Unfiltered fun for everyone!
This property is amazing all year round for a visit to the lakes.
The Manitowish Waters Chain O Lakes is an enjoyable trek for quiet water canoeists and kayakers. From its origin at
High Lake, the river flows for nearly 44 miles before joining with the Bear River to form the North Fork of the Flambeau River. The 20-mile section featured in this guide is nestled in the northwest corner of the 232,000-acre Northern Highlands-American Legion State Forest. Paddlers will find mostly flatwater with occasional riffles as you glide by open marsh and lush, northern lowland forest. A large number of sloughs provide excellent opportunities for exploration
and bird watching. One of the state's more popular canoe camping rivers is the river, with seven overnight camp areas spread out between Circle Lily Creek and the Bear River confluence.
The frequent wide-open spaces of the marshlands immediately surrounding the river make bird watching easy. Warblers, sparrows, finches, thrush, woodpeckers, wood ducks, and hooded mergansers, are just a few of the species that inhabit the riverway in summer. Eagles are also common; you’ll occasionally see one of their massive nests in a tall pine near the river. Beaver and otter are often spotted, and you’ll sometimes see: fisher, white-tailed deer, raccoon, red squirrel, and the occasional black bear. Our “Mani Bay Chalet” includes a sloped pursuit to the water where kids can play.
Manitowish Waters has a ten lake chain with several restaurants on the waters, free water
skiing shows, and concerts on the water.
Loads to do for all tastes, from outdoor adventures for local explorers to total isolation for those
who prefer the homely and the comfy!

Really enjoyed our stay, very comfortable, beautiful view, great location. We ate most meals in the outside gazebo which was a real treat!
This place has it all-- Top notch accommodations, peaceful setting, great views, varied amenities, responsive host and much more. My husband & I needed a relaxing vacation & that is exactly what we got! Manitowish Waters has been our Happy Place for over 40 years and the restaurants, bike trails, navigable chain of lakes, natural beauty, etc. are unparalleled anywhere. Yes, I'm biased, but it's true. We will be back.
This home and location are fantastic. Loved everything about it! Well appointed, clean and so cozy. Wish I were back there now! Our boys loved building fires outside, kayaking in the bay and the pontoon was a major bonus! Jake was super responsive too!
Great cabin and property on the chain of lakes. Jake is an outstanding host that is very responsive to any questions, and has thought of many of the little details that make the difference for an enjoyable vacation.
We were excited to be able to stay on the Manitowish chain, and were just hopeful that the Mani Bay rental would be descent. We were excited to find the home to be very well cleaned, excellent bedding, with a layout that was great for families...kids could hang out downstairs while the adults had cocktails on the deck. The decor is tasteful and well appointed. The screened in eating room on the deck made for great dinners while watching the eagle fly on the bay with loons calling. On the days that were cooler, we got a nice breeze through the cabin, and the air conditioning was a nice perk on the couple humid nights we had. The pontoon boat was the kicker, as it allowed for us to experience all that the Manitowish has to offer from picking up a drink at Greers Peir to swimming at Fox Island and at Star Lake. Fishing was excellent this week too! Jake is very responsive if you have any questions. I would highly recommend this place...it's a gem.
We have stayed at this property twice because it is so wonderful! It is in an excellent location. The cabin is stocked with everything you could need. Jake is so responsive and helpful!
This cabin was perfect for our group plenty of room and all the amenities. Look forward to staying here again
This is our 2nd Christmas here & we just love it. The place is so warm & inviting & beautifully decorated for Christmas.. It has a fabulous fireplace to keep the cold away
Close to bike trail, hiking trails, & town of Manitowish Waters. This was our 2nd stay & we’ll be back.
Another fantastic stay at Mani Bay is in the books….can’t wait until next year! You can’t beat the location, LOVE Mani Bay and Jake is the most responsive host we’ve ever encountered. Top notch little slice of Northwoods heaven!!
Very clean and well kept place with plenty of things to do for teens - paddle boards, kayaks, canoe, peddle boat and a pontoon boat for us to cruise the chain. We had a great time and Jake was a very good host.
Wonderful home, excellent communication with Manager, pontoon boat on chain of lakes, makes this a must-do experience! Highly recommended.
