Stayed Oct 8, 2025The cabin was just as described. The dirt road there is a little rough, but oh my goodness, what a beautiful drive!! The cabin is pleasantly remote and surrounded by gorgeous aspen trees and majestic mountains. I loved being there to see the fall colors. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed, and I loved the coziness. It was such a bonus to be able to take our dogs. They had a great time too! If you want a peaceful and beautiful getaway, this is your place!

Stayed Oct 3, 2025Only complaints are no trash bags. This made it kinda hard to get all our trash out as requested. We made do tho7gh. And kitchen sink drain leaking so we could not pour anything in the sink or it came out underneath. Made it hard to wSh dishes etc. Other than those minor things, was a great place

Stayed Sep 17, 2025This beautifully appointed and well equipped cabin provides the best of off-grid living. The roads in may be a bit rough and you will want to be mindful of your use of electricity, but the return on investment is peace and solitude in stunningly lovely surroundings.

Stayed Sep 26, 2024Lost Elk Lodge was everything we were hoping for and more. It’s an off grid place and uses solar power but we never saw it go below 86%. The house was clean and well stocked and had everything we needed. The covered porch out front was so nice to hang out at, we spent a lot of time there. Plenty of hiking options nearby and we saw elk, mule deer, two moose and various other animals while there. The place is remote and it’s over an hour to get to the nearest gas station and grocery store, but that was exactly what we were looking for. Dara was a wonderfu host, quick to respond, very nice and accommodating. We are already ready to go back!

Stayed Aug 18, 2024The cabin is located in a wonderful location. There are other cabins close by but you still feel secluded and it is quiet. So much off road riding and hiking close by. The porch was amazing place to sit and relax. We enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Jun 28, 2024We love staying in this cabin. It's very peaceful. Everything we needed was there. And if we needed anything the caretaker was just down the road. Easy access to ATV trails, fishing, mountain biking and hiking. We like to say the best kept secret in Colorado. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us.
