Pine Mountain Club, California
Enjoy an easy inexpensive weekend getaway in this rustic mountain cabin just an hour and a half from LA, halfway between the I-5 at the Grapevine and Santa Maria on the coast. Located on a cul-de-sac in Pine Mountain Club, a private community in the Los Padres National Forest. 35 minutes from Pyramid Lake and an hour from Magic Mountain.
Available for rent any time. $160/night, 2 night minimum. 3 night minimum at higher rate some holiday periods. 5 person maximum, including children and infants.
There is normally no added cleaning fee for your rental because I rent this as a HOUSEKEEPING CABIN - GUESTS PROVIDE THEIR OWN SHEETS, TOWELS AND FIREWOOD AND CLEAN THE CABIN WHEN LEAVING. There's no washer/dryer at the cabin so guests provide their own linens. Cleaning is easy - I provide a simple checklist and all cleaning supplies. My manager will check the cabin when you leave.
My cabin is located on two lots on a cul-de-sac, total 2/3 acre, and backs up to a green belt, so it feels very private. All knotty pine interior with lodge-like furnishings. Two large bedrooms - one with a queen bed, one with a full and a twin; high chair; one bathroom with combination tub/shower; stone fireplace; large deck overlooking wooded area. Large well-equipped kitchen including blender, coffee grinder, microwave, crock pot, pots and pans, condiments in the fridge - everything but a dishwasher! Beautiful stained glass window in living room with scene of local hills. Two smart TVs for streaming, plus books, board games and puzzles. Dual-pane windows for comfort summer and winter. Wifi internet connection and Magic Jack phone for domestic calls (at the moment there is only Verizon cell service in PMC - now Spectrum cell service works off Verizon towers.)
Rental includes access to beautiful mountain golf course; swimming pool in summer months; catch-and-release fishing in Fern Lake, a 20 minute walk away; tennis courts; basketball and volleyball court; children's playground; clubhouse with video game room, restaurant, lounge with wifi and live music on weekends.
Village business area has restaurants, gas station, market, laundromat, post office; gift shops, internet cafe plus seasonal festivals and fairs. Hiking, sledding and cross country skiing on Mount Pinos (8800') 25 minutes away, and trail rides at a jousting school 20 miles away. Just across the street from the cabin are the Snowflake Trails - a lovely wooded area with pathways leading to the village, and rustic tables under the trees - an easy woodsy walk without getting in the car, especially nice for little kids.
In the winter I provide sleds, and you are welcome to use the extra boots and gloves for adults and kids that I keep in a closet downstairs. There is no smoking in the cabin.
Refundable $200 cleaning/security deposit required to hold reservation; deposit will be returned in full once the cabin has been checked and found clean and undamaged.
Roads are very well maintained by Pine Mountain Club but weather can change quickly in the mountains so be prepared with 4-wheel drive or chains in winter. Rarely, during snowy weather the CHP may stop you from driving in to PMC or up to Mt. Pinos if you don't carry chains, even if you're not required to put them on.

Toni’s place was absolutely perfect for our group of three! Her place was clean, well organized - and had such a warm, cozy feel to it. We hardly left her place-it was that enjoyable. The place had everything we needed, and her guidebook and notes were super helpful. The place is a treasure!! Toni as a host was just spot on-a great communicator and responsive. This experience was A+ and I absolutely want to return!
We had a wonderful time staying here. It was the perfect get away!
This beautiful 2-story cabin in PMC was a wonderful place to stay on our 3-week vacation. So well organized, stocked and furnished. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the fireplace, the back deck, and the fact that it was pet friendly! Lots to do in the local area too. Toni was easy to communicate when we needed to ask questions, etc. A great host. Thanks Toni!
Third time at Toni's cabin. This time we visited in the winter and enjoyed the fireplace and great sun exposure on the deck! Also ventured out to the nearby trail where there was some snow left over from a reason storm, which my dogs thoroughly enjoyed.
3rd time staying at this cabin. Very cozy. Saw the most snow we have ever seen, it was beautiful. Pine Mountain looked like a picture, snow everywhere.
We have stayed at a few cabins at pine mountain and this is our favorite! Ample living area and bedroom space. Two wonderful deck areas with outdoor furniture. Nice fire place. A very cozy get away in peace and quiet of wonderful pine mountain club. Highly recommend.
The cabin looks just like the pictures. Very beautiful cozy cabin, accommidated with everything you probably forgot.Very private, amazing view, 1 foot of snow when we arrived, & snowed on us twice while we were there. Great place!
We stayed two nights and enjoyed every minute of our time in PMC. It is quiet and dark so that you can enjoy your surroundings peacefully. The cabin is as described. There are a lot of notes around the cabin to explain how to use it and where things are stored. If you go in the winter, make sure you turn the heat on in the bedrooms a little while before you get ready for bed, as it is COLD! The dogs loved sitting in front of the fireplace with us to warm up. But my older dog (11 yr old GSD/Husky) had some issues with the stairs inside and out. Something to remember if you are traveling with older pets or, for that matter, people. :) The TV downstairs has Netflix, prime video, and others available. There are also a lot of movies and some CDs available. If you want to listen to your music from your phone, bring your Bluetooth speaker. Verizon phone service and the internet worked well. Pets are allowed, and there are a couple of water bowls and toys. We brought dog beds with us. The floors are cold and hard, and no dogs are allowed on the furniture. The food in town was good. We went to the Bear Claw Bakery and had baked goods and very good bear claw mochas. They also have food items for lunch or breakfast. We had lunch at the condor cafe on the golf course and soup at the Mexican restaurant. All of it was very good.
Great cabin! Was just as pictured/ described. We unfortunately had to cut out stay short but cant wait to come back. Toni was great and very responsive.
Well maintained clean cabin with lots of comforters, cooking utensils/pots and pans, all paper products. Pine lap siding varnished throughout inside of cabin with unique decor throughout. It was beautiful when it snowed a couple of inches and froze to the trees which there are many. Short walk across the street to the snowflake trails which were well maintained. Toni contacted us while we were there and made sure everything was ok.
Amazing
We enjoyed our stay at Toni's cabin. We were out most of each day but coming back to this cosy cabin was great. Nice and quiet and with great facilities.
Our second time staying at the cabin. Couldn't ask for better weather. Already planning our next visit!
The location is great. Very secluded and private but at the same time just a short stroll away from the village center with the grocery store and restaurants. Bear Claw Bakery is awesome! We will definitely be back. Thanks, Toni!
As soon as we walked in the door my girlfriend said this was already her favorite home stay we've booked. We were in love with the DVD/CD collection, the fireplace, the family photo album, wall art and the surrounding trails. Everything in this home and the greater neighborhood seemed to carry a story and I only wish I had a chance to speak with the owner in more depth about it! We slept comfortably, and the clean-up process was easy. I would happily come back to this place in the snow. If you're coming from the Santa Barbara/Ventura area I highly recommend taking the 33 all the way over for a scenic drive!
