This property was perfect for a quite gateway. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who wants to be off the grid for a while and become one with nature again. Brian S. ,property owner, was amazing and very accommodating and also recommended many places in the area to eat at and visit. Hoping to get back maybe once a year and enjoy this peaceful cabin.

The host was great, took care of our couple needs asap!! The cabin is either a work in progress or is getting worn out and needs some TLC. Absolutely no water pressure to speak of. You will grow old trying to do dishes or take a shower. Other than that, beautiful spot all to yourself and in the middle of many vineyards. Will keep in the roster of places for in the future.

This property was a nice getaway for a weekend. The cabin was clean. Couple things to know if you’re looking for water pressure in the shower you won’t find it. The front shower hot water is hit and miss. We only had 1 washcloth and 2 towels for 3 days. The WiFi was a hit and miss. Great location to the parks, food and wineries. Had a great weekend! Host answers any questions you have pretty quickly.

I rely heavily on pictures and reviews to decide where I'm going to take my wife when we go out for a weekend. When I looked at the pictures and the reviews of this listing I was excited - when we got there we were not. It is a good location, you are three minutes from Alto Pass, and only 15 to 20 minutes away from the wineries. Mentioned in many reviews was the great hot tub and honestly it's the reason we decided to go with this property - when we arrived however, we found the hot tub was in disrepair, had water in the bottom growing algae, the cover was torn up as well, obviously non functioning. The pictures on the listing are from what I assume was the original look. Since then the screens on the porch have been torn allowing bugs into the screened area and the covered porch has a 5 hole in the roof from most likely a branch that went through it - it has not been patched and is causing wood rot on the inside and peripheral damage to the roof itself. The inside was clean, our only complaint was the showers. The shower off the living room did not produce hot water, it went slight warm to cold, then slightly warm again, that was over about 15 minutes. The shower off the bedroom had hot water, but neither shower had much pressure. Both shower heads are in the corner of the shower stall itself and difficult to get under to rinse off. There was a wand, but with out sufficient water pressure it was fairly useless. The property needs some TLC.

We had a great stay at the cabin! We didn't get their until late on a Fri, but Brian let us stay as late we we wanted to checkout on Sunday which was great. The hot tub water had just been changed, so the was only 56 degrees when we got there. However, he gave us a reimbursement for the inconvenience and were able to get in late the following day. The water pressure was only a trickle, and 1 shower never got warm. Otherwise the cabin had mostly everything we needed. Would be good to have a little help me book though with wifi information and other stuff about the cabin.

This cabin is located so close to all the wineries in the wine trail. We had easy access to Alto Pass, Star view, Owl Creek, and so many more! The hot tub was a great way to unwind at the end of the day. And the owner was very great about communicating and following up. Would 500% recommend this place to anyone looking to take in the Shawnee state parks or South Illinois wine trail.

This is a really cool property that is very comfortable/cozy and and away from the hustle and bustle. It really does feel like you are in a tree house and connected with nature. The deck and screened in porch are great. It was really nice for that morning cup of coffee. I refinements would take the property over the top. The water pressure/flow is very poor. It was even hard to wash a dish. The fridge was not cold. I had to use the freezer as the fridge If you don’t min being disconnected ,this is great as cell service-WiFi is as advertised…very slow. Connection for stream is not possible.

Good get away to visit the wine trail. Close to many wineries but far enough away to feel away from others. The cabin was basic, but nice. It was what we were looking for because we didn’t want to stay long. Water pressure was good (many reviews complained about water pressure, but it was fixed before our visit). There were actually two bathrooms with two standup showers.

The property was very clean and located in a wuiet surrounding. Beautiful back drop behind the cabin. Sleeping arrangements were comfortable. It was centrally located to a lake, trails, bourbon bar and wineries. The property manager was friendly and made great suggestions for the activities we were wanting to do.
