Crossland House: Your Favorite Romantic Getaway - with Hot Tub and Creek Access

It was great

Truly the perfect size for 2. My husband and I were there to attend a wedding over the weekend up the road in Dripping Springs. The Crossland House provided relaxing and spacious accommodations away from the hustle of Austin in a well designed space, but close enough for a 25 minute drive to wedding festivities. Kitchen seemed ready for use, although we did not use any appliances except the coffee pot and refrigerator for items brought from home. A community fire pit is within easy walking distance from your front door and your own private hot tub within steps of your back door and behind a privacy fence. There are several other different cottages on the property, and although close, all are oriented in a way that protects privacy in and around each rental. The property is located 1 street away from downtown Wimberley Square packed with boutiques, restaurants and parks, but you will want to drive and not walk the approx. 1/2 mile to get there. Parking downtown is limited particularly on a busy weekend (ours was the beginning of spring break for most school districts) so plan your time accordingly. The only disappointment was in the entry. Flooded with open floor to ceiling windows in the rental photos, the back wall of windows was covered by privacy shades that were not removable when we arrived. This open windows of this room was a selling point for me when we booked. Overall, we would still choose to stay again.

The host was welcoming and I appreciated the detailed instructions provided prior to arrival. The cabin was clean and tastefully decorated. Having the cabin within walking distance of downtown shops, entertainment, and nature trails was a huge bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Our stay was amazing!!! We really enjoyed the hot tub and how peaceful and quite it was. Also super close to downtown, within walking distance. We'll definitely be back!

Very quaint. When we got the this place there were deer to greet us and cardinals flying around, it was perfect as we entered into the home. The bed was so extremely cozy. This place is close to everything and it felt like being home.

Cabin was perfect - great condition, clean, had everything we needed. Specifically we were seeking a property on its own. There are quite a few cabin groups out in this area and thought we had avoided that when booking this property. Will happily return with a group of friends or family, but this was not quite the private romantic getaway we had planned on.

Cabin was cozy with very quiet and beautiful surroundings. The cabin was very well appointed and spacious. Only criticism…. It would be nice if amenities were added like coffee, sweetener, sugar and creamer, sample size lotions, mouthwash etc.

Extremely easy to find, the location was amazing, if felt private even though there was 5 other cabins on the property. You could walk a short distance to shopping.

The house was exactly as described and it was perfect.We found that the Wimberley Cafe is wonderful.A couple suggestions:1) We reached out via the app three times without any response. Finally, the week of the vacation we received a response. Would have liked to have communication a little earlier.2) Directions for the television and internet were good but maybe some suggestions of things to do in Wimberley would be helpful. Such as recommended restaurants, hiking paths, bicycle paths, or anything other than the square.

Hot tub lights did not work. Therefore, the hot tub was not used. This was one of a few deciding factors that contributed to my decision to rent the property.

We love this house because we can easily walk to town. The wifi password is incorrectly written in the checkin instructions and book at the house. The host was also not helpful with this and cell service was poor in the area. The house is also poorly stocked and skimpy on linens. Otherwise we had a great stay.

Beautiful location. Pictures are accurate of the home inside and out. We loved watching the deer and seeing all of the birds. Our particular cabin was not waterfront, but you had access to it.Our only suggestions are the following: the hot tub had significant dirt and debris floating in it, which limited are used to only once out of a 3 night stay. Second, was that they only left us one garbage bag which we filled up pretty much within a day and then had to go buy our own garbage bags to put in the garbage bin. A couple of extra bags would be nice especially if you are there fir mire than a day. The other thing that the homeowner should advise is the significant change in flooring from the entryway/family room to the bedroom. There is a 1/2-3/4 inch drop off. I did not notice the change in flooring when moving our things in to the master bedroom and toe picked that uneven area and it resulted in me falling and bruising my knees and elbow and hitting my head on the floor. One suggestion would be to put some bright tape on that so that other people do not have the same experience of tripping and falling that I did or noting that somewhere in the welcome/check in instructions. Other than that, we would highly recommend this property to others.

The cabin was located close to the Wimberley Square and shopping and eating. It was in a group of cabins near Cypress Creek but not overlooking the creek as one of the pictures depicts. However, it was just a short walk to the creek. Very picturesque with most evenings being able to see multiple deer grazing in the yard. One night we saw a group of 8. The cabin was clean and very roomy for 2 people and was rustic but modern. We really enjoyed it!

House was great! Plenty of privacy and Located within walking distance to downtown. Would highly recommend to anyone.
