Cozy Cabin Getaway Located In The Heart Of Valle Crucis

Great location between Boone and Banner Elk. We loved having a fireplace that we could use and plenty of fire wood on the porch.

We actually stayed in Almost Heaven property #932079. The owner had contacted us because the driveway to the Valle Crucis property had been damaged. This was okay except they never figured out with VRBO how to change the reservation officially and most of their communication was directly through text message. Worked out okay, but it did make me nervous leading up to it. As for the Almost Heaven property - it was okay. The kitchen had limited pans and cooking supplies. The loft beds were unusably uncomfortable. The main floor was okay except the Foosball table was in a room with a slanted floor. The bedrooms on the 2 lower levels had a major flaw - they were cold. The window AC units were not sealed well so cold air just came flowed in and the only portable heaters available were under desk types which don't heat a room. The lowest level room had a wall heater that struggled to keep up at full blast.

Rented this home and arrived at 5pm for the power to go out at 8am the next day and not come back. Not a candle or flashlight in the house and when the driveway washed out the owner told me multiple times someone was on the way, they were not. Had friends come help to do the 6 hours of rock & log hauling to get my vehicle out. Spent $70 in supplies to wok on the driveway. My reimbursement? $480 of the over $1,200. Owner stopped responding when I questioned the cost for less than a day of a usable property. It’s on a well so now power = no water. Didn’t matter. Don’t put yourself in the situation of this house.

To be honest after reading some of the reviews I was a little cautious. No need, this cabin more than lived up to our needs and was clean comfortable, the two back decks were a wonderful bonus. If I has 1 concern it was the steep stairs. I am sure it is on the list because you could tell there was work that had been done. I would absolutely stay again.

It wasn't worth the money. Starting with the driveway, it's vert steep (not mentioned in the description) and has holes and divots making the climb very difficult. The porch was dirty and not swept. The floors inside had not been cleaned. The couch was threadbare (the foam cushion was completely exposed. I used my own blanket to cover the couch. The microwave barely works and should probably not be used as it has rust on the inside. The dishwasher didn't work, although the owner did replace it while we were there. There was a dead mouse behind one of the toilets. We had to take all trash with us, which I've never had to do when renting a cabin. There are blinds that were broken. We would not choose to stay here again.

We loved our stay at the quaint, secluded cabin! The home was roomy with 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths (plus a loft bedroom.) The wrap around and tiered porch provided lots of outdoor living space and there was plenty of parking. Household items are a bit dated but for the value, it was not a concern!!! Inside was very clean although porch could stand a little sprucing up. One small car struggled a little on driveway but managed. For a dog friendly place, we will definitely return!!!

Liked the spaciousness of 4 big bedrooms. Enjoyed the hot tub. Not very bright and inviting though. Front door opened up by itself from the wind.

The hill going up to the cabin could be a slight inconvience but the gravel is set up in a way to make it easily accessible for small cars. The cabin was very nice and cozy it was great and accompanied our group staying very well. The hot tub could have been a little cleaner but was not enough to consider a concern. Overall a great cabin and great for a group of 8 as well as being convient to downtown and the local ski slopes!

Loved our stay. Could use some minor cosmetic fixes but nothing that caused any problems to our visit. Will definitely
