Classic Mountain Home With Two Living Areas, Incredible Views - WIFI

Great location and very cozy

Seemed like this was going to be a great place to stay, unfortunately my family never got the opportunity. I was notified the day of check-in (to be exact 5 hours prior to check-in) that the home was unaccessible due to a storm that occurred the previous weekend. I can understand having to cancel the reservation but this was a situation that should have been identified and resolved sooner than day of check-in. I also want to point out that VRBO provided zero accommodation to me as the customer but did line their pockets by issuing the host a fine for the day of cancellation.

I read previous reviews about heater not working fireplace not working and the place not being clean. I passed it off as maybe all those things had been addressed. However; knowing my grandkids would be staying in the cub cave bunks with the single digit temps. I brought my own space heaters just in case! Thank God I did! The heater we were provided was missing a wheel and didn't work! That area has NO heat source at all! It was extremely cold! The fireplace is still not working. The house was not clean, showers sinks were nasty. Ceiling fans have never seen a dusting and the dining table has never seen a polish to say the least. Glad I bought my own lysol wipes! The whole house had a dusty musty smell. First VRBO rent and was very disappointed! Not sure how this place got 9.5 overall ratings.

The house was amazing. Great location with beautiful views. The host provided all the info we needed prior to check-in and responded immediately to my questions. The house has all the stuff a large or small group needs for a short or long stay. Very nice kitchen and bathrooms. I highly recommend this house.

The view is great and the house has plenty of space, but the house is pretty dated and in fair condition. Not sure how it gets 5-star reviews.

Convenient location to the lifts!Couldn’t get gas log fireplace to work, even after a call to the property manager.

We really enjoyed our stay! The place is very spacious with lot of amenities! Very cozy and a great view. Would have liked to give it a perfect score but the property needs a little TLC and there should have been a mention about the amount of stairs that has to conquered to reach the entrance to the home.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful weekend getaway in this beautiful home. The home was inviting, warm, and had everything we needed. We cooked all our meals and made s'mores, with 2/3 kids being toddlers and we felt the firepit was safe and easy to use. The kids loved the bunkbeds and having their own space. We celebrated my son Craig's 9th birthday, he loved it so much. We made great memories and took great pictures. The house has character, the only suprise were all the stairs leading up to the home but once you make it inside, its so cozy you won't want to leave. All in all, it was a phenomenal trip, not a long drive from central dmv area and very easy to find. We would love to come back, whether it be for the Winter or Summer. To Lee Dearing who helped me return my son's clothes to us, I am forever grateful.

We came to relax, enjoy the views, sit by a fire, and celebrate our friendship. Our host kept in touch and responded to all our questions quickly. We got all we came for and really enjoyed our stay!

Great place for JMU Family Weekend. Enjoyed the deck and grill for a family meal with stellar views. No small children in our group, but any kids would love the built in bunk beds!
