Cute cabin, wonderful property and beautiful areas to explore. We had a fantastic trip.

This was definitely exactly what we needed. Quiet little place off the beaten path, easy enough to find if you know where you're going. Property was clean and accessible for outloading and unloading our personal belongings and once we were inside, it was heaven. All of the comforts from home! Fun things to do on the property and the hot tub was amazing after a long day of walking and exploring. There are so many wonderful things to say about this Hideaway, and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful place this cabin is located. There were two horses we were able to say hello too!!! Very relaxing and clean!!!!

My boyfriend and I went here for an escape in the woods and that exactly what we got. The property was gorgeous. The cabin was adorable and homie. And the location was perfect because we were in the middle of so many adventures to be had. We can not to wait to go back and next time bring the kids!

What a wonderful restful place to come home to after exploring the many sights on the region. Wonderful friendly hosts, and Timber the cat to inspect and ensure that we were all safe!

Such a wonderful spot! The cabin is cozy and has everything that you need. We really loved the new hot tub and had the best morning walk on the gnome trail! The hosts made us feel welcome and gave us the perfect amount of privacy. We will be back again

Such a great stay at the Huckleberry Cabin! So cozy, clean, and comfortable. Great amenities - really appreciated the cooktop, pots and pans, fridge with freezer, and 4-cup coffee maker complete with regular and decaf coffee. Made it easy to make easy meals - the frozen skillet meals were so easy with this set up. The Queen bed was comfortable and bedroom was nice and private with a door separating the living area. The hot tub was an added bonus and just a quick walk from the cabin (the hot tub is behind the owner’s garage, but completely private and they don’t use it while guests are staying). We had fresh snow, but we were still able to enjoy some of the trails (the gnome trail was our favorite). The resident kitty, Timber, was such a sweetheart and greeted us upon arrival. I had to work remotely one day and the internet worked well. Not much around for food, so highly recommend grocery shopping on your way in. The Spencer Lake Bar and Grill was good and had nice views of the lake. Thank you, Ruth and Scott!

My partner and I loved our stay at Huckleberry Cabin. It was such a magical, peaceful place to unwind. Hot tub was clean, bed was comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed. Beyond all the things you’d expect in a good rental, there were so many extra details that illustrate the creativity, love, and care of the hosts. I hope to go back soon!

The property is beautiful, quiet and full of wonderful little touches that make it feel special. The gnome trail walk was a lot of fun and a great way to explore the property. Hot tub was relaxing and in a very private space. We had breakfast in the back under a cedar tree, and spend time in the evening on on the porch swing with our tea. We will definitely be back.

Such a cozy cabin in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We had a wonderful weekend on Harstine Island. The cabin was just right—warm, comfortable, and well set up for a relaxing stay. We’d happily return.

We loved our stay at Ruth and Scott’s cabin! The cabin itself was cozy and warm, perfect for huddling up together on a chilly winter night, and very thoughtfully stocked with some delicious scones. The hosts also provided some very useful directions on accessing the more out-of-the way park on the island, which provided a perfect short hike with our dogs. The dogs themselves enjoyed all the trails around the property with plenty to sniff, and we were tickled with the gnome trail. We’d love to go back again!

I feel like the hosts thought of everything! All the little touches were so sweet - a blanket on the swinging bench, flips flops for the hot tub, maps, cozy blankets. The cabin is lovely and private and the property is beautiful. We loved seeing the woods and the creek and the cats. Can’t wait to return in a more sunny season too! Such a good jumping off point for many adventures in the area. We will be back!

Loved this cozy cabin in the forest and the access to the day use beach site! My stay was peaceful, private, and the perfect getaway.

Everything about the stay was amazing. Directions to the cabin were perfect, they left some really yummy huckleberry bread for us, the instructions for the hot tub were perfect. Ruth and Scott gave us plenty of privacy, but responded to our messages and texts promptly! The cabin itself was super cozy… we watched movies (even got the DVD player working!), had romantic meals by the fireplace, played some games, went out to explore the island and nearby yarn store, and walked around the property looking at the fruiting mushrooms. If I could stay forever I would. Thanks again you two!!

Such a lovely peaceful space to stay in! Hot tub is huge and yard to well separated from the main house for privacy. Host was so very nice and brought us homemade huckleberry bread upon arrival that was hot out of the oven.

Cozy, quiet cabin with lots of charm.

The cabin was cute, and we really appreciated being able to check in an hour early. We came up to enjoy the hot tub and beach for a birthday trip, and we asked beforehand about playing music a little late and using the hot tub. I will say the hot tub was a bit confusing to find. The host provided maps but the maps didn’t indicate a starting point or where the cabin was located on the map, nor did it mention the hot tub. The beach wasn’t walking distance, and we couldn’t find the hot tub at first, so we ended up just spending our trip hanging out in the backyard. Directions in the guide indicated the hot tub was in the hosts backyard of their main house. We didn’t know this before booking and didn’t really feel comfortable hot tubing within view of their family home. The house was a bit warm but the host provided plenty of fans. Outdoor outlets & lights were on a timer so we asked the host to turn them on a bit before sunset. They were prompt and very accommodating. Our visit felt private enough, and we enjoyed our stay overall.

