This cabin is beautiful and immaculate! So very clean and tidy! It is in a convenient location to the wonderful restaurants in town and just far enough away to have little traffic nearby! Lives our stay and will be back!

Very clean and everything was in working order. Lock box was a bit hard to work in the dark but once we conquered that everything was as advertised. No mountain view but a quick ride to downtown Black Mountain with many quaint shops and restaurants. We were actually attending an event at the Cove (Billy Graham Conference Center) which is a few miles up the road between Black Mtn and Asheville, so this was a very convenient location for that.

This is the cabin of your dreams!!! Jonh and Rachel have everything meticulously clean and tidy to make you feel like your own home. You should come back next year. Thank you both of you!!!

Nice open spaced cabin with pine walls and ceilings. Clean. Easy access to Black Mountain and Asheville.

Almost everything was perfect! Extremely clean and such a cozy, real mountain cabin feel! Space and bedrooms well laid out and small details like coffee and sweeteners were provided! A great place for a getaway and to explore Black Mountain and Asheville area!

We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The cabin was the perfect set-up and location. A peaceful setting and located near so many activities. Kitchen was fully stocked , beds were comfortable and towels were abundant. No detail was left out.

Everything was wonderful! Clean, quiet, and well stocked with extras like soaps, linens, coffee pods, etc. The beds and furniture were clean and comfortable and the location was excellent as well. The hosts were friendly and communicative. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking and hope to have the opportunity to rent here again!!

What a cozy cabin! It was clean and so close to downtown Black Mountain! It had everything you need. I would definitely come back.

John was super responsive. The home came equipped with just about everything you need. It was super super clean. I haven't been in a rental so clean in a while. It was a beautiful cabin home. I would 100% recommend and will hopefully stay again! A 5

This cabin is meticulously maintained! The host was always available to answer any questions we had about our visit. If you visit this cabin do not pre-anticipate what you need to bring to make your visit comfortable as it is already there! All you need is food and a positive attitude! When we visited at the end of January 2026 we didn't expect the big snowstorm that was coming... They offered extra accomodations for our stay if needed. (Which we did not take, but very much appreciated the offer!)They showed up the morning after the snow and cleared off the decks, walking paths, fire-pit area and even our car! This wasn't like renting a hotel, but a place you could feel at home! We will definitely be renting this cabin again soon!

Cabin was very clean, spacious, and beautiful

We stayed 2 nights in Black Mountain at this AWESOME little cabin. Such a cute, clean little cabin. We loved the layout of this place, and the fact that is is so close to town. It is so much bigger than it looks like from the outside. It is decorated beautifully and we 100% recommend others stay here. (We were so sad when it was time to leave).Also, our host John was great to work with. He was always so quick to respond.We definitely would come back again.

Wow! What a beautiful cabin! My wife and I absolutely loved our stay. Close enough to everything but far enough away to feel like you’re in the sticks. :-) Host is a great communicator and answered our questions quickly. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Host didn’t give us a laundry list of chores to complete on our way out, which was a nice change. Can’t say enough good things about this property.

It was such a wonderful cabin for us and fit our needs perfectly! We found the binder of local places to visit very helpful and made great memories. We would definitely book here again!

The cabin’s location is great with easy access to downtown Black Mouuntain and easy to access I-40 to go to Asheville. The surrounding area has quiet neighbors and enjoyed our weekend. This visit was our second at the property and the owners are very responsive.

Great Place to stay. Very clean and lots of room. Love the big table for games and meals. It was raining the whole time so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor space.

This cabin is adorable, very clean and in a great location. Out of the busy part of town, but still really close to everything. Beds were comfortable and plenty of linens were provided. The owners were wonderful to work with and we will definately be renting from them in the future.

We used this house for our annual motorcycle trip and it worked perfectly! Located near countless biker loops restaurants and shops….simply perfect!

We really enjoyed our weekend away! The Black Mountain/Asheville area is beautiful! The cabin is stocked with anything you will need and is VERY CLEAN! The host were wonderful to work with, and very responsive to messages! We will definitely be back!

We loved the Big Oak Cabin! It had everything we needed for a fun mother/daughter weekend. The beds were comfortable and the sectional couch was perfect for watching movies. The kitchen table was large enough for six of us and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook dinner. Loved the location being so close to downtown Black Mountain and a 10 min. drive to the grocery store, but it still felt like we were in the mountains.

We were very pleased with Big Oak Cottage and received quick responses from owners. Everything was as stated in the description. The location was great for our visits to Asheville and Black Mountain. Would definitely stay there again.

The cabin was as described and was clean. We stayed over Christmas and the hosts had put up a tree which was really nice. Communications with the hosts was excellent. Black mountain is a nice area we would like to explore again.

Beautiful craftsmanship on inside of log cabin. Comfortable, clean and accommodating with the little extras. Black Mountain is 5-minute drive. My family loved the area and cabin!

We came to Asheville for a family 40th birthday. This cabin was absolutely perfect for our family. We have small children so the outdoor space was perfect for them! It was well stocked. Extremely clean. So many fun games for the kids. John and Rachel are wonderful hosts. We will definitely stay here again in the future!
