Stayed Jul 19, 2025We had such a fun time in Rockland! This little house was the perfect size for mom, dad, 2 kids, and grandma. Well situated for getting up to Main St and enjoying all the town has to offer. Our dogs enjoyed how close we were to the ocean and a large park. We would definitely come back!

Stayed Jul 19, 2025Really cute house that was well stocked with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable for most of us, and towels were plenty. The only small negative was the fact that it is on the end of a harbor road, so there is a lot of traffic as people bring their boats back and forth. The dogs enjoyed the nearby park and we all loved the harbor walk up to Main St for the shops and bakeries.

Stayed Aug 10, 2024Two full baths was great - we were two couples and each of us took a floor. Downstairs had a small den and upstairs had a room with two twin beds so each couple had a suite. Outdoor shed with table and chairs and grill was nice to have for evening meals. Kitchen is well-equipped. Location is good - nice neighborhood in south end of Rockland. We walked along harbor walk and got local ice cream! Lawn and plantings are well-maintained. Parking for two cars with extra room. Convenient to Owl's Head, Farnsworth Art Museum, Birch Point State Park (beach) as well as village of Thomaston (Laurel's bakery and state prison store). Jess' Market is walkable and has great seafood and wines. Bigger supermarket is a short drive in Rockland. Kitchen has everything you will need - and maybe too many plates and mugs!! Fridge and freezer good capacity. Dishwasher came in handy as did laundry (in basement). All in all a very pleasant one week stay and we felt like we lived in the neighborhood. Quiet area - you hear the cars on Rte 73 but the sound fades into the background (Really not a concern.) Would be happy to stay here again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The house is on a quiet street but is still close to restaurants, shops, museums, and the Rockland waterfront. It is obviously a well cared for family home, complete with old board games and a great record collection. Plenty of space for our family of four and had everything we needed. It's not luxurious but it was a great place to stay.

Stayed Jul 6, 2024This was our second time staying at Montgomery Cottage and we came back because we loved it so much the first time. The home has everything you need with the bonus of washer/dryer and pet-friendly! Walking distance to downtown Rockland, Harbor Walk and Sandy Beach. Easy drives to many other Maine destinations. The home is comfortable, clean and very welcoming. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Stayed Oct 7, 2023The house is cute, cozy, and the bed was comfortable — pillows, too. The house is filled with books, and the kitchen has a nice functional layout. It was a pleasant place to hang out for a week.

Stayed Jun 10, 2023My family and I stayed at this house in early June 2023. We were impressed with the location, the cleanliness and overall layout of the house. (We travel to Maine every year and have stayed all over Rockland; we would definitely stay in the house again). My only feedback for the owners/property managers/Vrbo/Vacasa is that there were differing instructions on how to handle different situations. There were instructions in the house (posted on the fridge) on when to put out the garbage and different instructions in the app. There was also differing information on what to do with bed linens at the conclusion of our stay. Aside from that confusion, we had a wonderful time! Thank you!
