**THE RETREAT PROPERTY**

Not long after you turn onto the private road that winds through the retreat property, you will see Coyote Cabin on your left, along with your own private parking area (2 cars max). Nearby, you will see The Otter Box Cabin and Black Bear Cave (also listed).

Beside your parking area at Coyote Cabin, there are stairs leading up to the cabin's entrance from the parking area. At the top of the stairs, you will appreciate the views from the covered porch area. This is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and enjoy the views :)

Stepping inside the cabin, you will know your peaceful retreat has begun as you are surrounded by windows that reveal the most beautiful treehouse views. From every window, you will see refreshing views through a canopy of trees. Be sure to look up and notice the beautiful wood ceiling that was built by the homeowners and upcycled from hurricane-weathered wood planks on Alabama's own coast in Baldwin County.

Moving into the main living area, you will appreciate the sight of a large comfortable sofa and loveseat. The sofa folds out to a queen bed when there are 6 guests. There is an gas log fireplace for your enjoyment, and for movie nights in, there is a 55 HD television in the living room with fast Wi-Fi for streaming your own favorite channel subscriptions. A DVD player is also available if you'd like to bring your favorite DVDs.

Directly next to the living room area is the dining area and kitchen. There is seating for up to six with two additional chairs on the front porch. In the kitchen, there is a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender, cooking pots, can opener, pans and utensils, dishes, drinking glasses, eating utensils, cooking spices, coffee mugs, and more.

A primary bedroom boasts beautiful window views. There is a closet, and for the bed, there is a queen bed and with comfortable bedding for your rest and relaxation.

The secondary bedroom also has a queen bed, and there is a sitting bench beside the bed that can be used to climb into the big, comfy bed as the thick mattress and box springs give it more height.

A full bathroom includes a full tub/shower combo and sink vanity. Directly across the hall from the bathroom, there is a full laundry room with a washer and dryer available for your convenience, as well as a fold-out ironing board with iron. You will also find extra quilts, a portable fan and a sofa-bedding kit.

Back outside and near the cabin, you will notice a rock fire pit designed with your retreat in mind. You are welcomed to use any small pieces of fallen wood that can safely fit inside the fire pit, and firewood bundles are sold at nearby stores. Please only burn firewood, as the homeowners and guests roast food over this fire pit. Extendable roasters are located in a kitchen drawer for your convenience, so be sure to bring ingredients for s'more memories. We visited Coyote Cabin for a quick fall break with our 3 young boys and golden retriever. Everyone had the best time! The boys got up early and played on the hammock outside and with their toy trucks. We visited DeSoto Falls, Citadel Boulder Preserve, and Little River Canyon. One of the boys asked if we could live there forever! Haha! We would love to make this at least an annual trip!

The cabin has been recently updated and was nice inside and out. It was very comfortable inside and had everything we needed. We had a very quiet and relaxing stay. We went hiking every day during our weeklong stay. The back entrance to DeSoto State Park was just 0.5 miles away. We also appreciated the good WiFi service. Walmart and several good restaurant choices were 15 to 20 minutes away. Highly recommended! We would definitely go back!

We had a wonderful stay at this tastefully decorated cabin with beautiful peaceful surroundings and convenient location close to State Park, where multiple adventures await. It was perfect for a weekend getaway. Upon completion of our stay, my kids said they did not want to leave and that we should definitely come back soon.

From the very first phone call I knew I had called the right place! The booking person was very kind and helpful since my daughter and I just took off on a spur of the moment spend the night trip. When we walked in the door I immediately loved the place and felt the peace!!!! Everything was super clean and nice. We loved the gas log fireplace and we had everything we needed. The bed was cozy and we had a great nights sleep! You won’t regret staying at Coyote Cabin!!!

Coyote Cabin (9/20-22): The reservation, payment, and checkout process were all straightforward and flawless. Peaceful Retreats (and Misti) knew my questions before I knew them and communicated well via email and text. Misti pointed us to lots of good information about food and events (and animal activity) in the Fort Payne area. We arrived after dark, but Misti left the lights on for us. We walked in and found the cabin to be very clean. It felt new and fresh and comfortable. The cabin is in the middle of woods, with the nearest cabin far enough away so you aren't really aware of it. There is a hammock and a fire pit that we didn't use, but they would be fun for another trip with the kids. We used our free breakfast vouchers (Thank you Peaceful Retreats!) at The Hatter restaurant and liked it so much that we returned the next morning. The cabin was home base for day trips to DeSoto SP and LRCNP. We recommend this cabin for a stay and will return when we can!

My son, two grandchildren, and I went and Coyote Cabin is absolutely amazing. The pictures do not even do this cabin justice. It is very clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The hammock and fire pit were loved by the grands, and us too. Misty was our travel coordinator and was so helpful in giving us pointers in the area to have fun with places to dine. The Hatter Cafe is a definite must. We will definitely book with Peaceful Retreats again.

The Coyote cabin was absolutely awesome. We rested, took in the beauty around us, ate, and visited local crafters. But it was so quiet and peaceful at the cabin. It was clean and supplied so well. A very thoughtful basket of goodies and the tea was such a nice touch. The voucher for The Hatter was so nice! We loved it all. Thank you so much for hosting us in your beautiful cabin!

We loved Coyote Cabin! It was extremely clean, comfortable, and the people at Peaceful Retreats are extremely welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. It was peaceful & quiet, able to get away from every day life. Also, was a short drive to Fort Payne/Mentone to go to lunch or dinner. All in all, was a great trip and will definitely be visiting again!!

My wife, our dog, and I had a wonderful weekend at Coyote Cabin. It was convenient to find, located far enough away from a developed area to be peaceful, but not so far you couldn't easily go get dinner. Wonderfully appointed and the gate on the porch made our dog ask to practically live out there for the majority of our stay. We highly recommend spending time here.

Coyote Cabin was the perfect getaway from out busy city lives. This precious immaculate cabin was situated among deep woods off a dirt road. The front porch was the perfect place to hang out. The cabin is decorated so cute, the appliances were brand new and the beds SUPER comfy. Would stay here again.

We stayed at Coyote Cabin May 2nd thru 5th. Our cabin was surrounded by beautiful woods that was on the edge of the state park. Coffee and breakfast on the deck was such a delightful activity for us to get our day started with. We ended each busy day by relaxing by the camp fire with s’mores. The cabin also had a great napping couch for those (me) that might have a hard time keeping up with the other people!
