Cruthirds: Casual Comfort and Mountain Charm

Welcome to Cruthirds Cabin, a cozy retreat named in honor of family ancestors, offering the perfect mix of mountain charm and casual comfort. This inviting cabin is designed for a laid-back escape with a spacious outdoor area, a covered hot tub, and all the warmth of a traditional Ruidoso cabin. Step inside to a welcoming living space featuring an open kitchen, dining area, and a wood-burning fireplace (firewood is NOT provided), with largewindows framing the natural beauty outside.

Nestled in a quiet, secluded neighborhood, Cruthirds is a stone's throw from downtown shopping, dining, and entertainment, yet remains a peaceful hideaway for recharging and savoring the crisp mountain air. With visits from local wildlife like deer, elk, and even the occasional wild turkey, every stay promises a touch of nature. The fully equipped kitchen invites you to prepare your favorite meals, or simply bring home a taste of Ruidoso from nearby restaurants.

Wake up refreshed in cozy beds, and start your mornings with a warm drink by the fireplace on crisp, cool days. For summer stays, central air conditioning ensures extra comfort, though the cool mountain breezes and open windows are often all you'll need. With dog-friendly accommodations, Cruthirds is a wonderful spot to share mountain moments with loved ones—two- and four-legged alike!

Ruidoso, Alto, and surrounding areas: Submerse yourself within the towering pines of Lincoln County and watch local wildlife such as elk, deer, wild horses, turkey, birds, and more in their natural habitats. Be sure to swim or fish at the beautiful Grindstone or Alto Lake, delight your senses at Winter Park with roller coaster and tubing, and explore the ski slopes and hiking trails throughout Ski Apache. Win big at one of our three local casinos and enjoy the excitement of live quarter horse racing at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack. Be happy you took a respite from the concrete jungle. Not a bad location, home could use some upkeep. Had problem with ants in the kitchen.

When we arrived we couldn't get in the cabin. The code machine on the front door didn't work. We called the property manager & they sent out a maintenance man. He couldn't get it to work either so they gave us a key. The beds upstairs were like sleeping on the floor. They definitely need replacing. The cabin certainly does not look like the pictures on the website. Other than that the wildlife was beautiful, the weather was perfect & we enjoyed the many things to do around town.

Location was great. Quiet and peaceful. Kitchen had all utensils. The cabin itself was great. The downfalls: upstairs beds were hard and hard to walk around- they should be rearranged to the roof so it's easy to walk around. The dresser and blanket box should be where the closet was. Hot tub was nice but sketchy to get in due to the porch not having adequate support underneath. The support that is there isn't touching the ground, roof over hot tub leans making hot tub look like it's sloping and ready to fall. Overall, we enjoyed the cozy cabin and our stay. Loved waking up to these big windows to have breakfast. Cabin was easy to find and convenient to town.

The property was gorgeous and cozy. The cabin exceeded all expectations and I would be thrilled to stay again. I highly recommend this listing. You will enjoy the Jacuzzi outdoors, looking out to the undeveloped forest.A

Nice property for our weekend getaway. Master room had plenty of room for our babies pack n play. My husband wanted to stay at a house that didn’t have very close neighbors since we brought our dogs with us and this property fit the bill. It was quiet and peaceful, with many deer walking around. The hot tub was nice to use after a day of walking and shopping. There was a nice lake close to the cabin.

Our group included mom, dad, and a toddler! The cabin was located VERY close to the lake and good hiking. Short drive down to midtown. We only saw 1 deer around the cabin because the ground was so sloped. It had a big fireplace. The hot tub was okay. It had both a drip coffee pot and a kuerig. The walls creaked a lot at night, and the stairs were loud. You can hear people upstairs easily from downstairs. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and had only petty complaints! Also the owners responded within minutes every time I messaged them. My husband hated the beds, but I didn’t have a problem with them.

This is a wonderful property. Nice and quaint, isolated but convenient. 5 minutes from the downtown strip, but when there feels like you’re 30 minutes out. Also perfect location for fishing trips. 7 minute walk to grindstone.. just could bot say enough about this place. Wildlife everywhere, safe and sound. Left my fishing rods on the deck and were left there all trip. This place is amazing.
