This location is the just far enough out of town to give the location a wonderful coastal wilderness experience with all the comforts from home.
Needs TLC. Broken lock on door off the kitchen you have to use a board in the track of the sliding door. Hallway bathroom keeps running you have to jiggle the handle. 1/2 the house has no air conditioning. And had a big problem with ants in the master bedroom. Hot tub don't work. The house is big and nicely furnished and a nice back yard but it's a heck of a walk to the ocean.
Very nice area - close to everything, yet far enough away from heavily traveled areas.
The house it self was very nice and big but the stove smelled like it was leaking gas every time we turned it on. Towels in the bathroom were stained. We didn’t use them but I think it’s something to work on. Overall it was a decent stay. We did enjoy very much the back porch.
I felt like I never left home. It was absolutely amazing! The place was fully stocked, the beds comfortable, the location amazing! We were there working and had perfect WiFi the whole time. This place is perfect and the price was just right.
The house was awful. I wouldn't even rate it a 1 because it was so bad. There was no cell phone reception in the house. We had to use internet calling. There was no tv reception - only limited streaming. The carpets were stained everywhere. Ants were invading bathtubs and sinks everywhere. Major things didn't work. The stove/oven was malfunctioning. The door of the oven had a large gap in the door, so oven never came to temperature. Ruined a $110 prime rib roast. We had to get an extended Bic lighter to light burners and when lit they couldn't be regulated. The heater for the living areas (living room, dining room, kitchen and family room) was a joke. It was a hotel -type room heater that could not possibly heat the large living areas. It was cold all the time. In addition, we had a power outage that lasted nearly two days. We could see our breath in the house. With a 2 month old baby, we were very concerned that she would get sick. The power was out so that meant the lights, water, toilets, and cell phone did not work. With 4 adults and 1 baby this was unbearable. Vacassa, the property manager was worthless. They did not have any emergency provisions in the house and no back up power or back up water pump for the house. Owner's adult children dropped by but didn't provide much in the way of provisions. They had to be asked to get water. We called to be put up elsewhere and were told that can't be done. I asked for refund on the 2 days with power outage and they said it was not possible. I am angry about this stay. I would like to be compensated by a refund of at least half of our stay. We have never had a problem with VRBO before but this was hideous. I expect a refund.
This property is NOT on the beach. This property is NOT well kept. It was stained and dirty so much that I was compelled to take photos and report it out of fear of being held responsible. One of the redwood trees dropped a limb on our car as we were checking out, and Vacasa said it was our responsibility.
It was a fabulous stay. The house was very clean and if you are a large family or group the house is well distributed, we had plenty of room.
Quiet and peaceful. Only a few blocks to the beach, Protected from the wind. Spacious kitchen. Large table for family dinners.
This is a great house with lots of space. Not fully fenced, but lots of yard space for dogs and kids. The ocean is a LONG walk through deep sand and dunes, but lots of nice, accessible beaches a short drive away. It was quiet and beautiful there. The house was clean but not too pristine for dogs and people coming in and out. :)
The house was very clean when we arrived with the four bedrooms it gave us plenty of room for our family nice large backyard we were able to play frisbee and soccer you have sand dunes right in the backyard/side yard but it’s about an eighth of a mile walk down the road to the dunes to get to the water is another story so we just drove to a local beach five minutes away we absolutely enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning
Plenty of room inside and outside. Large kitchen with most items you would need to cook. Close to many nice beaches. A little run down, but we didn't mind.
We rented 4 houses in the Mendocino Dunes complex for a multi-generational family reunion. The grounds are gorgeous & provided lots of safe space for the young ones to play. The young adults enjoyed sitting around the fire pit. There were lots of great spots for reading and playing cards. There were many fun excursions- Skunk Train, shopping in Mendocino, exoring the Tide pools at McKerricher State Park, and playing in the sand at nearby beaches.
I would have left a good review but it was not what I thought. This house is on a Well so if the power goes out due to wind you have no water, which happened to be the case when we arrived. The good: the grounds have plenty of room in the back for outdoor activities. The house is spacious inside. It has a usable firepit in the back. They mow the lawn. It has a BBQ. Close to Fort Bragg. The bad: no beach access from the property. upon entry of the house you could smell a mildew musty smell throughout the house we had to open it up to air it out. The house is heavily dated. The grounds are overgrown around the house and not maintained well. There is another house 25 feet from the front door behind the garage. After fees and taxes it's NOT a place I would choose again as there other places that seem to offer better accommodations at the same rate.
We enjoyed our stay at this home near the sand dunes. Big house worked well for our family. Dog friendly property. Ran into a couple items that kept this from being 5 stars, previous guests and yard maintenance team neglected to pick up dog droppings, unfortunately my mom stepped in a pile as soon as we arrived. The heater in the living room/kitchen area is not functioning and had error code coming up on it. This made heating the kitchen and living room difficult. Also found the shower in the laundry room no working, leaking very badly, the washer hose were also had very corroded and leaking behind the washer machine. Hopefully management will preform some maintenance. We plan to come back in the future.
