3 days and didn't want the interruption. I tried emailing the owner, he has not responded. For the money, I would expect everything to be maintained properly. Also this property is not for older people with mobility issues since the rocks are all around the house making the ground very uneven. There was also a rodent that would visit us every evening (I understand this is somewhat unavoidable, but one night our dog must have cornered the creature because we heard a pretty loud squeal in the kitchen, making us wonder exactly how big the mouse was.) I've been wanting to come to Big Al's for a long time and I'm bummed that it was a disappointment. We stay in many rustic cabins as we go to Maine every year.but never have experienced these issues.

This was our second visit to the Creek House, and the moment I walked in it felt like home! So cozy, clean and comfortable. Spending time on the property walking the mossy trail to the pond, around the fire pit, just watching the creek is all we needed. A nightly dip in the hot tub was so relaxing and the perfect way to end the day. Yet it's the best of both worlds being close to stores, restaurants and activities too. The facility has been nicely maintained, even better with more improvements since the last time we were there. We cannot wait to go back!

I had this property saved for years and finally decided to make the 4 hour drive and we are so glad we did. It was perfect. This is not a luxury cabin and thats ok. It has everything you need to enjoy your stay. It feels like you are stepping back in time and it immediately makes you relax. The quirky and authentic decorating details are great. The location on the creek is very relaxing. We saw trout in the creek and a couple of deer wandered by. I can imagine we will be back.

We loved the cabin inside and out! Loved the views from each and every window and listening to the sounds of the creek behind the cabin! The hot tub was wonderful after hiking to relax. Property was breathtaking! The creek and pond were enjoyed by all. An absolute joy of a weekend. A great spot for meditation, fishing and exploration of the woods plus all the plentiful amenities the Creekhouse offers. There was something for everybody!

Absolutely loved staying at this cabin for a long weekend with my wife and our small dogs. The creek is so wonderful to have right outside the door and to listen to while relaxing in the back room. The look and feel of the cabin is great, providing a nice atmosphere overall. The path across the creek leading to the pond is beautiful to walk through with the moss covering the ground. It's especially fun at night. I'm not very good at reviews, but I highly recommend this cabin if you're looking for a nice, private getaway. The road is right out front, but it's not incredibly busy. Also, the microwave is like a super microwave, so be mindful of how long you put things on for haha. Communication was excellent as well! Thank you!

Recently, my wife & I stayed at this property, which provided a well-deserved break from the chaos of everyday busy life. We were warmly greeted by the property owner, who showed genuine kindness and maintained open communication throughout our entire stay. The property's tranquil environment and peaceful surroundings enabled us to have breakfast by the creek each morning. This is the perfect destination for anyone seeking a place to recharge, relax, and reconnect. My wife loved the beautiful mossy trail, (it reminded her of something from a fairy tale), leads to a large pond, where my wife went fishing for the first time & I was thrilled to see her catch her 1st fish. The property is pet-friendly, and our Yorkie enjoyed time outside by the creek on the swing with her Mommy or by the fire. We also enjoyed observing the abundant wildlife, including five deer one evening across the creek. The cabin was very clean, had everything we needed during our stay from kitchen utensils, to blankets & towels. Thank you for sharing your wonderful place , we enjoyed every moment and will definitely be returning.

I highly recommend treating yourself or your family to the cabin. My son who is 19 and my dog thoroughly loved being outside in nature every day. Our favorite spot was the bridge over the creek. It was magical and an escape from reality. I spent my time reading or just watching nature each da. Any time of year would be the perfect time to go.

We could not have asked for a better property! It is secluded and gorgeous!! We took many walks down to the pond on the moss covered pathway! The stream is relaxing to sit by and listen to! We also saw deer and herons! In addition, the host was so helpful and responsive to answer any and all questions! Thanks for sharing your home with us!
