Our Happy Place
Our cottage is located on Elm Avenue in the Restricted Area. In the Restricted Area, your car has to be left at the parking lot at the entrance to the area. Parking is about $16 per week, and passes can be purchased at the parking office. You can take a Beach taxi to the cottage with all of your stuff -- about $10. Within the Restricted Area, bikes and feet are the main forms of transportation, making for a peaceful, safe, old-time feel.
The cottage is a two minute bikeride from Einfeld's Bakery, the General Store, the park, the tennis courts, the Victoria Beach Golf Course, and a three minute bike ride to the VB clubhouse and beach and most of the other beaches. The cottage comes with two kayaks for your enjoyment along with life jackets; always use a life jacket and stay close to shore. There is also a ping pong set up in the double garage.
The cottage has three bedrooms: one with a queen bed, one with two full bunk beds and one with a single loft style bunk. There is also a couch in the living room that folds down. Each bed will be made with clean sheets and bedding when you arrive, and there is a spare set of sheets and extra blankets for each bed in the dressers.
It also has a wood-burning fireplace, a full kitchen stocked with everything that you'd normally find in a basic kitchen (see list of items below), a barbeque with propane, running municipal water (potable), a 46 inch flat screen tv with a DVD player (no other TV service but DVDs can be rented from the general store in June), a sun room with a table and sofa and a chair. There are also lots of books for all tastes - kids, adolescence and adults - plus lots of board games (teens and adults) and toys. Wood is available at the store if our supplies have been depleted
The bathroom has a toilet, sink, shower, and hot water tank, towels and face cloths, and a basic first aid kit. There is also a supply of beach towels, beach toys, emergency sunscreen and bug spray, candles and emergency flashlights.
All you really need to bring are your clothes, your food, and your own bikes, if you want them. We have many old bikes both for adults and kids as well as a chariot, as well as a child bike extension for kids.
There is no land line, but there is cell service, and there are land lines available nearby in an emergency. The store has wifi, but the cottage doesn't.
We have excellent neighbours!
Check out at 11 a.m.; check in at 3 p.m. No smoking,. A $400 damage deposit is required for all new renters. We have a preference for families or mature couples. The cleaning fee is included in the rental fee.

For 15 years we've spent weekends at our Grand Beach cabin, and decided to do a weekend rental at Victoria Beach. We have a 4 year, 3 year and 7 month; old the last long weekend of summer we decided to rent at VB to get our kids together with friends/kids who have cabins there. I can't believe I've been 20 minutes away from such a gorgeous spot all along. The cabins are more spacious, the lush greenery and quiet streets safe for biking (no anxiety about cars!) This rental was a reprise from everything I've come to know about cabin time.. safe roads (unlike GB busy streets very close to the cabins), some privacy (yard space), quieter beaches (I could actually see my children from the tent with the baby, without losing sight among crowds of bodies). This experience allowed me to actually exhale and unwind. Thank you Nick, and family, for sharing this lovely retreat with us to use. I could tell how special it was to your family with little sentiments left out for us to get to know. As for the cabin itself, it's perfect. Not pretentious (it doesn't feel like a city house..we want cabin vibes!) but modernized just enough with beautiful updates in just the right ways. Warm, clean, and spacious. A lush large screened room on the deck made for a perfect space for my older boys to be a little loud with their trucks at bedtime, away from putting the baby down inside. Plenty of space in each bedroom for travel cribs and toys. What more can I say? It's perfect, and we hope to return :)
