This Georgia retreat has it all! Listen to Wildcat Creek babbling right nearby, relax on the screened porch with a glass of lemonade, or explore some of this property's two-and-a-half wooded acres. Appealing to families and lovers of the great outdoors (Chattahoochee National Forest borders the property), this Clarkesville cabin is sure to please.

Up to eight guests will love staying here, far from the hustle and bustle but surrounded by plenty of things to do. Back home, bring your catch of the day to the grill on the lower deck, or put the well-stocked full kitchen and its gas stove to work. The wood-burning fireplace will keep you toasty during your stay, and free WiFi, cable TV, and a DVD player will keep the whole group entertained. And for a fun change of pace, head to the lower-level game room for air hockey or darts.

What's nearby:
If you're up for some fishing, you don't need to step more than a few paces from your door for trout in the creek, (but please note that a fishing license and separate trout license required). If you travel a bit further down West Wildcat Road, you'll see many waterfalls along the way, and just a half-mile from the cabin is Sliding Rock, a favorite local spot in the summer. You'll also be just a mile-and-a-half from beautiful Lake Burton with its freshwater fishing and boat rentals and docks.

This cabin was all by itself tucked in front of a rushing stream. Everything was clean and well appointed. We ŵill probably go back.

Upon arriving around 4:20 PM, the cleaning service wasn’t even halfway finished cleaning the property. Luckily, we needed to go grocery shopping so we did accomplish that, but unfortunately the grocery store was 30 min away so we wasted time backtracking for that. We got a text at 6:19 PM that our property was ready for checkin. When I called Vacasa and got passed around a few times, I finally got someone local and explained my frustrations. When I inquired about how we would be compensated for our lost time we paid for, she told us “we don’t do that”. I explained to her that it’s not my fault the previous renters checked out late and that they should take a late checkout fee from them and apply it to our account. “We don’t do that”. She promised to escalate it to a supervisor and then I began getting text messages from “someone” at the company. When we arrived at the cabin, I discovered a strange smell in the cabin and the basement had a mildew smell. We never had a sponge to wash dishes with. I even asked them for that. No resolution. Lots of texting back and forth with no resolve. The dishwasher doesn’t work properly. It fell out of the cabinet and even when we ran it, I had to rewash the dishes because it’s so old and left food on the dishes. Two great things I can say is that the fireplace works great, the hot water is excellent and the beds sleep well. Updating the description to include bed placement would’ve been helpful.

We rented the cabin for 2 days . Late check out on Sunday. We fished and sat on the porch and listened to the creek running. The grandkids loved the fall leaves and catching crawfish at night. We caught 7 Rainbow Trout in 4 hours. We had an absolute blast. Can not wait to return. Thank you.

This is a very comfortable and quiet home to stay in. It is at the end of a fairly long unpaved road so your car will need a wash after your stay.

The great thing about this cabin is the proximity to the lake, state park, and other places close by to visit. It has a decent kitchen with amenities to make meals and a nice big wooden table that can accommodate 8 to 10 people. Where its lacking are the bathrooms, bedrooms, basement, and patio. They all need updates as the materials are old, outdated, and poorly crafted. They refrigerator leaks, and as well as the basement. They made some attempt at fixing the leak in the basement but having a dehumidifier running constantly and not covering the curtain membrane on the wall just looks unfinished. We had hoped to grill however the gas grill was out of propane and was very rusty. Overall, this property has great potential but currently falls short and is overpriced. I sincerely hope the owners see this review and make the necessary repairs and updates.

This place is literally in the middle of nowhere and we loved it! Honestly I thought I was going the wrong way because it’s a narrow dirt road and the house is pretty far down. We had a wide age and this place worked perfectly. The littlest could walk down to the creek right behind the house and have a perfect place to play. While the older teens and adults could explore just about anywhere they turned! There were lots of cars parking on the road in front of the house and all the way down to the party going to sliding rock. The hike to sliding rock is easy and gorgeous! Loved the house and location. Would say there could be so improvements but nothing too major. It also may time to schedule a deep clean.
