Cozy l Pool l River l Lake l Hot tub l Firepit

Really enjoyed this cabin and want to come back. Wish our trip was longer! Communication with property manager was good as well as the visitor guide. Pool and kyacks were fun. The only issue was: we tried to go hiking but the trail was blocked by logs on one side and then large trash on the other. But the hot tub was so nice and peaceful and the cabin was so cute, it was worth it. I'll also recommend to my sister and we'll hopefully come back in the near future!

Carmel Cottage was the perfect cozy spot for me and my daughter. It was very clean and well appointed. The decor was very cute, think hill country chic, and the surroundings by the lake and pool were nice and quiet. Check in and check out process was easy and seamless and Kelly was very welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Property was great! No surprises, nice amenities, well communicated instructions for check in, and getting to the property. Tons of helpful information for things to do close by or how to access things on the property and expectations. Highly recommend and would definitely return!

We had a fantastic stay. The facilities are awesome and the surrounding area is incredible. We swam in the lake, used the paddle board and kayaks, all of which were great. Our golden retriever especially loved the lake. Carmel Cottage was updated and very nice and the management was incredibly accommodating. Can't say enough good things about this place.

My family and I had a great time in this beautiful resort. The cabin was clean and organized. All the amenities were updated and all the necessities were available. The owners were very helpful and were always available when needed but we didn’t even ask for any help from them ‘coz everything was readily available. Will definitely come back. ❤️❤️❤️

We really enjoyed our stay and the house plus amenities were great! It was a very peaceful and relaxing time. We got to enjoy all of the wildlife and scenery. We will definitely be back again soon!

We had the best weekend at caramel cottage. We were in awe upon arriving outside of the cabin. The property is very well kept. The caramel cottage itself was GORGEOUS, the decorations and ambiance of the home, the private hot tub, the grill outside and the private hot tub made our wind down time everything we needed it to be. A short distance from the cabin is the lake, we spent our first day out there on paddle boards and kayaks. Our service dog even joined us on the paddle boats! This facility is pet friendly, not only that- they are equipped with comfort for your pet as well (dog bowls, dog bed, bathroom clean up bags) The river access was great as well, we found a swimming hole and put our chairs in the water and stayed there all day. There’s so much more I can say but it’s better to go see how amazing this stay is yourself! Thank you Kelly, you are a lovely host. Overall, we will never forget this stay! It was perfect!

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Carmel Cottage. We just wanted to get out of Austin for a weekend and slow down. The cottage was exactly what we're looking for. During the days we visited James Avery's Showroom, Stonehenge II, went hiking through Kerrville's city park and found ourselves at the nature center. We spent the evenings enjoying dinner and live music at the Hunt General Store. We were treated to clear, cool nights where we could stargaze while soaking in the hot tub with a fire crackling in the fire pit. I was a perfect weekend for us.

The property at Basecamp Resort had everything you needed for a nice, quiet get away. Caramel Cottage, was beautifully decorated, spacious, very clean, and had all the amenities you'd need, including hot tub, new grill, firepit (smores were delicious) and cozy bed. The property has its own private lake, which they supply paddle boads, kayaks, paddles, life jackets, etc. Also numerous ponds and river access to the Guadeloupe River only about 1 min away. We saw lots of deer, squirrels, birds, baby and momma armadillos. (Even got to play with babies) Lots of places to walk and hike and best of all the place is dog friendly. The owners, Jeremy and Kelly were both great and made check in and out so easy. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to going back!
