The view was beautiful and the owners were very nice and easy to communicate with. It was rustic as expected but comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at the Ohio Cabin. It was as described - cozy and quiet - and Mike and Kathy were attentive and responsive. On the drive we realized we would need a step stool or ladder to access the carrier on the top of our vehicle. I texted to ask if there was a stool in the cabin and was assured there is one...and as we drove up we noticed a ladder propped on a tree along the drive. Such a simple and helpful act of kindness (as the little stool wouldn't have been tall enough). The place was rustic enough to be considered a cabin, but comfortable and just the right size for 2 adults and our labrador. The place would work well for a small family, as well. Bass Lake isn't ideal for swimming in our opinion, but the kayaks, pier, wraparound deck, and firepit were put to good use. The proximity to other lakes, Sleeping Bear Dunes, hiking and recreational trails, and more were perfect for us.

Beautiful lake, so quiet and peaceful. The cabin had everything we needed to enjoy our trip. Took several little day trips to Glen arbor, fish town and shalda creek.

This little cottage is so cute. It’s small but well appointed and you can’t beat the beautiful lake view and access. I loved my stay. Communicating with the owners was easy and they were super accommodating. I hope to be back!

We really were excited to stay in this cozy cabin. I messaged the owner days before our stay. No response until the day before stating she thought we were coming on Friday not Wednesday. Hmmmm. Makes sense after seeing the uncleanliness. The pictures must’ve been taken awhile ago. The description said heat. There were 2 older space heaters. There was mice feces in the cupboards and shower, mold inside of the filter left inside of the coffee pot for who knows how long, many bugs in the bathroom lights, an air freshener inside of the Tupperware, glass dish cupboard, broken smoke alarm, lots of dirt/dust on top of the refrigerator, moldy shower curtain complete with a dirty bath rug, dirty greasy pan lids. We went out a lot instead of cooking there. We did not say anything to the owner as we thought she lived in Illinois and thought what could she do from there. I texted pictures after sending her a VRBO message which she said she did not receive. She blamed me for not telling her while we were there. My fault according to her. She said because I didn’t tell her while there, there was nothing she could do now. I asked her what was she going to do…. Fumigate it?? We heard mice running across the ceiling. It had a barn smell with mice feces. Extremely disappointed. By the way…. The owner said she lived down the road…Maybe she should have checked it over better before we came on the day we signed up for…

Hosts were great about answering questions before we stayed. The cabin is exactly what we wanted; cozy and quiet, in the woods and on a lake, great fire pit area, close to the wine/cider trail.

We had a great time, unfortunately it was cold and rainy so we didn’t get to enjoy the lake and outside property ☹️ The cabin was very nice, a little bit small for four adults . I believe that you should trim some of the bushes that block the view to the Lake, you could have an absolutely beautiful view.?

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the use of the kayaks. Bass Lake is very nice and the cluster of small cottages was very quiet. I was surprised that there was not a permanent stove, but the options that were available worked out fine.

My husband, son, small pup and I loved our stay! The well-appointed cabin had everything you could ask for, proximity to town was superb, and the lake was absolutely serene. We had a string of unexpected visits due to the cabin being the internet hub but the owners were easy to work with. Great spot!

Loved the closeness to Traverse City. Communication with owners great/quick. Read description well. I didn’t read that the oven was a convection oven/microwave. Living space is small. Beds comfy.
