We had a great time. Mike was extremely helpful and responded quickly.
We enjoyed our stay very much and our dog Lele really took to the cabin.
Words cannot describe how wonderful and perfect this property is. It's located on a dead end road surrounded by nature. It's extremely peaceful, quiet, and has a gorgeous view of the potomac river. They supply a canoe and intertubes to use if you wish. They do not supply life jackets so I recommend bringing your own. They are extremely dog friendly! They supply pet bowls and even have a cute chest in the front room filled with dog toys. My family and I enjoyed our stay here so much we added and extra night onto our stay while we were there and plan on coming back a few times next year. This place is trully wonderful. You will fall in love upon arival.
Being on the river was so special. We painted rocks, took an inflatable boat ride and an inner tube trip down the river, made s'mores and cooked HB and hot dogs, watched movies and generally really enjoyed each other's company. We would love to come again in the fall. Thank you so much for having us.
Relaxing and we enjoyed the river and canoes the deck and fire pit would definitely want to come back next year
This was an awesome week by the river! We loved the large fire pit and the great deck with nighttime lighting! So pretty! The poker table was also fun!
We had a great time, we went kayaking and enjoyed the deck and fire pit along with the sunroom overlooking the water. The cabin is was well stocked and very accommodating. We will definitely be staying again. Thank you.
We had a great week with our family at this riverside cabin! The river is very pretty and we were able to see a bald eagle feasting on a fish. We loved spending time around the huge fire ring and relaxing on the deck. The kitchen was well stocked and the deck has a gas grill and blackstone griddle that we used every morning for breakfast. We played poker at the poker table as well. The property is about 30 min away from Winchester where you can find many restaurants and grocery stores. All in all a great week!
Great river property
Thank you for everything. We left behind some items for the closet! I want to come back and stay longer next time. I could not get the fireplace working. the Grills and fire pit were awesome. We did not even turn on the stove!! Thank You
This property was clean and well maintained. Everything was easy to find. There was a great little guide on the counter as well. It is next to another house and you could never tell. The steps to the water were my family's favorite place. We really enjoyed it.
We had a wonderful weekend in the cabin. We especially enjoyed the big kitchen, the deck and its lights, the fireplace, the sunroom overlooking the river, and the outside fire pit. Cell service is quite limited so the great wifi was especially appreciated. The cabin owners were accommodating and responsive, and let us check in early and leave late when we asked. Capon Bridge is a nice small town and we enjoyed the hospitality at Farmer's Daughter (the butchershop), The River House (coffee shop), and Bent River Trading. The only thing we could think of to improve is an upgrade to the mattresses on the beds. But overall a lovely place to get away to!
Quiet and serene stay. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get away to relax
My husband and I celebrated our 18th anniversary here!! Quiet, peaceful, serene, beautiful…We had the most amazing time just relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings! The outdoor areas were wonderful, and we spent most of our days lounging on the deck and down by the water. We were quite happy with all of the modern amenities inside of the home and the cozy decor. I was extremely happy to find the cast iron pans for cooking!! We also spent many hours enjoying the fire pit in the evenings. Choosing this property was a great decision and we would definitely like to return in the future.
We had an amazing time! Your property was perfect and had everything we could possibly need. We did a little bit of everything and enjoyed every minute of it! We will definitely be back!!!!
Everything you might need is there. It was clean & well set up. The sun room overlooking the river was a favorite spot. The Farmer's Daughter in Capon Bridge has an amazing burger! Happy, great, relaxing vacation.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here! We planned a weekend of cooking and board games and there were plenty of places to relax and do exactly just that. The sunroom provided a lovely view of the river where we could sit or nap, and my dog especially enjoyed the peace and quiet while also being able to smell the outside. The stairs access to the river was well kept and sturdy and we walked down quite frequently to dip our feet in the water. Just as a heads up about the river access: there's not much of a beach? but it would be a perfect launch spot for kayaks or tubes!
We had a great experience.
We spent a rainy spring break week here with our three kids. It was so homey and comfortable! We played games (there are a chest of them to choose from in the living room) read in the sunroom, made yummy food in the kitchen, watched lots of movies, made homemade bread, and watched the river go by. It was amazing to see how much the river filled up during the thunderstorms. The kids loved the game table - we played an epic game of monopoly that spanned two days. We saw hawks, owls, and so many songbirds. The walkway down to the water is the perfect place to sit a bit or for kids to throw sticks into the river. There is also seating at the top of the hill overlooking the river (not to mention the large bank of windows overlooking it in the sunroom) On our clear night we had a ton of fun with a fire in the outdoor firepit, roasting hot dogs and s'mores. The washer and dryer provided were really convenient. Night temps were chilly during our visit but we stayed cozy and warm. We can't wait to visit again!
