Enjoy the Lower Catskills

An incredible place to enjoy lower Catskills. The cabin is very cozy, spacious, newly renovated, impeccably clean with nice brand new furniture and smart home features. We travel a lot with a family and this time we were pleasantly surprised how much love and effort were put in this place. The location is also good, 10-15 minutes away from tubing and skiing, waterpark and casino, but at the same time, it is well secluded in the nature away from the main road and traffic. They also have very nice restaurants with locally grown produce and brewery in the close proximity. Matt is a great host, he made sure our stay was comfortable and always checked if need anything. Overall, highly recommend this place especially for families with young kids who want to feel like home away from home.

Bear Lodge was an amazing and very cozy place to stay. We spent New Year’s there, and it was snowy and absolutely wonderful. Thank you, Matt, for checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. You’re a great host!

This property was excellent. The inside has obviously been completely remodeled and is beautiful. Really enjoyed the fireplace, and the individual thermostats in every room (including the bathrooms!) Made it easy for everyone to be comfortable. The furniture was comfortable and the big tv was nice!You must be very careful driving in the area, especially at night... we saw many, many deer over the 3 days there. The Bear decor was cute... we kept discovering more items! We would go back here without hesitation - hopefully for a longer visit. A couple of friendly suggestions for the hosts... we were a group of 4 women in our 60's and early 70s. A railing or post to hold on to would have been helpful for the steps to the porch. And in the kids room, a reading light, controllable from the twin beds would have been handy. The overhead light wasn't really good for reading, and you had to get out of bed to shut it off.

We had a great stay. The cabin was excellent, exactly as advertised with a perfect amount of space for a quick getaway. Clean and comfortable, it was a great base to explore the area over a long holiday weekend. Matt was available and happy to answer any questions. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our family does a yearly family vacation and when we are somewhere we take day trips to surrounding areas. We were able to let my step daughter see her grandparents on her mom’s side who she hadn’t seen in years. We also took a train into the city. It was nice to be able to come back to the quiet of this little place to relax and get ready for the next day. If we return to New York we definitely will look at staying here again.

Our stay was great! It was located in a small quiet neighborhood that was close to many small towns. The accessible bathrooms/walkin showers were perfect for my elderly mother. Matt was kind enough to check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

We have stayed in the area on multiple occasions and found Matt’s cottage spotless, furnished beautifully and very welcoming. I hope to stay there again on future visits.

What a great property. This location is perfect, and the host (Matt) responds quickly to any questions. As the title states, the house is spotless, and on a quiet street (dead end, with no thru traffic). Everything is exactly as pictured in the listing.
