We have
We celebrated our 25th anniversary trip at this exceptional cabin in the woods with our two best friends. Everything was perfect. Clean, convenient, comfortable. Owners were very helpful with questions, helping us enjoy a perfect vacation. Highly recommended.
This property is spectacular in every way. LOCATION. Cleanliness, pure charm, beautiful interior wood, private lot, absolute communication with the owner, special “extras”… I can go on and on. I felt blessed these owners share their place.
First time to Glacier. Could not have asked for a better host, accommodation, cleanliness, location. The cabin was perfectly stocked with everything we needed! The Tyrees went way above and beyond to make us feel welcomed! Definitely recommend this place!
This property was perfect for our family of six - two adults and four kids ages 4-9. We loved the seclusion and privacy it offered but really appreciated how close it was to the gate to Glacier National Park! The property is really beautiful and we loved the views off the back porch. We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs/AirBnB’s and this property was probably the most well stocked of any we’ve stayed at. We cooked quite a few meals there and they had everything we needed. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable and appliances were new and easy to use. Richard and Shelly were wonderful hosts!
We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful property. The hosts were great and I’d highly recommend.
We recently had the opportunity to stay at Richard and Shelly’s. This was our first time staying in the cabin and plan to book again summer 2024. The location is superb, conveniently located to Glacier Park. We love the sense of privacy and seclusion the cabin offered. The convenience of having all the amenities within easy reach and the ability to retreat into the private hideaway was the perfect blend. The views from the cabin are nothing short of spectacular. We spent many relaxing evenings on the porch. It was the perfect setting for leisurely breakfasts and relaxing evenings. One of the things we appreciated most was the excellent communication from the host. They were prompt, clear, and super friendly, offering guidance and answering our questions swiftly and efficiently. We will look forward to staying again.
This property and the hosts are fantastic!! It’s so close to the west glacier entrance and the place has everything. We loved the outdoor fire pit! The host is amazingly helpful and responsive. Perfect spot for your glacier visit
The listed property is accurate. It's super close to GNP, every activity and dinner we did. We felt at home as soon as we walked in the door! We enjoyed the camp fire, bikes, walks and games provided. Didn't have the tv at all; which was amazing! Richard was very responsive to all the questions we had. This was our first time to GNP and Montana. It's so hard to plan a vacation like this when you have no idea what you're walking into, but choosing this cabin was one of the best decisions we made. In fact, our entire vacation was amazing! Beware the first part of the Going To The Sun Road is a disaster, a ton of potholes/craters up to Avalanche Lake. Pack you patience for that. Not sure when they will fix or pave that part of the road.
We really enjoyed our stay!! First, the cabin/ property was first-rate. Richard and Shelly had everything imaginable ready and waiting. Excellent kitchen, stove, fridge, washer /dryer, wi-fi, satelliteTV, bikes, fire pit, grill, maps, pointers, etc. This property has a “newer” and modern feel for sure; nothing seemed old or worn out. And the “bear” theme was awesome. Bears dispersed throughout the house in photos, woodwork, everywhere! As for location, it is just a few minutes from West Glacier park entrance. Gas stations, a smallish but helpful grocery store, gift shop etc. This made it easy for us to pick up forgotten items and get to the park multiple times over 3 days for drives, hikes, info etc. We also were able to drive the 1.5 to 2 hour distance to other park entrance points at Two Medicine and St Mary’s, and found the 30-45 minute drive to Whitefish and then Kalispell convenient for larger stores. Although all of GNP rentals seem pricey at first glance, sometimes you have to suck it up and go for quality. We were quite pleased with this first time visit and stay at a location sight unseen. Would love to come back someday with friends. Thank you Richard and Shelley!
It would be hard to find a more convenient location for visiting the west side of Glacier National Park and the various communities around West Glacier. Super easy access to the park, great property. The lack of a normal shower in the main floor bathroom is a bit different, but we knew that going in. Richard and Shelly are awesome hosts!
The cabin was located in an area that had the feel of being away from everything. However it was within walking distance of West Glacier Village. We enjoyed walking with the grandchildren to the village each evening. We saw deer at the cabin. We drove into Whitefish and Hungry Horse several times. We are planning on selecting this cabin again.
Great Host, great house near Glacier National Park.
This home was perfectly located for our family; close to west entrance of Glacier and easy access to head to Whitefish, Kalispell, Columbia Falls, etc. Everything you need is there at cabin and in a wooded area with gorgeous view, outdoor deck and fire pit area. You felt like you were in your own remote setting, but minutes to everything.Set up was nice to put the teens on the lower level where they had their own living area and shower. Owner was exceptional in passing on information, tips and left a cell phone if we needed. Wonderful area to spend in Montana. We look forward to returning in future.
What a great location! Just 2-3 minutes from the West Glacier main entrance but still feels like you’re deep in your own private woods. The property is great as it feels like you’ve truly gotten away from it all, which makes the outdoor spaces great to use. We spent a lot of time out on the deck and the fire pit enjoying the spectacular views and visits from the wildlife. We saw several deer, a multitude of different birds and we’re pretty sure we heard a moose that was keeping its distance. The only location related downside is something you’ll have to deal with anywhere in the town of West Glacier, and that is the train. Trains pass through West Glacier with regularity, even late at night or early in the morning. So if you’re particularly sensitive to hearing a train horn, you might not want to be in West Glacier at all. The main shared area inside the cabin is cozy. We had 3 couples, so it was maybe a bit tight, but still totally workable for more if needed. We played the game of counting all the bears in the place. Was a fun time. The kitchen is well laid out and reasonably well equipped. But there were a few things we could have used for the kitchen, which I’ve passed along to the host. Which brings me to my next point. The host was great. They left a few goodies for us upon arrival, made a comprehensive binder with information regarding the place, helpful locations for things like groceries, and nearby activities they recommend. The host was also responsive when I had questions, which happened a few times. They made it easier to spend our time there. While we loved our time here, there were a few things that people should make sure they’re aware of. The shared bathroom on the main floor does have a tub and a wand, but isn’t really a full shower. So the best shower option for all of us was in the basement, along with the laundry. To access the bathroom downstairs, you’re going through the living space and bed of whoever is staying down there, so that can require some coordination. Also, as they mentioned in the posting, the internet truest is less than stellar. If you’re fighting to get your permits for Glacier at 8 AM, you might want to find a more reliable option as it can be slow, and some cell carriers have zero service. Overall, this place was wonderful and an amazing location. We would love to stay here again if we do a similar trip in the future.
