Snow and Inclement Weather
The snow in Big Bear Lake is one of the best things about the area in the winter. However, there are some things to keep in mind when traveling to Big Bear Lake in the winter.
Guests may find it easier to fall or slip on snow & ice. We HIGHLY advise guests to be very cautious while walking on snow & ice and especially while around our property.
*If there is an incident of falling, sliding, slipping, or anything along those lines, we are not held responsible nor liable for said incidents and or any injuries incurred from these incidents. Guests must take full cautionary measures and responsibility to prevent any accidents from happening at any given time while on the property.
When it snows, we will try our best to have the parking and walkways areas
plowed/shoveled as soon as possible. However, there may be instances where you may find your car stuck in the snow if we receive heavy snowfall. A snow shovel will be provided at the home for your convenience.

The weather can be very unpredictable. Delivery services such as Door Dash, Instacart, and other restaurant/grocery-based deliveries are not reliable when it snows. Please come prepared by packing your own food /drinks when traveling to Big Bear during the winter months.

Please be aware of Big Bear travel restrictions and road conditions. Depending on the type of vehicle you have, chains may be required for driving on the mountain roads to and from Big Bear Lake.

The Altitude
Big Bear Lake is located at 7000+ feet above sea level. The air is ‘thinner’ up here in the mountains! Please make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, it will help you adjust to the altitude. The air can be dry so bring moisturizers.

Perfect weekend in a perfect cabin. So well designed - everything was thought of for our family of four. My four year old told me she wanted to go back and missed the house on the mountain!

My girlfriend and I loved our weekend getaway at Salt & Pine. The homeowners are so thoughtful when it comes to ensuring that the house is fully stocked with everything you could need. The cabin is fantastic, the backyard is surrounded by pine trees. I would absolutely recommend staying here to any of my friends and family.

My husband and I have been a few times to Bog Bear and this cabin was by far our best experience. This cabin is the perfect mix of old but new - walking distance from a wonderful coffee shop. The property is absolutely stunning and fully accommodated for anything you might need for the perfect getaway. The host was extremely responsive and very kind. We can’t wait for our next stay here.

Salt & Pine was clearly remodeled and designed with care. They’ve seemingly thought of everything. There were so many small, thoughtful touches added to the cabin. I wish we had stayed longer to make use of more of what the cabin had to offer. I really like the Moonridge neighborhood where Salt & Pine is located. I’ve stayed in the area at least 3 other times and it’s usually so nice and quiet, perfect for a stroll around the neighborhood or for catching bird sounds on my Merlin Bird ID app. My husband looooved the thick blanket on the king size bed, I loooved one of the blankets in the living room and have been meaning to ask the owner where she got it, and my son said the kids room bedding was very comfy as well. The yard has it all, which was the main draw for me. The owner was great to communicate with, we had no problems at all because she was just a text away. I’d absolutely recommend this cabin and would stay here again.

What a great cabin! I’m so glad we found this place. It was so nice inside, the decorations were on point. The bedroom was so warm and cozy. My husband and I were so impressed with the kitchen. We made a great dinner because of all the amenities. We loved sitting buy the fire pit, it made for a very romantic night. I would definitely recommend friends or family to come here. I have stayed in Big Bear before and this cabin was way nicer than the past. The host was so kind and easy to communicate with. Don’t hesitate to book here

This cabin was a great find! They had all kinds of great amenities in the kitchen and bedrooms. The host thought of everything to make a guest comfortable and happy. I was able to run in the woods from the house and enjoy the spa after. My kids loved playing outside in the backyard with the Firepit to end the night. I would definitely book this place again and tell friends because the host was so helpful and kind. You can tell she really just wants you to have a great experience.
