Rustic and inviting cabin along a lovely mountain creek, borders Pisgah National Forest. You will love relaxing on the deck under the trees listening to the peaceful sounds of our creek. Inside your private retreat you will find a full kitchen, loft with queen size bed and full size bed in the downstairs bedroom. Comfortable dining and living areas with TV, Blue Ray player and high-speed wireless Internet access. Spend the cool evenings in front of a cozy fire.
Nestled at the base of Mount Pisgah, your backyard is over 80,000 acres of protected National Forest. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and long nature walks just outside the front door. Take a leisurely drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, just four miles from the cabin. At Creekstone Cabin you're only a 25-minute drive to downtown Asheville and the best the area has to offer in attractions, entertainment, dining, shopping, outdoor activities, and more.

INSIDE THE CABIN
The upstairs loft is accessed by a narrow spiral staircase to the catwalk (see pictures) leading to the bed area at one end and and the dressing area at the other. Please mind your head up here as the ceiling is vaulted and the highest clearance is only 6 feet. The queen size bed faces creek side, letting you drift off to sleep to its soothing sound. When you awaken, you will find yourself just below canopy level looking down on the moss and rhododendron-covered back yard; a great way to greet your day. The downstairs bedroom has a full size bed that also faces creek side so everyone gets lulled to sleep by the burbling creek.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, bake ware and your serving/dining needs. The kitchen has a microwave, toaster, mixer, utensils, paper and cleaning products, and full sized stove and range; everything you need to prepare a great meal. In the cabinet above the microwave you will find growlers to a couple of our local breweries and we hope you put them to good use!
The living area is a great place to relax for conversation or a good book in front of a crackling fire. Enjoy a movie from our library or stream from the cabin's Netflix account or your own streaming service via ROKU. Use your mobile device to stream your own music playlists through the Bluetooth equipped surround sound system. My cabin provides a great blend of rustic feel with modern amenities.
The well lit bathroom has modern fixtures, and offers a shower/tub combination. While small it has what you need, including hair dryer, soaps and shampoo in case you run short, and all your linen/paper needs.

OUTSIDE
The three season deck is just about every guest's favorite feature; a spacious 16' x 20' with gas grill, teak furniture, tiki torches and deck umbrella complete with lights! Great for entertaining, reading, watching the humming birds, goldfinches, and cardinals all to the backdrop of the burbling creek. To sit out here wrapped in the nurturing embrace of the woods will renew your strength and replenish your spirit.
Off the back side of the deck is a path that leads across the creek and into the national forest. Enjoy a short hike to Stony Fork Creek (1/3 mile) or a 3 mile round trip journey up to the abandoned logging road on the ridge line above the cabin. Take a walk down the road and explore the modest homes and cabins in the area.
The Pisgah National Forest and DuPont Forest in the area offer more hiking than a person could do in a lifetime. You will find hiking guide books and maps at the cabin that can help you decide which hikes are right for you. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 4 miles up the road from the cabin offering breath taking views, scenic drives, and (you guessed it!) plenty of hiking.

GRATITUDE
I'd like to say thank you for taking the time to consider booking my cabin. This truly is a special place that is precious to me; I miss living here every single day. My intent is to return and make Creekstone Cabin my permanent residence in 2030, maybe earlier if I'm very lucky. It has been a joy for me to share the cabin with like-minded people, looking for respite from life's demands. I am truly grateful to all my guests; you make it possible for me to hold on to this rustic gem.
-John

I nice small cottage near Blue Ridge Parkway. I especially appreciated the woodstove and supplies of kindling & firewood. Kitchen is fully equipped & also includes washer & dryer. Owner was easily reached by cellphone to let him know about diceyice maker. Bathroom is especially nice w/ handheld showerhead & plenty of shampoos & soaps. There were 2 minor problems...the cottage had just been sprayed by exterminator on day of my arrival so it had an initial strong odor but this seemed to clear after day 1. Secondly, the TV could only get 3 channels(ABC & 2 others), but not a big deal for me when the Blue Ridge Parkway was only 4 miles away...

Loved everything about the cabin! It was immaculately clean and stocked with everything you could need for a several days stay. We took advantage of the wood burning stove to warm things up on a cool night. There was plenty of firewood stocked inside and on the front deck. The loft bedroom and winding staircase were a nice addition to give space from the activities below. John was very thorough with his instructions for checking in, getting a fire started, and even had hiking books with comments by those that stayed that gave great suggestions on which of the many Asheville trails to visit. All around excellent stay and I look forward to our next visit to Asheville and John's cabin!

This was the perfect little getaway! We were only in town for 2 days so we spent most of the time in the cabin and exploring the surrounding woods. The cabin was cozy and had incredible amenities - the fully stocked kitchen really completed the experience as we did a lot of cooking. We plan to come back in the summer to do some more hiking and exploring!

Perfectly appointed cabin. Everything a hiker is looking for to get back to nature-- books on breathtaking hikes, walking sticks, backpack, and warm blankets to curl up under after a full day outside. The bed in the loft is extremely comfortable and host goes out of his way to make his guests feel welcome. We will be back!

Such a cozy little cabin that makes you feel right at home! We stayed in and made dinner more than we went out because of how equipped the kitchen was! It's in a great location and was relatively close to everything. The scenery is beautiful!!!

The cabin was like staying at a friend's home, cozy, clean, well furnished and equipped. Access to the Blue Ridge parkway, hwy 151, was very close by. The host was gracious and informative and available if needed. We highly recommend this property!

This place is amazing. The cutest and coziest place I’ve ever stayed at. Had everything we needed. Loved the location. The boys loved hiking in the woods and catching crawdads in the stream. We had an amazing time! Thank you so much!

The cabin is extremely charming, albeit a bit musty and the coffee maker doesn’t work. But the location is to die for. I loved being able to take a short walk to the large creek in the woods, the moss yard, and all the flora and fauna. John is a very kind and communicative host as well. Overall a pleasant stay!

We loved our stay in this peaceful little cabin. The water trickling by in the creek out back was soothing. We where to fortunate to be ether on a rainy week and enjoyed listening to the rain on the tin roof. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. My wife enjoyed being able to go out the door and be on the trails in the forest. You go out to the back yard and you are in the forest. It's a perfect little spot for two looking to escape the city.

Is a very nice cabin in a very quiet neighborhood. My only complaint is it smelled a little musty but you only noticed when you first walk in. But great location loved the loft and that it backed up to the national forest. Was very nice to fall asleep to the sound of the creek

Really enjoyed this little cabin in the woods! Cozy and quiet and tucked away, it’s a nice place to relax and recharge. The road it’s on is a little small, so just be careful backing out of the driveway!

We stayed for an extended weekend at the cabin and enjoyed it form the first to the last moment. Very nice decorated and well equipped cabin, perfectly clean, trails just staring behind the cabin and an attentive and friendly host. We will come back next year late summer or in early autumn.

The cabin was clean and well-equipped. The wi-fi was trouble-free. If I ever get back to the Asheville area I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was my second time staying at John’s cozy cottage. It is so warm and inviting. The property is beautiful. There are trails behind the house to explore and about a 15 minute ride to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The neighbors are friendly as well. We hope to be back next summer.

We absolutely loved our stay in this Cabin. Very clean, well equipped, quiet neighborhood, comfy beds, and a lovely, lovely porch for relaxing in the evenings after hiking the many trails in close proximity to the cabin, one right out the back door ! We could not have asked for a more relaxing, comfortable, and convenient place to stay for our 42 anniversary. It truly was an excellent vacation experience.
