Stayed Dec 26, 2025We stayed Dec. 26 - 31st. Greeted by a small Christmas tree in the living room. Was nice touch as we didn't put up a tree at home this year because we would be traveling. Upstairs has a wonderful area to play cards and we enjoyed playing cards in the evening. 2 horses were board at this location so didn't let our city pup run off lead with the horse poop we have a shih tzu long hair and didn't want to be in bathing the pup... But there was plent area to walk the pup on lead.Sites we saw was the usual, Ark and the Creation muesum. but the family's favorite was Church Hill Downs in Louisville, KY was 1 hr 10 min drive to get there but we did the Backside Barn tour and got to see a few race horses that was waiting to be picked up. We got luckly on the tour just us and the tour guide. While the other tours had groups of 50-80 people. The cabin looks like pictured. Only negatie the Lock to the door froze on one day we didn't know to keep the outside doors pulled shut to prevent the lock from freezing and we were challenge to figure out the heater system but there is instructions on the frig and once we followed that we had no issues with the system. The Teenage boy traveling with us LOVE the cabin how rustic it was and having the horse outside. This eneded up being a trip we will never forget. Weather was COLD, saw snow 3 days but didn't accumlate. We were drving a mini van but suggest driving with a 4-wheel drive if going in the winter to be on safe side

Stayed Oct 14, 2025The only recommendation I have to make the stay more convenient, think about stopping for groceries or other necessities prior to arrival. Shopping is very limited. Also, it didn’t appear to have any restaurants close by. It isn’t a deterrent to the place. I just wish we had known!

Stayed Sep 18, 2025We enjoyed our stay. The host was friendly and responded quickly to communications. The location was convenient. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the country. It was convenient to have a full kitchen and a living room area to hang out. Loved the back porch also. The were only two downsides to the stay. Sliding barn doors are used for every room. Not all of them closed all the way and gave the privacy desired. The beds are firm. The upstairs bed has an innerspring mattress on a board. This caused some back issues. I realize everyone has their own preferences but since comfortable beds were mentioned in a few other reviews, I wanted to note this. It is the only reason I would not stay here again. It was a great place otherwise.

Stayed Aug 9, 2025Our Check-in time was 4pm, which is when we arrived. However, the owner was not ready for us to check-in. While she was friendly, we waited outside for 45 minutes in 90 degrees temperatures until we were aloud to enter.Once entering the house we were disappointed in cleanliness and overall structure. The pictures on Vbro are at angles to miss the many imperfections. Or family come from a long line of carpenters and electrical engineers and we were surprised that the house passed a building code. With visible nails on the steps and boards above the air conditioning unit appeared to be coming off the wall. We thought for sure they were going to fall off while we were watching TV. We took pictures and videos just in case they fell while we were staying there. The house has a lot of potential but personally not up to our standards. A/C worked well and great views of wildlife and beautiful horses! You may want to consider investing in a retractable awning over the deck in the back and blinds for French doors due to the extreme heat.Communication with owner was awesome and the house was better than staying at a hotel! Our visit to the Ark encounter and The Creation Museum was well worth the visit. Blessings to you and yours!

Stayed Jun 8, 2025I recently stayed near Glencoe, KY in a unique and wonderful property. This restored barn is all farm on the outside and all cabin farmhouse on the inside. The property was quiet and spacious allowing us peaceful outdoor time, including loving on the horses on site. Indoors we enjoyed modern amenities in a rustic decor. Two bedrooms plus two living areas and three bathrooms provided ample room for our four adults in our family to enjoy their own personal space as well as family time together. Our host was wonderful, greeting us on arrival and checking in during the week. We loved our stay! Great location, too, for parks and attractions nearby as well as small town exploration.

Stayed May 14, 2025Kathy was a great hostess and even provided a highchair for my one-year-old granddaughter. We really connected with her and appreciated everything she did for us. She was genuine and really wanted us to enjoy our stay and experience the farm. She also understood that a lot of people staying were planning to go to the Ark encounter and creation museum And had beautiful touches of decor to reflect that. The place also had a neat story about how it was built and was very rustic, but also modern at the same time. I would definitely stay there again if we planned a trip to the area.

Stayed Mar 29, 2025I have rented through VRBO for the past five years, and this is my first negative experience. It started with the check-in procedures, as I was given a two-digit code for the door with no mention of a gate that needed to be opened. Then we walked in to find a mouse still alive in a trap that needed to be taken care of. We noticed the numerous traps throughout the house. My family is very particular about cleanliness. We then found a dead mouse behind the oven. The level of dirt under the main stairs and the spider webs that were heading into the laundry room were disappointing. The shower in the Master Bath has rotten wood at the base and breaking off. The shower did work fine and had a fancy shower head unit, but it was dark in the shower and it was hard to tell the cleanliness of it.The upstairs was very nice and clean; and we were glad our children were upstairs. When issues were brought up to the owner, I was told that I do not know anything about a barn or farming, and mouse activity in the Spring is normal. The owner seems well intentioned; however, her communication style is less than gracious. I could have rebutted her arguments, as we have raised pigs for meat and chickens for eggs, so we are no strangers to the challenges of farming.I would disagree with the 10 for cleanliness of past ratings, and we were very disappointed overall. Maybe we are the only ones, but from our perspective, this property is not what it seemed to be.

Stayed Apr 30, 2025We just stayed there for 4 nights. Unfortunately it rained the whole time so we weren't able to enjoy the fire pit/deck. We checked in two hours late and the cabin still wasn't ready so that was a bit of bummer. The owner was very sweet and explained she had something pop up out of her control. House was clean and we all had room so we were able to spread out. All the furniture was in good working order. Beds were in the hard side so we ended up buying a foam topper and that helped a lot. Kitchen was well equipped with a coffee maker/Keurig. That was a lovely surprise! The host left us with eough soaps, paper towels, toilet paper and even some extras like k cups, creamer, popsicles for the kids and feminine hygiene items. Definitely appreciate that we had everything we needed for our stay and didn't have to buy consumables! Internet was slow but the TV worked fine. There were lots of family games to do together. The horses at the end of the property are sweet. The roads to the cabin are tight and curvy so just be careful when driving to/from but we felt it was worth it to be in a quiet neighborhood but still close to everything. The barn doors make the rooms a little awkward, especially the bedroom/bathroom downstairs. The bedroom door needs a latch. Finally, the stairs going upstairs are not built properly and feel odd walking up. We loved that all the room had their own temperature control.

Stayed Apr 17, 2025My family and I stayed there for a weekend getaway and it was great! There were toys for my son to play with, the beds were comfortable and the living area was inviting. Stayed Apr 10, 2025If you’re looking for cookie-cutter perfection, this might not be the place for you. BUT, if you want a quiet, cozy, rustic experience, book now. Lots of character in the barn, and it’s a good landing place for those checking out the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Our three kids loved the horses and spent all of their spare time with them. Enjoyed pizza at the General Store, seeing deer in the back field, and hearing all of the nighttime nature noises. Keyless entry didn’t work but the host did then offer a key, and a few of the sliding door tracks could use some attention as the doors don’t stay closed/open.
