Stayed Mar 27, 2026We had a wedding to attend in the area and this Cabin was the perfect spot to stay!! So cozy, very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the fire pit and the quiet atmosphere. It was fully equipped with everything we needed, from a fully stocked kitchen (pots and pans, coffee maker, dishes) to corn hole and uno cards. Beautiful property and experience! Highly recommend. The final half mile up was a little narrow and steep at times. Great overall experience.

Stayed Jan 15, 2026We were in a small suv and when trying to get in the driveway my car would not go. I kept having two tires come completely off the ground and my other tire spinning. We tried multiple times and from different directions and were not able to get in the driveway. I contacted vacasa requesting a move and they could/ would not accommodate so I asked for a refund since we could not stay there. I have yet to get a refund. We did not and could not stay in the cabin and had to pay to stay somewhere else. I wound greatly appreciate a refund.

Stayed Sep 28, 2025The cabin is beautiful! Very well equipped with anything you need. We had one problem , could not unlock the door on the second day , code was changed and it only worked once then wouldn’t work. Just wanted to make you aware of it.

Stayed Jul 11, 2025My wife and I spent three nights in the middle of July here and it was a great getaway for us. We loved how quiet the area was, especially compared to a hotel, and felt right at home here in no time. It is far enough from Blue Ridge to get out of the main tourist area, but close enough to get wherever we wanted in about 15 minutes. As others have mentioned, the road to the cabin is a private road that is about 1 1/2 lanes wide. So, two cars passing each other requires a little courtesy and squeezing over. Otherwise, the road is paved and completely functional. The transition from the road to the driveway of the cabin is quite steep and I would think a truck or SUV is likely the best option to avoid scraping the ground during the transition. Otherwise, the driveway is easy to drive up due to some ingenious system to retain the gravel, which makes driving up easy.

Stayed Jun 25, 2025We had a wonderful stay at Fishful Thinking. The cabin was very thoughtfully appointed and everything (even the outdoors) was so clean. The road up to the cabin is definitely steep and curvy, but we managed fine even in my mom's mini van. Just be prepared. We arrived at night and the first trip up was definitely an adventure!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The weekend at Fishful Thinking was a girls trip with lifetime friends. It was the perfect spot. We each needed time away from families and careers and the trip was very relaxing. Exceeded our expectations. Comfortable beds, sheets, pillows. Snacks provided. Wood for fire pit which was amazing. Everything new and clean. The location was perfect just a short drive to Blue Ridge and also to Elijah. Owners are attentive and responsive looking for ways to enhance our stay. Try it. You won’t regret it!