After a small mix up at the beginning of our stay, which the hosts took care of immediately, everything went smoothly.The cabin is a great space for a quiet get away. The property is great with lots of places to go, trails to walk on, and places to sit outside and relax.

My husband and I were there for a wedding we needed to be at rehearsal at 4 pm. Very graciously the host alowed up to check in early.The cabin and property were perfect secuded peaceful quiet and perfect retreat. We will be back Thank you your sharing th I s wonderful property

My husband and I had a rare 3day off at the same time. All we wanted was quiet, nature and a hot tub, and we enjoyed just that. The cabin is adorably rustic, feels secluded and comes with most necessities. Comfy bed, fire pit, multiple areas to sit and relax and the hot tub (with robes!) didn't disappoint. The properties trails, the welcoming owners and the local animals were a huge bonus.

As always a perfect stay. You can’t ask for a sweeter little cabin nestled in the woods.

We really enjoyed our weekend at the cabin. Our dogs did too. The trails on the property were perfect for morning walks. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, always responded quickly and were helpful during our stay. They have a nearby community beach where you can clam which was so convenient. Close enough to town to go there for groceries and meals.

Wandering trails through the woods with a little stream babbling along. Lots of spots to sit and ponder or relax. Plus a cozy cabin to curl up in. What's not to love.

So much thought and care was put into this adorable cabin! From the flowers in the vase to the Cabin Bread and coffee. It is so quiet and peaceful and beautiful. The gnome trail was such a delight! We will definitely be making another trip sometime in the future. Thank you so much for having us!

I needed a quiet place to stay while in the Shelton area and this is it! Lovely location and the owners live close by if you need anything. I highly recommend this VRBO!

The Huckleberry cabin is set in a wooded property behind the main house. It felt very private, tucked away with shrubs around the front porch for privacy. There was a lot of thoughtful details put into the cabin. Fresh roses and forest flowers, huckleberry bread, robes and flops for walking to the hot tub, gnome hunting cards 😂 for the gnome forest trails and outdoor sitting areas, hammocks. The private community beach was a treat!

This cute little cabin was perfect for our anniversary getaway. We enjoyed the private, outdoor hot tub even when it rained on us. We relaxed on a covered, cushioned outdoor swing as well as on indoor couch.The kitchenette was sufficient for basic needs, and our family appreciated that we had wifi in case of emergency. The cabin is surrounded by wild trails in the woods around the property with several benches and sitting areas set up. We didn’t bring our kids but *I* enjoyed the gnome trail.There were many amenities we did not have time to use. The crafty decor and welcoming details were appreciated. The owner’s house is right there but strategically partitioned off so only the driveway in and out is exposed. We only saw the owners once when we had a quick request for a kitchen utensil we forgot and once for a surprise berry coffeecake delivered fresh from the oven at checkout time. We look forward to reserving another visit.

We didn't realize how much we needed to stay at a place like this until we did. We live in Lake Forest Park right off of HWY 104 and we're constantly hearing sirens, car racing, and a variety of other noises regularly. Our cat is also fairly vocal. This place is pretty remote. During the day we'd explore the Island or surrounding area, and in the afternoon/evening we found ourselves relaxing in the back yard with a book, and dinner from the grill. Later in the evening we had the choice to hot tub or do a fire; hot tub won out the two nights we felt up to doing stuff. The hot tub is technically behind the owners garage, but the walking path to it is largely private, especially at night. The amount of interaction you want to have with the owners seems to be largely up to you. We briefly talked to them in passing; on our way in our car to explore the island or walking down to check out the trails on the property, both while they were tending to horses or their garden. You can text them if you need anything during the stay, but we found that we didn't. A LOT of the beach access on the island appears to be connected to private, gated communities. My wife can't walk very vary and as a result we didn't check out the community beach available to us, and the walk to Fudge Point State Park after driving to a secret spot (denoted in the guest book) was too far for her to finish as well. Come for the forest and the tranquility it provides. These kinds of spaces are hard to find

Out stay was incredible. The hosts were very helpful, even providing us with a cooler full of ice during an unexpected area-wide power outage so we could store our food. They were quick to respond to any questions and just over all have an incredibly lovely property. I would book here again given the chance!

This cozy cabin is exactly as described and even better in person! The property was spotlessly clean and had everything we could have needed - comfy bed, ample linens, helpful host recommendations. The best part is the grounds that the cabin is nestled on! Despite being close to the main house, the cabin feels secluded amongst a beautiful yard with a fire pit, hammocks, lots of cozy places to sit, and a few wooded trails around the property. My favorite part of the weekend was enjoying a peaceful morning in the hammock while watching the hosts' 2 beautiful horses roaming around their enclosure.
