Area Attractions
The area is a hiker's paradise, with dozens of trails and waterfalls to explore within a 30-45 minute drive from the cabin! There's also nearby access to kayaking, canoeing, tubing, cycling, shopping & great restaurants.
A quick ten minute drive takes you to central Lake Toxaway, where you’ll find a nice selection of restaurants and activities.
Gorges State Park is only 15 minutes from the cabin, and offers many lovely hikes, waterfalls and scenic views to explore. We are also a 20 minute’s drive from Sapphire and 28 minutes from Cashiers.
Going the other direction, it takes 20 minutes to get to Brevard, a cute little town known for white squirrels and mountain biking, with lots of great breweries and restaurants to try out.
Driving a little further from Brevard takes you to the beautiful Pisgah National Forest. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 40 minutes from the cabin via the lovely Parkway Road.
Or, take the day to explore Asheville, which is only an hour’s drive away.
Guest access
You'll have the entire cabin to yourself.
There is a keypad lock on the door of the cabin for self-check-in - just enter the lock code sent before your arrival.
Other things to note
The cabin includes complimentary Wi-Fi and an in-unit washer and dryer.
Please note that the kitchen and living area are located on the ground floor, and there is one flight of stairs to access the bedroom and bathrooms on the second level. The spaces are cozy and carefully & lovingly designed to include everything you should need for a very comfortable stay with up to four people, but note that this is a fairly small cabin.
Access to the cabin is off of a short gravel road, with a fairly steep (but short) paved driveway and parking in a gravel area next to the cabin for two or three cars, with room to turn around (to avoid having to back down the driveway). Should be accessible to any type of vehicle, but is NOT suitable for trailers (not enough room to turn with a trailer).
You may lose cell service on the way to the cabin and in parts of the surrounding area but should have it at the cabin.
Must be 25 years or older to book and the person making the reservation must be present for the stay (no third-party bookings).
We love pets and are happy to welcome up to two furry friends for a flat fee of $50 (additional pets accepted on a case-by-case basis for an additional fee). Please inquire with information about your pets. We ask that you do not allow pets on beds or furniture (or bring protective blankets), and please pick up after them so all of our guests can have an enjoyable experience.
Please note that while we have regular pest control treatment performed at the cabin, the natural setting comes with the possibility of insects etc getting inside from time to time.
Please also note that we do not provide refunds due to inclement weather or natural disasters unless there is a mandatory evacuation. We do suggest that you obtain travel insurance.
For the security of our guests and our property in the unlikely event there is ever an issue, we have an exterior security camera (audio & video) installed above the front door facing the driveway. It will be on and recording during your stay (no active monitoring, only a precaution).
* Longer stays are welcome and discounted - please inquire! *

Stayed for the weekend to enjoy some time with our daughter going to college nearby. It is a small cabin, but the living areas felt roomy and the amenities were modern and updated. The bedrooms were just the right size and the beds were comfortable.
We spent a wonderful week at the Hillside Hideaway! The cabin was so cozy and centrally located to all of our activities! We even played golf in three different states nearby! We started at the Sapphire National Golf Club very near to the cabin (Sapphire, NC). It was a beautiful public course in the NC rolling hills. The same afternoon, we drove an hour south and played The Rock Golf Club in Pickens, SC. It was another beautifully kept public course and even had a waterfall: Gauley Falls! Another day, we ventured to Sky Valley, GA and played the Sky Valley Country Club course. It is a semi-private country club, meaning that some amentities are for members only but the golf course is open to the public. This course was another beauty and had a church nearby that played bells every hour and at 3pm, played two hymns in bells. Amazing. We saw Whitewater Falls, Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock, and many more... all easily found using the guide provided by the homeowners! We took a drive through part of the Blue Ridge Parkway for amazing views! Highly recommend! We loved venturing out to the small towns nearby and eating lots of great food! Lake Toxaway: Panthertown Cafe Los Vaqueros Cashiers: Whiteside Brewing Company Brevard: Big Mike's Pizza Morning Social Square Root Cafe Downtown Chocolates All were excellent! Overall, this was an amazing getaway! Annchen and Diana were so helpful and responsive! Have fun playing the cabin bingo game!
We had a great girls trip at the Hillside Hideaway. There were 4 of us for 4 days. The cabin was so comfortable and decorated so nice! Everything we needed was provided. Each day it was a short drive to the numerous falls, state parks and hiking trails we visited in the county and nearby. We took along picnic lunches and the hiking sticks from the cabin which helped on the trails. In the evenings we played triva games and drank wine. In the mornings we enjoyed our coffee and the quiet of the cabin. There was a fun cabin bingo game that sent us on a scavenger hunt. The hammock on the front porch was fun too! We will definitely come back when we can.
Best coziest cabin ever, loved location & sooo relaxing, cannot wait to come back soon
The cabin had plenty of amenities that made it perfect for our short stay. We were able to grill out, enjoy the fire pit, get a good night's rest in some peace and quiet.
