Marcell, Minnesota
Fully remodeled historic stone cottage on beautiful Smith Lake in Minnesota's Northwoods. Peaceful and quiet with every modern amenity - walk in glass shower, WiFi, smart TV, convection oven, and Traeger Grill. Two fire pits, log swing and a full deck (built around a huge pine) lead to a stone and wood staircase down to the dock.
Guests are welcome to use the small fishing boat and kayak on the property, and sunbathe on the floating island during summer months, or icefish in winter. Snowmobile trails are less than half a mile away. Suomi Hills trailhead is just down the road, Scenic State Park and the stunning Chippewa National Forest are close by and accessible for exploring. The cabin next door (sleeps 10) with game room is also available to rent if you are traveling with a group. Property ID 3339927
I loved the property. My only disappointment was that the fireplace cannot be used. The host says plans are for a gas insert and that would make this wonderful cabin perfect. There are several cabins around it but our weekend was very quiet. I'm not sure what summer would be like.
The stone cottage was a great place to stay for our fall trip to northern Minnesota. Grouse hunting close by and a cute, comfortable cabin to relax in. It contained everything we needed to make our stay pleasurable, including lots of towels, comfortable beds, great shower, plenty of kitchen supplies, and a nice Keurig coffeemaker. Cozy decor yet updated and very clean. Beautiful views from the large deck. We’d love to go back!
The fall colors just starting to turn, cozy cabin, loons and swans on the lake. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, will come again. RJB
This property is beautifully, clean and exactly as described. Loved our stay, will keep on our short list of places to visit again. Wonderful view of the lake.
Wonderful, peaceful, cozy, beautiful view, what more can I say. We really enjoyed our self’s. We hope to return!
Pleasant stay. Will consider for future getaways.
We loved the charm this place offered. It was the perfect blend of old world charm with modern amenities. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. My only critique would be that the owner put in the description that this is a “shared” property. They have a rental right next door that uses the same dock, kayaks, and paddle boards. By no means was it a deal breaker, but still would have been nice to know before booking. Overall, it was the perfect week of relaxation!
Relaxing
We enjoyed so much about this location. It offers a lot of amenities in one place. Two of the bedroom screens have holes so beware if you attract mosquitos. My child and I look like we have chickenpox now but it was our own fault for not double checking the screens before bed. The kitchen and bathroom is well stocked. The bedrooms are comfy with great storage. The dining room, living room, porch, backyard and dock were paradise. We had a lot of luck fishing and enjoyed swimming, kayaking and reading while floating on the water. Its perfect for families, kids and dogs. If your dog loves to swim this spot is heaven.
