We were so happy to spend time in this sweet cabin with the marvelous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin was fully stocked with just about anything needed for cooking/eating and just being comfortable. Our hosts were easily available if needed, but all out stay was perfect. We even had great sleep! We just wished we had a couple more days to spend here.

Property was exactly as pictured. The cabin was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were very comfortable. Commication with owner was excellent...Chris met us at checkin for a quick orientation. Phenomenal view. My only two concerns...the TV is dorm room size and the speakers are horrible, and a fire pit for ambiance would be great. We would recommend everyone to stay at Blue Span.

The cabin was exactly what we expected and needed for us to escape our corporate routine. Location wise - the cabin is perched above the river with an undisturbed view of the mountains. Don't let the serenity fool you, you're only a quick 15 minute drive from town, which houses some of the best ice cream we've ever had. The outfitters was a 2 minute drive up the road for convenient access to river activities, and Kennedy Peak hike is a quick 15 minute drive. After a long day or canoeing and cavern exploring, we spent each night slow-dancing on the open patio as fireflies danced all around us. If you're looking for a calm but convenient getaway, this is the place for you.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, Chris and Kathy made us feel right at home. They were incredibly nice and communicated with us throughout our stay, ensuring we had everything we needed. The house itself was spotless and well-maintained, which made our stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Every morning, we spent our time sipping coffee in the backyard, soaking in the stunning scenery. It was the perfect way to start our day!We couldn't have asked for a better getaway, and we highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing retreat. Thank you, Chris and Kathy, for your hospitality! We can't wait to return!

My husband and I spent 3 glorious days at this cabin. We spent our days hiking trails in the Shenandoah and spent our evenings cooking at home to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and gorgeous views. Very chill, very quiet, and very relaxing. A bit off the beaten path which we appreciated. If this is what you are looking for, we highly recommned it.

An amazing view and a comfortable place to see it from! Everything was as described/pictured and the size was just right for two single friends for a long weekend getaway. Friendly hosts made sure we had everything we needed and the cabin was very well stocked. It has a homey feel of a semi-rustic guesthouse for family and friends, not an impersonal rental unit. Comfy beds and pillows. Coffee and all the fixings thoughtfully provided for the standard 12-cup Mr Coffee maker. Easy 15-20 minute drive to amenities in Luray, but we spent most of the time just relaxing and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature from the patio or sofas inside. I had spotty cell and text coverage, as to be expected for the mountain location, but the cabin has excellent wifi which is definitely a perk. The tap water tastes good, so no need to buy bottled. There is one window AC unit in the main area and ceiling fans and stand fans throughout, and the nights were cool enough to open the bedroom windows. The cabin temperature stayed comfortable, in my opinion, for July days with highs in the upper 80s. If you are someone who likes a really cold room, especially for sleeping, this probably would not be the right place for you in the height of summer--maybe go when you can use the fireplace which looks awesome (we of course did not use it in July). I would certainly stay here again.

First off thank you Kathy and Chris. You have been so helpful, and my son and I had a wonderful visit. You’re great hosts, and found this cabin to be family friendly and relaxing. That view is a sight to behold, and just looking at the mountains and trees brings stress to more normal levels. Fully recommend you!
