Wonderful host and great property!
My family and I stayed in this cozy cabin for an early Thanksgiving. The cabin is as described, however, the large sunroom is unusable during the winter months as there is NO heat in there! That made 7 of us a little cramped in the den area to play games and be by the only tv, but we were cozy! The fire pit was awesome and we loved the cabin decor - it was even decorated for Christmas! FYI - The bed shown in the basement is now a futon. We had a little issue with the oven and reached out to the owner who was MORE than accommodating and helpful. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven for us to make some wonderful family memories! :-)
Great place - had everything we needed. Right across the street from La Prade's so very convenient to pop over there if we wanted great food, etc.
Nice property. Basement and sunroom had a musty smell.
Perfect place to access the area…house was clean, comfortable and well appointed…we plan to return next summer and make this trip annual.
We had a daddy/daughter vacation this week at this cabin. We loved it! Close to little gems like Hemlock falls, Anna Ruby falls and Helen. The locals were so friendly too! The cabin was so clean :) we would totally stay here again!
I will stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay. Host was easily accessible, and the cabin had everything we expected. Beautiful space and just a short walk to LaPrade's Marina. Great stay for a weekend at the lake.
Outstanding
Was absolutely wonderful
Our family enjoyed our stay at this lakeside treasure. From grandma to the youngest preteen, we had space for everyone to spread out and a beautiful place to gather by the fire. Good location for enjoying the lake and centrally located for exploring the surrounding area. Would stay again.
In our 10 years travelling to the area, this cabin was centrally located to nearly everything. It made going to dinner, fishing, and shopping a breeze. The property was also very clean. When we came back from fishing on Saturday, the driveway had been blown off - NICE! The cabin offered nice accommodations to hang out, cook, and sleep.
Perfect stay and everything was just as described. Very clean, beds were comfortable! Will come back again!
Renting the property was excellent. Need to upgrade cable or satellite service we were unable to watch TV.
The property was well suited for our needs. Air conditioning was very good nice bathrooms and it was quite. We enjoyed the area and location even with the challenging driveway a turn around at the top would help. The rating would be excellent if several items were attended to. For safety concerns the stairway to the lower level requires a bannister. Three ceiling fans did not work or were severally out of balance consequently could not be used. The Wi-Fi was very intermittent making use difficult. Light bulbs were out or in some case missing. .
We chose to escape to the lake this year for our family vacation, and it was wonderful. We hiked along Wildcat Creek, rented a pontoon boat at LaPrade's Marina, and paddle boarded from the shores of Mocassin Creek State Park. Our accommodations were perfect. Well-stocked kitchen and linens and the beds were comfortable. The deck was a really nice place to drink coffee in the morning or hang out at night and listen to the bugs. Our primary contact Kellie was friendly and communicative. Thank you for everything!
Pros: The property and cabin itself is very pretty. We had everything we needed. We got to meet our neighbor, Robert, who gave us a lot of history of the surrounding area. Cons: There was a pile of dirty towels left from previous guests in the laundry room downstairs. The front porch was not ready for visitors; we had to sweep and clean the chairs before enjoying this area. The outside area in front of the ground floor was also dirty and unkempt. The sunroom had an unpleasant smell, so we stayed out of this room. My biggest concern was there are no handrails going downstairs. (Possible code violation?) My sweet mother is 82 years and we were concerned for her safety walking up and down the steps. Of course, we assisted her when we were aware she was going up or downstairs. Lastly, the bear rug in the kitchen is a trip hazard, so we folded it up and stored it in the musty sunroom until the morning we left. With all this said, I had a wonderfully blessed time with my mom, sister and two sister-in-laws. ( Kellie, the first contact person did apologize for the dirty towels left behind. She said she would “ see about getting a partial return on the clearing fee”)
We loved staying at the cabin. The location can't be beat. Rigjt across the street to LaPrade's Marina. The house was more than well stocked (TP, towels, sheets, blankets, spices, dishes, cleaners and soap, coffee and filters, utensils, cups). You literally only need to bring clothes and shampoo. The beds were very comfortable with good quality sheets. We used the firepit each night. We would absolutely rent again for a future stay.
